5 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard for the price

Pros: Runs great and have had no problems at all. Would recommend this board to anyone wanting a budget computer that runs most applications and that includes gaming.

Cons: Ideally not a motherboard primarily for a gaming computer but this thing can it.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Board

Pros: This board is cheap and has alot of features , supports 1066 ram with a little work, overal pretty good board for home office

Cons: Heat , this board has an issue with the south bridge getting hot, everything in my pc runs very cool , except that south bridge , it gets so hot you cant touch the heat sink , it will burn your finger quick and this causes it not to be able to game at all , you will get lockups and random crashes from south bridge running at 170F + I am looking into finding some south bridge cooling and seeing how that goes.

Other Thoughts: if you want a small atx game rig you might look elsewhere, however if have good cooling in your case and just run office type things it seems to be fairly stable.

3 out of 5 eggsCAUTION

Pros: Inexpensive mobo with just the right amount featuers (sata slots, pci x etc)

Cons: Newegg does not advertise the CPU wattage on motherbaords. Even though this CPU supports AM2 and AM2+ sockets it MIGHT NOT SUPPORT YOUR CPU. This motherboard only provides 95Watts to the CPU. If your cpu requires more wattage be prepared to experience pathetic performance.

Other Thoughts: Newegg really needs to advertise the cpu wattage on their motherboard specifications. Chalk this up to experience I guess, but I bought 5 of these on a build and only discovered the wattage issue after the newegg return/exchagne policy.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's Cheap, It works

Pros: It's small, it's cheap, it even overclocks. Runs a Athlon 64 X2 4400+ at 2.6Ghz. Nice layout, especially on a Micro. It runs on a 20 pin 300W power supply.

Cons: Only 2 SATA ports so that can be a problem. Only 2 DDR2 slots, most boards have 4 now. Not too sure why it needs a 24pin.

Other Thoughts: Really can't complain for the price. However, I wish I got something more robust.

It wouldn't recognize an IDE CD Drive on boot, had to fiddle in the bios to get it to boot off of it.

5 out of 5 eggsLINUX - UBUNTU 8.04 LTS

Pros: small - inexpensive - ASUS (I've built at least 30 ASUS mainboard machines, they all worked great, including this m2n mx se, it's RUNNING UBUNTU 8.10 now and ran UBUNTU 8.04 also just fine.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: If you need more ports, higher end graphics, more slots, then buy an ATX not a Micro

5 out of 5 eggsstill a great board

Pros: great for general use

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: follow up review from last summer: I have purchased 14 of these - the 13th one was bad (what luck?) - too late to send back to new egg. Asus sent me another bad one - the second shipping charge paid by asus (still waiting for a replacement). One of the techs at asus said I wasnt using enough power with a 400w ps - he was an idiot. Most of the techs at asus were cooperative but you must be patient with them to prove a mobo is bad. All the pc's are still working reliably. Use amd 64x2 5000+ and 2gb corsair ram and you wont have any problems. If you are a high end gamer keep shopping.
