5 out of 5 eggsGood features for this price point.

Pros: HDMI, good onboard realtek audio, price, ASUS... mATX would be great cheap board for MTPC system on a budget.
Stable... no crash issues with 4GB of GSkill 1066mHz DDR2 memory.

Cons: Needed to download driver package for NVidia chipset and other ASUS drivers to support Win7 x64. Disk that comes with board is outdated.
Board only recognizes 3.2GB of DDR2 memory unless BIOS is flashed to latest version. (Available from ASUS).
HDD activity connector was not compatible with the header connector to the case I purchased HEC Blitz (Newegg: N82E16811121096 $39)

Other Thoughts: Installed NVidia video card Gigabyte GeForce 8400 GS series DDR3 512MB - Newegg Product: N82E16814125359 ($29) and 24bit Diamond 7.1 Extreme sound card (the onboard sound is totally acceptable for most purposes).

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good price, good feature set, all features work. BIOS is solid, on-board video is passable. No problems with installation, stable as a table.

Cons: Didn't like OCZ RAM. Can't blame it. Worked fine with other RAM.

Other Thoughts: Makes a good core for a cheap system. I'd be more careful about sticking to the QVL for RAM if I used it again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mythtv board

Pros: Maybe the best board I've ever bought. For the price, the features can't be beat. I picked this board based on a previous reviewer saying it was the "best myth board ever" and I totally agree. With a little bit of patching to the alsa driver, HDMI audio is even supported. As far as I can tell all features are supported under linux (audio, video, raid, acpi, etc.).

Cons: none at all!

5 out of 5 eggsWorking well for my needs

Pros: Easy set up. Clear description. Good price.

Cons: Bios (qfan) only controls CPU fan. I found I needed to buy a new PWM fan to daisy chain the cpu and case fans to reduce speed of case fan and reduce fan noise. If you're looking for a quiet system, keep this in mind.

Other Thoughts: This mobo was for an upgrade of a older Dell system and I've been out of the loop on the latest mobo/chip standards. I was able to pull this change off fairly easily and based on what I know I find a good board for the money.
NewEgg continues to be a great source for parts, in my limited experience.

1 out of 5 eggsAsus going down the tubes

Pros: If you want a motherboard with on board graphics and HDMI. Would be a great media center board.

Cons: Won't boot up unless I reset bios. Tried different sticks of memory. All hardware works on another board.

Other Thoughts: Asus isn't what they used to be. I used to be only Asus. Trying other manufactures has opened my eyes. It is greener on the other side. I owned a P5B prior and it only lasted a year. Same with my friends( I don't over clock)

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: -Almost no configuration required to boot. The system was pretty much plug and play.
-Good chipset.

Cons: -Bios options are little bit limited.
-Onboard Gigabit LAN NIC died after about a month. Fortunately it didn't effect anything else on the system.

Other Thoughts: -Overall a good board for this price range.

5 out of 5 eggsupdate to mythTV motherboard

Pros: works perfect with HD-5500 tunercard....but in order to get HD to play smoothly you need to offload the video playback to the onboard video....you need to modify the playback settings in the front end...edit the high quality settings and set to standard xmvc for all of them....then select openGL in both additional settings just below the standard xmvc setting.....needs to be set for ALL 5...also enable opengl vsync....

when playing back transcoded blueray rips in .mp4 make sure you are using mplayer for smooth playback....

Cons: none...this is hands down the BEST mythtv motherboard EVER......

Other Thoughts: keep in mind that XMCV is only supported up to the 7 series nvidia cards....and despite what people are saying XMVC CAN be used for HD playback in 1080p!!!!!!!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat board, easy to overclock, bang for your buck!

Pros: Bought with a Core 2 Duo E8400 and easily overclocked from 3.0 Ghz to 3.6 Ghz by changing one MB setting... Runs max temp 35 degrees with stock cooler! Video works great.

Cons: Had to flash BIOS firmware using a flash drive (you could use a floppy) because it didn't recognize my CPU out of the box. Also, supports only 4GB RAM, despite three slots. But for 70 bucks, come on!

Other Thoughts: Easy to install, nice BIOS options, good board.

3 out of 5 eggssome disappointments

Pros: layout worked well enough for my case, no major problems in setup, manual was nice and clear on setting up jumpers and connectors

Cons: * this board apparently cannot boot from USB, why does a modern board not do this?
* Mine arrived with a non-functioning DVI/HDMI connector, too bad I chose this specifically for that connector
* BIOS options are quite sparse and there is no internal help system to explain the options

5 out of 5 eggsawsome mythtv board

Pros: great motherboard for mythtv HDMI works perfect except audio....you must use the sound card jack....running this on the 3rd HDMI port on my 42 inch phillips flatscreen i just got from the egg...HDMI #3 lets you run separate audio in per the instruction manual for the TV.

Cons: none!

Other Thoughts: onboard nvidia7100 works great in 1080p and i can play apple 1080p clips ALL DAY LONG!!!!! i could also do this using a turbo cache 6200 but those are hard to come by now.

GREAT mythtv board and everything works.....seems ubuntu 8.04.1 has the best support and works just great compared to 8.10.....
