Pros: Easy to overclock in bios Stable OC speeds with memory and CPU A lot of options in bios to change anything you can imagine
Cons: Board worked good for 2 weeks then I thought it died on me, reset bios worked good for another week before it died completely. Stopped spinning my CPU fan and 1 case fan. Mobo speaker wouldn't even beep when turned on.
ASUS tech support not to bad. Got redirected to 4 different numbers before I could get an RMA setup. Tech set one up for me, called RMA department the next day 3 times after I was told they opened at 8:30, messages kept telling me the RMA department was closed. Tech finished the RMA departments job for me.
Southbridge voltage only has 2 settings. Neither of which are correct for my PHII 955. (1.25v is correct)
Memory voltage only moves in .2 settings, making me over volt my memory or under volt it. (1.65v is correct setting)
Express gate useless just disabled.
Power and reset buttons on Mobo useless when you have a bigger video card installed in the bottom PCI-E slot. Evga Nvidia 9800GTX covers almost completely both buttons.
Other Thoughts: AI Tweaker needs to be fiixed. At one point with it on with my multiplier set to anything higher then factory (x16) it was setting my CPU volts to 1.6v+. Got as high as 1.8v at x19.
Not sure if there is a northbridge sensor on the board but no program recognizes it, not even the Asus PC Probe II they give to you on the dvd.
Would be nice if they gave you a thinner CPU Fan mount. My Zalman 120mm is very loose on this board. You touch it and it moves. I don't want to modify it to loose the warranty on the board, which I'm sure I would.

Nice board, except for Cross Fire and Hyper Transport

I'll spare you the boring stuff, (CD Rom, mouse, etc.)
This machine runs fantastic while it works... oh, unless you want to drop 2 of those Dark Knights in for Cross Fire. (See below)
Cons: #1 Stay the hell away from Cross Fire with those Video Cards. Average Temp on the main card was 150 degrees, spiking to 160 when taxed. I actually burned my finger on the heat pipe. So I removed the bottom one and boxed it up for a spare, added a Delta 90mm 102cfm case fan and a Thermaltake TMG SL1 A2414 80mm Blue LED Dual PCI Slot Fan, just below the Vido Card. Now it's 113 degrees max while playing AION.
Now... I have one phrase for you... "Hyper Transport Sync Flood Error".... Get used to it... You will see it often. Even with the BIOS set to Automatic. I manually set every speed as well... No Joy I applied every update...No Joy I removed one stick of Ram, going from 8GB to 6, (I read somewhere that Vista performs better with 3 sticks of ram as opposed to 4)...No Joy I updated the driver... No Joy I toyed with every setting in the BIOS that might pertain Still no Joy!!!!
I spent over $1600 bucks on parts alone. ARRRGGGHHH!
Other Thoughts: Maybe I'll try to make this work with Windows 7.
Oh... Since removing one of the Video Cards, the crashing has went from 3 times a night, (about 4 hours total), to 1 time a night with spikes that let it go for a day or two without a crash. Unfortunately, my luck only allows it to crash while I'm doing something particularly dangerous in AION, so I can reboot, log back in and pay the Soul Healer...

2nd Build and Loving it still
Reviewed By: Freedom on 2/2/2010
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year

Pros: Flawless results as expected. This is my second build with this and again no headaches with error-less results, my wife is loving her build as I am.
Cons: Express gate is useless with an OS. Overclocking utilities are only good for monitoring the MOBO/component status. I have noticed that when I hook up the front bottom fan on my wife's build to the MOBO instead of the PSU like I did mine it doesn't give the rpm's like the PSU does and doesn't respond to the bios moding of the rpms. It'd be nice to have added controls that override what they run at.
Other Thoughts: ASUS should stop thinking of ways for inexperienced overclockers to overclock easier and actually get creative with something added no other company has, maybe some led temp.,voltage or some error coded display on the boards. (Something more use full)!!!
