5 out of 5 eggsStable platform for non overclockers

Pros: Like the title say it's a very stable and user friendly board. The bios is easy to navigate and understand. If the form factor fits your case and you don't plan/need to overclock I highly recommend this board!! Lots of room for upgrades and the pci-e slots are renforced and help prevent sag even for heavy cards

Cons: None

1 out of 5 eggsWas good for the 30 days it worked.

Pros: This is just above the prices of some budget mATX boards but I feel the build quality and extras are worth it.
- 1 CPU fan and 2 case fan slots
- Comes optimized for gaming in mind, I haven't had to adjust anything. Everything installed by default no tweaking required.
- Nice LED light indicator if you have problems during installation to help you pinpoint the issue.
- 4 RAM slots, instead of 2 that are common on mATX boards.

Cons: - Just yesterday the motherboard stopped working, died on me, just a single blue LED glowing. PC shut down on me and wouldn't come back on. I pulled pieces out 1x1 to try to pinpoint the issue. Eventually I got down to just the mobo and cpu. We had another stock ASUS 1151 mobo around here so I plugged all the parts from my build into that board instead including CPU and it booted and all was working. So the mobo died just days after i could refund it for newegg so now I have to try MSI warranty service. Which already means I pay more money to send the board I just paid for, with the expectation that it would work and last me years to come, to MSI and wait around weeks to see if they will even honor the warranty and replace the board.

Other Thoughts: At this point I'm currently under the impression to spend your money elsewhere. No sense spending the few bucks more for a board with a few extra features for the price point if its only going to last you a few weeks. If MSI honors the warranty and fixes or replaces the board and I get to try it again I can change my opinion but at this point I have to say stay away.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Eric,
Sorry to hear about the issue you reported. Before considering an RMA can you check following steps below since many reasons can cause the situation like this ,
1. Check and make sure that power are connected firmly, clear CMOS.
2. Check your other major hardware’s (memory, video card, CPU and power supply) to ensure that they are not the cause of the issue.
3. If possible test the board outside of the case to eliminate any possible ground/short issue.
4. If you need further assistant, please feel free to contact our technical support department directly at 626.271.1004 from M to F, 9am to 6pm Pacific standard Time.

Thanks for choosing MSI

4 out of 5 eggsHigh Quality "Budget Board"

Pros: Reinforced(MSI Armor) PCI slot, some red lighting effects on the back of the Mobo, gaming specific board.

If your looking for a high quality product for a budget gaming build this is it. I bought this because I don't over clock and I didn't need to put multiple drives in a Raid 0 configuration. Only thing that is a let down is not being able to use DDR4 ram faster then 2133 but in my opinion that isn't s worthy of a CON. My main reason in the end for this board was the reinforced pci slot. In my old z87 micro MSI board my 970 started to sag bad after having it in there since its release and I didn't want to have another board that over time gives way to the weight of my gpu.

I'd recommend this for anybody that's looking for a nice budget friendly gaming build.

Cons: Not Enough Fan headers. Two fan headers one CPU, I knew this buying the board so I planned accordingly and got two fan splitters for my case.

Other Thoughts: In the end great price great quality. For it being the b150 chipset you get a lot of features if your not trying to over clock, put drives in raid 0.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good.

Pros: Disclaimer: New comer to the art of the build. This is all based on my needs as a modest but dedicated gamer.
- For a first build, I feel it has a nice and easy BIOS.
- Sturdy. One of the first things I was concerned about as a first time builder was how delicate my motherboard may or may not be. This thing felt like a tank to me. In a good way. I was pretty rough with it.

Cons: I can't properly list any cons, though there may be some worth noting? I recommend thorough research on choice of motherboard as it's the foundation to the entire build.

Other Thoughts: As someone who had no idea what to expect or what I'd need or want, it's been flawless. I'd recommend it to any other first timers that don't want to go too crazy but want to be well equipped.

1 out of 5 eggsIt was great for 3 days

Pros: While it worked it was good

Cons: After 3 days the Ethernet controller died. No link light this indicates a hardware failure. Yes I did have a good cable and connection. Now I'm stuck with a useless board. I'm not sure whether I should get a PCIe Ethernet card or start the RMA process. It will be a real hassle to uninstall the MOBO and ship back. I am really disappointed.

Manufacturer Response:

4 out of 5 eggsresubmit

Pros: easy to assemble and very quiet

Cons: once I trouble shot the board and corrected the sitting of a cable it purred. Will give it a 4 as it didn't run first time. however, I would recommend this board.

5 out of 5 eggsQuick install - HTPC Upgrade from WMC to Kodi

Pros: Optical output
Latest BIOS was on the board
Network, Video, Audio all worked out of the box - no unknown devices
25 second reboot time (With SSD)

Cons: Horizontally-oriented SATA ports

Other Thoughts: Like another reviewer, I needed optical audio since I am still on an older receiver without HDMI. Installed Windows 10 from a flash drive and there were no unknown devices in the device manager, although I did upgrade RealTek and Intel to get later versions.
Used i5-6500 and Crucial DDR4 2133 16 GB.

5 out of 5 eggsReally great product other than very minor issue

Pros: looks amazing, everything works amazingly, the bios is great, insanely easy to work with

Cons: the only con is that there are only two case fan connectors

Other Thoughts: Would highly recommend unless you want more than 2 case fans

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board!

Pros: Great skylake based motherboard. No issues, posted first try. Always ran asus boards this is my first msi. Build quality is amazing. Has a clear cmos button on the back. Very nice touch. Even though it is a non overclocking board. uou can still do a little bit of overclocking with it.

Cons: Needs more red leds underneath.
More overclocking support would be nice.
