This is a great mobo!
- Pros: I'm using this board for Windows Home Server, so I bought it board specifically for the PCI-X slots. All I can say is "This board Rocks". It solid as a rock, has all the necessary drivers for Server 2003 and enough ports to satisfy nearly anyone.
- Cons: Location of PCIe 16x slots could have been better thought out, but not a big deal.
- Other Thoughts: This WHS is running 24/7, supporting 18TB of HDD space. Its not the newest technology, but its a mature design with good support from Asus. Throw in the $50.00 rebate and there's not a better deal to be had.
Asus Mobo
- Pros: This board is rock solid. Have had no issues at all with it. Overclocking could not be made any easier. 5 egg's all day
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: As good of a buy as it was I also got a 50 dollar rebate from Asus.
Ummmm.........
- Pros: The features in bios are CRAZY!!!!! You can tweak almost everything. There's a wide variety of ports: pcieX16, pci-x, pci, etc.... Tons of SATA ports.
- Cons: Freeking motherboard killed my $400 raid card in a day and a half. I was getting horrible speeds on my PCI-X raid card, and then BAM! dead. ASUS said that some cards aren't compatible. I thought there were standards for a reason... PCI-X is always PCI-X. 3.3V, THAT'S WHY THERE'S STANDARDS!!!!!! Wouldn't do a thing to help me on the raid card it killed. Returned immediately. Thnx Newegg for being AWESOME.
- Other Thoughts: This has been the same experience I've had with every ASUS product I've come into contact with. Bought it b/c it had better specs. Big mistake. Only reason for 2 eggs is the # of ports... Go buy the supermicro C2SBX+. ROCK SOLID. It's been my 3rd supermicro and works FLAWLESSLY.
