Pros: I like the board, plenty of options for connections. Expandable.
Cons: Main problem: Like another reviewer said, there is no support CD that comes with it. Odd, since the manual describes using the software on the support CD. Have to find your own drivers for XP. In my case, native video (which I am not using, but I hate to leave the unknown VGA controller like that in Device Manager) and SMBus controller. These are not available as downloads from the mb's page at Asus, either, just BIOS, LAN and SATA. This is just plain a hastle and annoys you when the manual tells you that somewhere a support CD actually exists.
Other Thoughts: Not my first Asus board, don't know if they're phasing this one out, but it seems it should still be supported if it's still for sale.
You can try using the win 2003 server drivers from our website and do a manual install to see if they install on the xp operating system that you are using. Also, you can try and download from intel's website and see if they have xp support drivers.

Does Not 'see' PCI-E E-SATA Card
Reviewed By: Photokina3 on 8/6/2009
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Was relatively easy to install and configure.
Cons: BIG CON - I have the Rosewill RSV-S5 and I am unable to get the board to 'see' the card that came with the Rosewill.
I know the card is good because it worked well in an XP Pro machine with a PCI-E slot.
I wanted to move the device to this motherboard running Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition, to make full use of 5 - 1 Terabyte drives. I'm about ready to replace this motherboard and find one that works. I have also tried A Rosewill RC-219 Card and this card is not 'seen' either.
Other Thoughts: Rosewill Page says it is compatible with Windows Server 2008.

Not exactly DOA but . . .

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: did boot into bios :)
Cons: Four of eight dimm slots were bad. Did not receive driver CD as advertised on the page. New egg customer support tried to pass it off as being an OEM product, so no driver cd was to be obtained. New Egg did refund $10.00 to purchase driver cd.
Other Thoughts: In two years of doing business with Newegg, this is the first time I have had any problem.
