Pros: Lots of features, m.2 support, great looking, great bios, easy overclocking

Cons: won't wake from sleep by mouse movement or keyboard. could be a windows 10 issue but i'm pretty sure i have it configured right.
[update] So I was an idiot, there is no sleep issue. I just didn't realize there was a setting in the bios I had to change. It wakes perfectly now.

Other Thoughts: Everything except for the sleep issue works great. I would definitely recommend this to a friend. The bios look and work great. I have a mild overclock of 4.3 ghz on an i5 6600k and it was extremely simple even though I have only done it once before.

Pros: - feature packed
- stable when running
- looks pretty good
- MSI customer service fixed my initial problem with this board

Cons: - first board failed to wake from sleep state (RMA replacement does not have this problem)
- Killer Ethernet doesn't work 'out of the box' unlike Intel's drivers (easy fix though if you have an optical drive)
- flimsy plastic surrounding USB 3.0 header

Other Thoughts: *** UPDATE *** I am updating my review of this motherboard to 4 stars following completion of the RMA process. MSI sent me a new motherboard which does not appear to have problems resuming from sleep and I am now satisfied with the product. The only downside was I was without the computer for a little over 3 weeks. My original review follows below for posterity....

Got the motherboard installed and it *mostly* works. The main problem is that the motherboard fails to resume from a 'sleep' status and reboots itself whenever you try. After many hours of troubleshooting every other component in the system, replacing power supplies, stress-testing everything, updating all drivers etc, I finally reached out to MSI customer service via their website.

MSI's responses indicated that they didn't bother to even read what I wrote about troubleshooting the system and offered no useful suggestions of their own besides things I'd already told them I had completed. As of now, they've offered to RMA the board at my expense for shipping and allowing me to deal with the potential weeks of downtime (they will not provide a replacement or temporary board). All-in-all this has been a time-consuming and disappointing experience. I would've purchased a product from a different company if I had known how painful it would be to get what seems to be a relatively simple problem fixed.

For those in a similar situation, check MSI's forums for numerous reported problems regarding the motherboard waking up from a sleep state.

For reference my hardware is:
CPU - Intel i3 6100
MOBO - MSI Z170A-G45
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR4 3000 MHZ
GPU - Nvidia GTX 660
Power Supply - Corsair TX-650 / Seasonic SSR-650RM

Pros: Great BIOS, solid construction.

Cons: CPU slot and RAM slots could have been a hair further apart.

Other Thoughts: Click BIOS 5 is a delight to work with. XMP recognized my DDR4 3200 RAM and got the timing right on the first try. Recognized my M.2 SSD with no issues. Installing a fresh OS and switching between bootable devices on boot-up is a breeze. I'm very satisfied with everything about it.

Pros: Very solid mobo. Beautiful design and good layout. Ran everything fine.

Cons: Same issues as other review. Fails to wake up from sleep most of the time. Sometimes it will, if only put to sleep for short period of time. Most of the time, it will try and then reboot itself. This is too much of a nuisance for my future proof rig.
