Pros: This board is getting unfair reviews.
People are rating it poorly because they do not understand the technology.
This is an AM3 Motherboard.

Better price than core i7 motherboards.
ATI 790gx is the best onboard graphics chipset you can buy right now IMO.

Other Thoughts: The reason this mobo does not work with AMD 940 is
because that CPU does not have a ddr3 memory controller. The 940 is an AM2 CPU. AM3 CPUs have a DUAL CHANNEL DDR3 controller meaning it uses a pair instead of 3 memory modules like core i7.
You cannot use an AM2 CPU on this board because it lacks a DDR3 controller. AM3 CPUs DO have a DDR2 memory controller AND a DDR3 memory controller. So you can use them with some DDR2 AM2+ motherboards.

Pros: This is a good board. People, you don't seem to understand what AMD said. A.) AM3 boards don't support AM2+ processors, BUT AM2+ boards support AM3 processors. B.) AMD processors only support dual channel DDR3, not triple like the i7: no known performance benefit has been shown for triple channel.
Its a good board, its solid, and will do what you want if you have an AM3 and DDR3.

Cons: Like all other motherboards the BIOS is about as intuitive as programming a VCR.

Other Thoughts: BIOS revisions will help, Crossfire is only 8x, its not too fancy, not too low end, its a workhorse.

Pros: I would definitely buy a ASUS board again. It was real easy to install. A Rookie could use this board. My new system runs quit and I don't plan on any OC. OC is just pointless in my opinion. Other than the screen being on I wasn't sure if my computer was on it is that silent as compared to my old 5 year old machine.

Pros: great layout, Bios is amazing, reasonably attractive, integrated video is a plus, hybrid crossfire using integrated video card with a pci-e video card is a really cool concept.

Cons: x16 and x8 crossfire is kinda lame, usb and sound plugs can be a pain to access if your power supply is situated in the bottom of your case, you might have to sacrifice one of your case fans if you have a big video card.

Other Thoughts: Worked great. I wanted to get a better video card so i went out and bought a discounted 9600gt for 60 bucks. it wouldnt work at all with the card so i assumed that the card must be dead, so i returned it for a radeon hd 4650, but that one didnt work either so i sent in my motherboard for repairs only to get a completely dead motherboard returned to me. I purchased an Asus Crosshair III Formula motherboard to replace this one and it was well worth the money. If you have the dough you really should get the Crosshair III formula over this one.
