5 out of 5 eggsProbably the best 775 motherboard that has ever existed!

Pros: I had this motherboard last year for around 8 months, and in that time it saw a Q9450 @ 3.8GHz with Dominators running at 1100MHz. Pretty insane overclocking board thanks to those 8 power phases and very efficient heatsinks doing a great job at keeping the X48 chip cool. Bios is very user friendly and has many options to adjust your pc's settings. Overall, a fantastic motherboard, if only 775 lived on further :( I have sadly sold it because I upgraded to the X58/i7 platform. Oh well, I guess technology evolves so quickly that you still feel nostalgia of that good ol Rampage Formula.

Cons: nothing that i can remember

Other Thoughts: Awesome board hands down.

4 out of 5 eggsRampage Formula

Pros: I liked having the advanced X48 chipset with the DDR2 modules since at that time DDR3 was new on the market and expensive compared to DDR2. Also other reviewers had good things to say about its compatibility with Linux.

Cons: Showing its again with SATA 3G/s only, Only Quad cores supported, etc.

Other Thoughts: Motherboard link needs to be updated to:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Replacement for P5K Prem/Wifi

Pros: Everything, great package, even at this late date.

Cons: No wifi, however I removed the Wifi module from the P5K Premium and will install it. It should work, drivers are already installed.

Other Thoughts: P5K has sporadic bios issues, needed a quick drop in replacement, X48 works fine, southbridge is same, dropped right in, just needed a creative soundcard driver update.

Overclocks to 3.8 with a X3210 from 2.13ghz default, not bad. Not hot either, feature loaded.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome MOBO!

Pros: So many BIOS settings to tweak that you can overclock a q6600 from 2.4GHz to 3.62GHz stable, in no time. I recently upgraded to a q9650 and went from 3.0GHz to 4.2GHz by changing only a three settings, everything else is: auto.

Cons: At first the many tweakable BIOS settings was a con because I didn't know what I was doing. But after a lot of online research I found that overclocking is just simple math, plus trial and error.

The massive Bios settings may not a con, but the many days of research definitely was.

Other Thoughts: I'll keep buying ASUS motherboards due to the fact they are super easy to use and rock solid.

1 out of 5 eggsOpen Boxed experience went south

Pros: I wish I am able to have some nice words in this section

Cons: I should have known buying open box motherboard is a high-risk investment.

Other Thoughts: Once the heatsink is clipped on, the board refuses to boot up and appeared to be stuck into a loop that keep restarting. To figure out what's really gone wrong, I actually remove the heatsink taking the risk of frying my CPU. Voila, it boots up. But of course, the system shut off without too long due to CPU overheat.
I've also tried different heatsinks. The stocked one and some after market ones. Same thing! A little bit pressure simply brings the system into halt.

Now I'm stuck between returning this board to NewEgg for the refund or sending the board back to ASUS for a repair(I have deep doubt if it can be repaired though)

3 out of 5 eggswin 7 problems

Pros: Nice mobo, easily configurable for OC.

Cons: I never had a problem until I decided to go x64 win 7. I had xp 32 bit before with no problems when when i went to windows 7 x64 the thing is so unreliable. It continuously crashes directly after a fresh install and when i did get it to work, it only worked for a month or so before giving me more problems. Also when i originally installed win 7 the software and drivers were not avaliable for win 7 yet.

Other Thoughts: This was my first asus board and now I am realizing why some people stay away from them. This will be my last asus mobo.
