5 out of 5 eggsMoney well worth it

Pros: Many options in BIOS.
Great over clocker
Rock solid - has never failed

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board from Newegg in February of 2009 and this thing has been rock solid. From the get-go I installed an E8500, overclocked it to 4 GHz, installed 4gigs of RAM and never looked back. Original price = $219.99

System Specs (same since build in 2009)

5 out of 5 eggsGood MB

Pros: All pieces in box, including sound card. SATA connection comes out side and does not interfere with case. Error free startup just like the other ASUS boards I've used.

Cons: Documentation does not show front panel audio connection location.

Other Thoughts: It just works.

5 out of 5 eggsWhat a great motherboard!

Pros: Great bios interface, windows utilities are easy to use, drivers are stable, lots of USB plugs and the chipset cooling works great. Lots of options to tweak and overclock every aspect of the board. Best of all, I only paid $100 for my board back when these were selling for over $300 when they were first released! Great product, would definitely buy another...

Cons: Haven't been able to test out crossfire yet, since I don't have the money to buy another video card yet.

Its a shame that hard drives are the only limiting factor in modern computers. That's my biggest complaint about having such a screaming system.

Other Thoughts: P5E with a Q6700 @ 3.5 ghz and 6 GB G. Skill 1066...

I bought my board refurbished through a local computer builder for super cheap! It even came with all the accessories and cables.

Absolutely dominates everything I can throw at it!!! I could overclock it farther, but haven't found a need to! I have never reached 100% CPU load (or even much more than 50-60% at that, no matter what I run, or how much), and still runs stable after months of continuous up-time.

5 out of 5 eggsP5E- Deluxe Rocks!

Pros: Worked great out of the box - no missing parts - replaced a Asus Striker Extreme 680i - I have yet to be let down by asus products.. I slapped my q6600 -- 8gb of mushkin 1066 ddr2 -- 4870x2 -- 2x320gb raid 0 for speed -- 1000watt tuniq ripper -- LG bluray drive -- I flashed my bios to a RAMPAGE FORMULA!! WORKS GREAT !! popped it on some crazy overclocking settings. couldnt be happier!

Cons: none at the moment

Other Thoughts: the reasons i upgraded from the striker extreme motherboard was for compatibility.. the striker wasnt able to hold a steady overclock with the q6600 and 8gb of 1066 ram.. so i had to switch to something newer.. the striker is a great board if your just overclocking a dual core and only have 4gb of ram.. but if your trying to double up get this board and max it out it'll take whatever you throw at it.. another thing that had me upgrade was using the 4870x2 now so it has cross fire support instead of tri - sli.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mobo

Pros: Great board, a lot of oc options/ potential. Picked up all settings and booted proper right out of the box. All parts were there, and it runs like a dream. The power saving features seem a bit useless to me, but it says they are saving me money, so I suppose that's a plus.

Cons: None, couldn't be happier.

Other Thoughts: Asus P5E Deluxe
Intel Q8400 @ 3.5Ghz OC'ed
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 CPU Cooler
XFX Radeon HD 4890 XXX Edition (soon to be crossfire)
4 gigs of Mushkin 1066 DDR2
Windows XP Professional 64-Bit Edition (soon win7pro)
Pretty good gaming build.

4 out of 5 eggsNo Rebate...

Pros: So far I am extremely happy with this MB - there are tons of overclocking settings. But I am not writing this to review the board....

Cons: None on the product.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board over another option because there was an rebate offered ... from Asus. Low and behold I got my rebate back in the mail stating that it could not be delivered as addressed.... Funny, because I did exactly as Asus stated in the rebate instructions. I cut the address from the rebate form and attached it to the outside of the envelope and yet it comes back saying it can't be delivered to the address. Now it is going on 30 days past the purchase date and the rebate window is closing. I guess I can kiss that money good by and my trust in Asus as a company.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: Great motherboard. Good value.

Cons: I bought an Intel Core Duo in a combo deal and for some reason the temperature sensor kept showing my CPU was overheating and registered a constant temperature of 100 degrees celcius. But once I updated the Bios to the most recent version and it worked fine. There were instructions on how to update the Bios on ASUS' website. I used their EZ ASUS updating tool but they have just basic drivers for the CD/DVD-ROM so when I recorded the bios update on recordable DVDs it didn't read them. I had to go out and buy CD-R and burn the updates on that type of media and then the motherboard would recognize the bios update file. Hope that helps someobody along the way.

5 out of 5 eggsBoard Does Virtualization required by Hyper-V

Pros: I bought this motherboard to support a development Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V environment.

Virtualization comes from the CPU and is supported via the bios and there is no direct bios setting on this board to turn it on or off. Hence I was initially worried.

There is another option needed for virtualization, one of the CPU command states, and it is there in bios and on by default. But long story short, this board and CPU I bought allow for virtualization and I was happy!

Does raid, bios can be flashed by USB! Very nice. Do that first thing when building and you won't be sorry.

I almost went with a cheaper board but am glad I spent the extra $40 to get this board. I have been buying Asus boards and have not been disappointed and this is the best board yet.

Cons: I have no direct desire to tweak the board to overclock, but I find the interface too daunting to try. Its the best interface I have seen mind you, but I am still a novice on overclocking per-se and though the features are there, its not for the faint of heart.

Other Thoughts: Side SATA make sense for possible extended overflight of video card, but in cramped cases, it will be a challenge to get those wires in place. You may want to plug in the wires to the SATA first before screwing on the motherboard.

ASUS, if not all manufacturers, provide information on whether your boards support virtualization.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: energy saving,o.c friendly, being a x48 chipset the thing screams in speed, very nice sound card with board, reliable, and a hidden gem it can actually be flashed with rampage formula bios very easy to do also, and it looks very nice with the copper.

Cons: none really my memory posted what it was supposed to without a boot loop unlike my last gigabyte board and its just been smooth sailing from there.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board; Know What You're Getting!

Pros: Optical and Coaxial audio outs
Plenty of USBs
Free 5.1 Sound Card (works great for me)
Liquid cooling fan (o_o)
Lots of ASUS utilities and overclocking options
Way cool ASUS connector for the Power Switch and HDD light, makes connecting those things a breeze.
Dual PCIe x16 2.0 graphic ports

Cons: It's a CROSSFIRE board, with an Intel chipset, so no SLI
(this sounds like a no-brainer, but it surprised me)
No on-board VGA
The aluminum part of the motherboard heatsink feels rather flimsy, worried about fitting a Zalman cooler on my CPU later
The real kicker here is cost vs features, with it being a legacy-free board with no video chipset, I can't figure out why it's $50 more than the ASUS sli board with a nvidia chipset. This is what cost it the egg.

Other Thoughts: Very happy with the board, though, all in all.
ASUS quality is awesome. I mean, who else throws in a free liquid cooling fan with their motherboards?
So it's my fault for not reading adequately, but SLI is only possible on Nvidia chipsets, far as I can tell, whereas Crossfire is possible on both Intel and ATI/AMD chipsets.
Native DDR2 1066 without a voltage adjustment was nice
the AI Nap mode is a great power-saver, it's like hibernation at the speed of sleep.
System:
Intel Q8400 @2.8 GHz
4 GB (2x2) G Skill dual channel DDR2 1066 kit
Asus Geforce GTX260 (core 216) Nvidia card
Antec Earthwatts 650watt 80+ PSU
Seagate Barricuda 500GB 7200rpm sata hdd
