4 out of 5 eggsMOBO install DVD and RAID

Pros: Tech Support was amazing this guy knew his stuff hands down. RAID 1 is actually pretty fast at dual 1 TB Seagates SATA II. Flashing BIOS is a walk in the park (easy) and I really like all of the options in the BIOS.

Cons: The DVD that came with the board was junk, meaning the drivers on it were corrupt (per tech support) so I downloaded the chipset drivers from nvidia only because they had a new release than asus. Then I downloaded the rest audio etc. from asus site. Took time to do this.

Other Thoughts: Wish this model type came in a 1600 FSB speed. I had to update the BIOS because my awesome Intel dual core duo 3.16 GHz at 1.3 GHz FSB "BX80570E8500" wasn't detected in the POST. I was prompted to update the BIOS to..."Release it's full power" that is what it said, NICE! 4 GB OCz PC 8500 Reaper Series settings clock speeds entered manually in the BIOS and Windows set to 4096 with PAE switch and this system ROCKS!!! One last thing the Marvell raid driver is for the external SATA connection.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus Quality

Pros: So far I've had this board for 9 months and its has yet to let me down, the overall layout and design of the board was rather excellent. Even in SLI you still have access to a PCI slot for an add on sound card. The on board cooling works and is improved further with the addition of the included fan. Overall a good board.

Cons: The only flaw with this board is the lack of EPP support and the less then excellent overclocking potential, both V droop and V drop are rather bad.

Other Thoughts: Going to be upgrading to i7 nest week only because I found someone to sell my motherboard, CPU and RAM to and really want to see what i7 has to offer.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Advanced user board...This thing is a beast standard, lets not get started with the advance overcloaking abilitys, Easy install huge takes up the whole side panel, looks good with see thru side windows too

Cons: Ive had it almost a year now, runs great still, asus hasnt let me down yet, I do have a slight problem when my PC runs for extended periods of time ie 5+ hours, the standard tools seem to "freeze" or stall, and it doesnt let you restart ur PC, you have to restart via ur restart button, nothing major, little hassle tho

Other Thoughts: Curious what could cause that "freeze" if its defected id like to know i have my warrenty still newegg =)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Mobo

Pros: First Asus MOBO. Ive used most other brands either in my personal rigs or ones Ive built for others. Asus has the best packaging there is and their customer service rules. Try getting rebate tacking with XFX, EVGA or others. I had an XFX version of this same board and go the ASUS as a result of an RMA. ASUS provides you wth a great layout, some nice extras (like FP header connectors). Board posted on my bench so I loaded it all into my case and havent looked back. Great board. great company. I will be buying my next mobo from ASUS.

Cons: Only a couple onboard USB ports, no onboard power, reset buttons. Would like to see a Post code 7 seg display as well.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board to freshen up my system while I wait for some more I7 mobo choices to come to market.

This board fits the bill, I didnt have to change my ram or CPU. It also allowed my to buy another GTX280 to give SLI a try (which is great BTW).

3 out of 5 eggsIts just O.K.

Pros: I needed a mobo that would work w/ a Q6600 quad core cpu @ 1066 fsb in one of my slower video editing machines (masscool cpu water cooler, 850 modular psu tpq-850, 285gtx sc edition, 1x 320 gb wd raptor, 1 tb wd green), but at the same time I wanted 1333 fsb capability in case I feel like adding this pc with a beefier processor (when quad-cores are cheaper) to my render farm when I retire it. This mobo was the only one that seemed to fit the bill - I wasn't looking for anything permanent since I will most likely be retiring this pc, and this mobo was a cheap and easy solution.

Cons: - Lacks dual-Ethernet
- O.C. ability lacking
For video editing fsb, and cpu power are a big help. This comp def lags behind my core i7 extreme edition pc, with evga classified mobo, and the same psu in my aforementioned build + 2x 320 gb raptors and 1 intel ssd

Other Thoughts: ASUS quality cannot be beat

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this board

Pros: None

Cons: Installed it and updated the bios with all new hardware, drives, memory, video card, psw etc. It was working fine then stopped booting up. Tested and retested 2 memory slots dead tried 4 different vendors for memory stil the slots are dead 2nd Asus board that this has happened to me on. Never had a problem with other venders like Gigabyte,Ecs,or Dfi going back to using them. Goodbye Asus!!!!!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We are sorry for this inconvenience. Please let us know if we can assist in the RMA process by contacting us at and reference case number "NE404658".

Best Regards,

ASUS Support Team

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Great board - it's fast, so far rock solid - make sure board is updated with new BIOS ver. 1402 makes a world of difference.

Cons: Must be selective with memory used - it likes Kingston memory, others are a hit or miss. I'm using Crucial Ballistix & so far going strong.

Other Thoughts: Board not for the noob - you must know how to set it up before using. Unless you keep everything set on "Auto" in BIOS.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat overclocker

Pros: There's bound to be some defective's out there. I happened to not have one, so it's 5 star's on this one. I have my core 2 duo E6550 2.33ghz to 3.15ghz ran prime 95 for 4 hours and it's stable.

My one regret is that I ordered and OCZ Reaper DDR26400 for my Asus i750 a little over a month ago and I cracked my mobo. So I'm stuck with this 6400 instead of 8500.

But it still does the job, my fsb it's running at 1800mghz and memory is at 900mghz it's in sync mode 1:1 at 1.33125vcore and 1.4nbcore .

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 2.33ghz@3.15ghz
Asus P5N-T Deluxe i780
OCZ Reaper DDR2 6400 800mghz@900mghz 4 gigs
Asus GTX260 576/999/1242@660/1125/1425

1 out of 5 eggs2 RMA's already

Pros: Nice features.

Cons: Freezes then will not POST. From reviews, it seems this board has many issues. Read carefully and choose your board wisely.

Other Thoughts: ASUS tech support is very slow. Sent this board in when it quit working. After a month, they sent it back and stated nothing was wrong with it. I unpackaged it, put it in my new case with new RAM, Video card, CPU and it did not work! Called ASUS back, received another RMA and sent it back. Called 10 days later, they found it unopened on tech's desk. Called 5 days later and was informed they would send a new board because my board was indeed bad. Going on 2 months without my computer now! How could bad board be missed the first time? VERY BAD TECH SUPPORT.

1 out of 5 eggsp5n-t review

Pros: - Nice looking board
- hookup was super simple

Cons: - One year of ownership, my computer would freeze at least one a week. I reinstalled the OS, and replace the memory and it still froze. Narrowed it down to this board. I replaced this board with an EVGA, i'm hoping for the best.
