5 out of 5 eggsExceptional Motherboard

Pros: While this board is billed as a gamers dream, with a multitude of overclocking options, it is also a great choice for virtually any application. The innovative cooling configuration of the north and southbridge is outstanding. Loaded with practical features and utilizing an Intel chipset, this is unquestionably the most versatile and rock solid motherboard I have built on in some time. Running Vista Ulimate 64bit with 4gig and no glitches. Even though the second PCIe slot will only run 4X, I don't see how you could go wrong with this motherboard.

Cons: Not really a con but it does carry a premium price tag. Just remember, you get what you pay for. Well worth the dinero.

Other Thoughts: I'm not a gamer so I can't speak for those who are but the BIOS features are a refreshing deviation from the norm of basic setup screens with a half dozen total user selectable options. Did I mention I am pleased with my purchase?

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid Board...

Pros: This board has been subjected to more overclocking torture than was probably needed. Setup, features, layout, and stability are the key factors that would make this a #1 to get item if your overclocking. While the P965 Express chipset is alittle outdated it is still rock solid, and has support for the future CPUs.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Q6600 @ 3.15 ghz/1.192 vcore, Commando, OCZ Platinum pc8500.... all off newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat MOBO

Pros: Great Motherboard. Has a TON of extra fan inputs. In the last 15 years of building PC's, this is one of the nicer boards i've seen. 45nm ready. The board fits great in the antec 900 case with a zulman 9700 fan. I'm running the Q6600 with no complaints.

Cons: The SATA and IDE ports are all facing the front of the case. This makes it a little tough to plug things in quickly on the build, but not a big deal overall

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Very fast motherboard. Setup is was extremly easy; no issues what so ever. Onboard buttons are nice, as well as the q-connectors. The heatpipes do a good job of cooling. Comes with optional fans for the heatpipes if you water cool. Tons of accessories (sata cables, adaptors, etc). Also comes with GRAW.

Cons: Is fairly pricey. Also, installing a Freezer 7 Pro was a pain..the holes on the board seemed to not line up with the pins on the Freezer 7. Took forever to get it on. Also, no onboard LED's like the other RoG boards.

Other Thoughts: ASUS Commando
Core 2 Duo E6550
2GB OCZ Platinum DDR2-800
250GB Seagate Barracuda
2xDVD Burners
eVGA GeForce 8600GT
Corsair VX450 PSU
Cooler Master Centurion 532 case

Makes a great budget build.

4 out of 5 eggsgiggidy-giggidy

Pros: this baby has more power the dick cheney. easily handles any oc'ing thrown at it. the extra pci slot between the 2 PCIe slots is amazingly nice in terms of air flow for dual GPU. the capless power is a nice touch. nothing to worry bout re long graphics cards (i have 8800gts in second PCIe slot and no clearance trouble w/ sata ports) the FOUR pci slots are nice for airflow configuration.

Cons: mine has a single busted pin in the first DIMM slot meaning that the slot is useless for memory (not bad enough to RMA tho) has intermiten RAM failure but i still cant tell if it is the mobo's fault or the ram's fault)

Other Thoughts: overclocker's dream. has the oc capabilities of its bigger bros but not the "huge" price tag. the onboard clear CMOS button has saved my behind many a time. its got pretty lights. and the best part (IMHO) is the fact that the board is a killer black instead of the standard ugly green

Pros: Great board. Has been in my system for close to a year and have had no problems with it. Runs stable and has alot of nice features.

Cons: Intel chipsets can't do SLI (without modified drivers).

Other Thoughts: Would recommend it to others.

5 out of 5 eggsBest mobo by far

Pros: most solid performer in the overclocking arena and lots of features like the lcd poster, onboard buttons and a TON of easy to use voltage settings

Cons: one of the issues where addressed in an early bios update and the buzz sound is due to the thermalpaste applied in the chipset cooler, a little cleaning and bingo.

Other Thoughts: I've had about five of this and 3 of them bought it from newegg i got the last one from an auction site and had the buzz. Cleaned up the heatsink and reapplied ac3 voila!.

2 out of 5 eggsDon't believe the reviews...

Pros: Excellent board layout, good capacitors, tweakable BIOS

Cons: Numerous problems with this board. Obviously has issues with memory requiring above the default 1.8v (Mushkin XP2-8500), causing the system to hang. You'll spend hours, even days, trying to get CMOS to reset so you can rush into the BIOS and set the correct voltage...and the onboard buttons for this WONT do the trick. Some boards, including mine, have a coil that buzzes constantly. Chipset cooling has poor contact and feels cheap and plasticky.

Other Thoughts: If you use high-end memory from companies like Corsair or Mushkin, expect a variety of headaches. In the 15 years I've been building my systems, I've never had a board with this many inherent problems.
