3 out of 5 eggsJohn from Buffalo

Pros: None. Asus f'd this one up.

Cons: Bad Drivers or Bad RAID.

Other Thoughts: After working with Windows XP, Windows 22003, two 500GB drives (RAIDed), and then two 250GB drives (RAIDed), I still haven't resolved my issues with this board.

After the Windows (any version) launches, I do the F6 to custom load RAID drives, press enter, and the CD copy starts - I get a "check disk" error and blue screens. I think it's the provided ASUS intel 3000 RAID drivers, but I can't narrow it down ....

3 out of 5 eggsNice board, bad RAID.

Pros: 4 ethernet ports, ton of built-in RAID options, one needs a big case .. but it's a "server" board ... not your run of the mill kind of thing.

Cons: RAID is buggy. ASUS driver CD on SATA CDROM - won't load to make driver disk set.

Other Thoughts: I'm approaching 2nd day at setting up RAID 1. First to get the RAID drivers, had to install an IDE CDROM vs. the SATA DVD. Evidently the "DOS" boot loader uses a CDROM driver that doesn't support SATA cdroms.

The second part, was when I get into windows after the loading of the floppy drivers created from the CDROM .... I get a checkdisk /R error - blue screen of death.

haven't resolved as of yet, and can't say for sure it's the RAID or the drives. Im low level formatting the drives now.. just incase, but I think it's bunked at the RAID level.
