A simple and inexpensive motherboard for the enthusiast or the first time builder, the Asus M2V-TVM is a great starting point for anyone wanting to build a system or upgrade their motherboard. Designed with the small form factor case in mind, this motherboard will fit into most compact desktop systems. Equipped with an AMD socket AM2 suitable for Athlon 64 processors, including the X2 and FX series, the M2V-TVM is more than capable of handling anything you might think of.
Using the VIA K8M890 chipset with integrated graphics in conjunction with up to 2GB of DDR2 memory, the M2V-TVM is perfect for those that don’t need a discrete graphics card. You can even output to your home video system with connectivity to external home theater audio systems via a coaxial S/PDIF-out (SONY-PHILIPS Digital Interface) jack. It allows to transfer digital audio without converting to analog format and keeps the best signal quality.
It also includes a 10/100 Ethernet port, onboard 5.1 channel sound, and 2 SATA ports. With those 2 ports, you can add multiple hard drives to the system through RAID 0 and RAID 1. This remarkable card has multiple expansion slots: one x16, and one x1 PCIe slots, plus an additional 2 PCI slots. Build a powerful system: the Asus M2V-TVM is a great foundation.

The worst board
- Pros: I think that the computer turned on is a pro.
- Cons: Like other prople have said slow
slow slow. The chip set is even worse even with the update it did not fix anything. Forget about playing games on it. Turned my 7600 gt into a sputtering fool.
- Other Thoughts: I have to say that I am glad that I did not by this product from newegg. I just wish that I heard about Newegg before my purchase. Safe Mode is F5
Cheap n' Works
- Pros: Inexpensive for an Asus board + AM2, fired up first try and works great.
- Cons: Very slow POST with HDD and DVD-ROM on same IDE channel - very sure HDD was master and DVD was slave. Problem fixed with a second IDE cable.
- Other Thoughts: No O/C ability, not important for this budget build for me, but FYI.

YEAH! IT does!
- Pros: I spent over a grand for a re-do on my rig. AM2 X2 3.8, OCZ DDR2 800mhz, a FOXCONN 8800GTX. OK, now, to save a little on the board, I pick an ASUS! PROS? It lit.
- Cons: This is the worst mobo I've ever had & I've been building for 13 years!
It "DOES" support 800mhz dual channel, if you want your OCZ heat spreaders laying against each other when you juice it up! Asus, this is a raw deal. What? I have to spend $200.00 to get the banks separated? Your done. never again!
- Other Thoughts: Please Yahweh, help me to find a buyer at auction!
put this on your do not buy list
- Pros: it was in one piece
- Cons: wow can i say that this motherboard sucks.
yeagh everything works. but the features are cheap cheap cheaply made. sluggish after being on for more than an hour. If you use one apllication for a while it will put all of its resources towards a specific application that is running. and getting out of that application is slow and time comsuming.
- Other Thoughts: this is quite possibly the worst motherboard i have ever worked with
