4 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: Worked out of the box, first try. No fiddly issues.

Cons: No POST beep. When I had hardware problems, this made it very hard to diagnose.

When I upgraded to Win7, I was disappointed to find that the software tools weren't well supported. They worked, but it was clunky.

Other Thoughts: After 2 years of ownership, I had a problem with the power button on my case. In the process of working it out, I unintentionally flipped the power on-and-off about 10 times in one minute. This killed something on the motherboard. BIOS wouldn't POST, and I had to get a new MB. Maybe understandable, as this is a poor way to treat an MB, but it was still disappointing. The MB was supposed to be resistant to ESD. I wish this board had survived my power-button problem.

3 out of 5 eggsAlways had problems...

Pros: Supported a lot at the time.

Cons: Always seemed to have problems. CPU fan wouldn't start up on booting and I knew it would have to be reset because it would not post. Some repeating needed. Now computer randomly locks till I hit the reset button. $160 got me 3 years, kind of. Okay? Might still buy from Asus?

Other Thoughts: If it never had a posting problem that was slow to develop, then this locking problem would not be so frustrating. Hey, look, I decided to write this review exactly 3 years to the day from when I bought it. Which is exactly how long the "limited" warranty is on it. Hmm.

4 out of 5 eggssolid mobo

Pros: very solid mobo, has not gave me any problems and runs like a beast.

Cons: unlike its deluxe counterpart it doesnt have the wireless adapters which wouldve been nice, and doesnt have shiney good looking heatsinks but hey it goes in a computer case not a beauty show.

Other Thoughts: for the difference of 50$ between the deluxe your not losing out on much.

i also spilt water all over my mobo by accident, twice! i now have two fried ram slots and im thinking about getting this same mobo again.

1 out of 5 eggsEats memory, reboots at random

Pros: Features for price

Cons: I am on my third set of DDR3-1600 memory sticks, which seem to last 2-3 months before developing errors.
Random system reboots which may or may not be attributable to memory errors.

Other Thoughts: I'm giving up on this one.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: This motherboard was cheap for what it came with. Has enough of everything for my computer. newegg's shipping is always top notch.

Cons: the motherboard's own 'boot' screen, and it took me this long to get it.

Other Thoughts: After ordering two wrong motherboards, I got this one and it worked right out of the box.

2 out of 5 eggsP5Q3 Frustration

Pros: Good onboard sound.

Cons: Seems to reboot eradically. I can't trust this motherboard to remain operational while doing anything productive.

Other Thoughts: There seems to be a general decline in ASUS board quality.
