5 out of 5 eggsAwesome boards

Pros: I've been running two of these boards since Feb. 2010 and both have been flawless. With the i7-920, I still haven't found the need to OC anything yet.

Cons: I wish the x4 slot was above the two x16 slots instead of between them. It's rendered useless with my graphics card installed in the 1st slot, which is where they recommend it for single graphics solutions.

Other Thoughts: If my son's computer died right now, I'd be hunting one of these boards, even if I had to get it used.

5 out of 5 eggsBest micro board

Pros: Best mATX board I have used. Only issue is space, however this board has gotten great reviews on mb speed due to less travel time. I have overclocked my i7 920 to 4.4ghz 24hr stable. It cools great. Took it off 4.4ghz because it heats up my room, while keeping the CPU cool. Now I run it at 4.0ghz, for over 2 years now.

Cons: Only 1 usable PCI-E slot if you have a good graphics card.

2 out of 5 eggsA little Wonky

Pros: Lots of bang for the buck. 2 PCI express slots, 6 mem slots and great bios.

Cons: BSOD daily. Would not recognize memory half the time. unstable and very tight for my application (I admit, my fault) barely enough room for two vid cards. Lower card makes use of additional SATA and other conections and slots unusable.

Other Thoughts: Asus support moves at the speed of snails. After reading several negative experiences with Asus and the "rush" guidelines, I decided to go the snails pace way. Was advised to take detailed pics of the mobo b4 sending back. This is a slow and arguous process. Getting answers is impossible. Departments are all over the country so one hand cant stand the other.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: It is a great board. It was one of the newer X58 boards which took advantage of the newer technology. It is stable as a rock and runs very solid even under maximum overclock.
I had an i7 960 and then went to a Xeon processor (same thing but Xeon has better QPi, bandwidth etc) and man this thing flew! Was able to overclock it to 4 ghz and when I ran a benchmark, it was in the top class of "performance machines". I brought it back down to stock performance and it still had high numbers. 7.9 on the Win 7 rating. Highly recommend this board if you want good performance.

Cons: The ram issue has been the only thing I had a problem with. I can honestly admit I didnt read the instructions and put just "any" ram in it and it didnt boot up correctly. Once I read the instructions and purchased the correct ram-everything was hunky dorie.

Other Thoughts: Had this mobo for about 6 months and threw everything at it and it still performs 100%

1 out of 5 eggsDont buy from asus

Pros: decent board, fun, nice oc features

Cons: little buggy, no customer support

Other Thoughts: I have had my glitchy Rampage 2 Gene for over a year before the board finally gave out on me, luckily it was still under warranty, I had contacted customer support and they sent me through the typical trouble shooting process which is understandable, they issued me an RMA, I sent the board in and in two weeks I received a "reconditioned board" that had been damaged, missing parts, parts floating around in the anti-static bag and best of all obvious physical damage to the heat sink. I suppose since I really needed the board back I could have just accepted it and got on with my life...but why would I since the board I sent them was electrically non-functional but physically was in pristine condition (I take care of my stuff) so I immediately called Asus and after several hours and a couple of promised call backs that never happened I got a hold of a rep via chat who then informed me I needed to call so...after a few hours and half my day I got a hold of a rep who asked about the conditio

1 out of 5 eggsDOA, but it happens

Pros: New Egg RMA went quickly.

Cons: DOA. It happens. I also got a P6T that was DOA. Asus quality control needs to improve.

Other Thoughts: After RMA, this board works great. Fits inside a Antec P180 great.

5 out of 5 eggsStill like it.

Pros: Solid board imo. No problems at all. NB temp 55C average in 77F room. Love the LCD poster, MemOK button saved me once with bad memory. Connection placement is good for me. I use only one graphics card though.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Is a good board for me because I like to play with settings a little, but want longevity more and quality parts/construction.

This board replaced an Asus P6T Deluxe V2 that I killed by tightening a corsair H50 too much. (Yes, I don't remember anything for 10 mins after I heard a crunch)

Intel 920 @ 3Ghz, Hyper 212+, GTX 260, 6G Corsair @ 1600, 150 Raptor, Haf 932.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality

Pros: Very nice board for the price. I did my research so I knew exactly what I was getting and it performs as expected. Packaging is nice. Features are nice. No issues at all. Hackintosh compatible. Very easy to work with. i7-930, 12gb of g.skill, bfg gtx-260. H-50. Patriot SSD.

Cons: None. When they pump out thousands of these things you can expect that a few are going to be DOA or have some issues. It happens, deal with it - and since you bought it here that should be relatively painless.

Other Thoughts: Bios is easy to navigate. Well supported in the hackintosh community.

2 out of 5 eggssigh.

Pros: its a mobo, it recognized my memory and everything. its small. crossfire slots are both 16x.

Cons: nb and sb get very hot. pcie slots are so close together that the primary cards fan wont suck in any cold are. IN RETURN, i get rediculous temps such as 60C on idle with 44% fan and 95C on load max IF NOT MORE on 100% fan.

Other Thoughts: needs work. i shoulda done some more research, but w.e. hopefully i will find a solution to this cooling dilema. vaporx 5770 both on max is rediculously loud.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy it!!!

Pros: Everything sounds good in the literature (if it worked).

Cons: DOA. couldn't get the thing to boot. I've built a dozen computers, and this is the first one to stump me. Tried two different brands of memory in various recommended slots. Tried two different power supplies. Tried leaving video card out, then finally took everything out including memory and processor, but didn't even give me any warning beeps!

Other Thoughts: I had bought this to replace another (stripped-down version) Rampage II Gene board in a refurbished ASUS computer. First board died. Second board won't see my memory in first two slots, and doesn't start right after a shut down - have to wait a little while before restarting. To avoid another round of high shipping (because I had to ship the complete computer instead of just mobo!!!), I decided to buy the "normal" version of the board, and just replace it at my cost. Bad decision. Kept getting a "Locked" message every other bootup. Finally, after hours of futzing with this board (never getting booted), message "Failed" came up, so I said, "Forget it!" These boards just suck!!! I'm going back to Gigabyte. They haven't failed me yet. One side note, I have read that these are VERRRRY picky about memory. Of course, you'd think that the memory ASUS built the computer with would work in it!!! I shouldn't have bought a refurbed computer?!! I'm going to stick to building my own.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,
