Maximus Rampage
- Pros: Its x38, you can leave it on auto and this smart board does the rest. If you overclock you need to knw what you are doing to achieve max performance and speed. After I broke it in it runs fine for me. It was a bear to tame this stallion but know she gallops like triple crown.
- Cons: Seemed to have many memory issues. It is the enhanced controller if you know how to set up bios should have know problem. If you run stock DDR2 then board will respond fine.
- Other Thoughts: Oh what am I running 8400 wolfdale 4.25ghz, FSB 500mhz, ddr2 1066 @ 1000, nuff said.

- Pros: -lots of options (OC) & features...
- Cons: -a nit-pick, but--I spent a day between e-mailing asus tech support and searching the 'net to find-out why the included 3DMark06 software was only the 'basic' version instead of the 'advanced edition' as described in the maximus manual and on the asus web-site, only to find-out that the registration key is included to upgrade to the advanced edition, but not readily identifiable as such...not such a bad 'Con' considering that's about all I've found so far, and if that's it................
- Other Thoughts: -my first build...put everything together, fired it up and it booted the first time, every light, fan, etc., worked perfectly...good parts, great company (Newegg that is)...
