2 out of 5 eggsExpected better from Asus

Pros: Liked the Q-Connector, and the EZ Flash 2 features. The Heatsinks are kinda cool looking.

Cons: Multiple BSOD under Windows7 64-bit. Was unstable with all the same memory, processor, psu that I had used with my old ASUS P5B-E.

Other Thoughts: After using EZ Flash to upgrade the bios to the latest version and fiddling with settings in the bios for a couple hours with no success, I decided to RMA and go with the Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy

Pros: The install was hassle free. BIOS detected my memory and CPU without requiring any tweaking. Runs my Q6600 and 8GB of PC2 6400 well. Airflow friendly layout. This board is a great buy for the price.

Cons: No real Cons to speak of. Not much of a bundle. A Q Connector would have been nice. But these things do not take away from the actual product.

Other Thoughts: When I bought this I was in the market for a stable yet low budget replacement for my dead MSI P35 Platinum. I am happy with my purchase. And as always, Newegg shipping was fast. The money I saved by buying this mid-range board I was able to upgrade my video to a GTX 260. This product is worth a closer look.

1 out of 5 eggsASUS respnce

Pros: Easy install

Cons: Multiple crashes. ASUS posted this responce, and when contacted provided a link to the corsair memory ASUS said to use in their manual;

1 out of 5 eggsBlue Screen Of Death

Pros: Easy install

Cons: I have been an ASUS fan for years. This board is the most unstable I have ever had. Constant crashes. Previous to this MB, VISTA 64 was running no problems or crashes. Memory used came straight from the owners manual, no OC.

Other Thoughts: Time to find different MB manufacturer.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Mainboard

Pros: Everything work in 1 shot.

Cons: The back plate doesn't like me. When I have it on my Antec P183, the top screws can't be screw in. So i left it out.

Other Thoughts: Nice board. I have a Tower 120 HSF on it.

5 out of 5 eggsOverall, not too shabby

Pros: LOADED! For the money, you're getting 5xSATA, 1xe-SATA, 2xJMicron SATA, IDE, ICH10R, e1394 and a 1394 header, 4 memory slots and up to 16GB. Well you can read the specs for yourself. And ASUS has all of the Windows 7 drivers. PLENTY of SATA cables (it came with 4).

BIOS updates are the ABSOLUTE easiest I have EVER done.

You can boot from ANYTHING (although I have yet to try my pinky finger, but I bet it would).

THANK YOU ASUS for supplying a removeable front panel connector. This was SO NICE! This may have just turned me into an ASUS customer for life!

Back plate is sturdy and has a gasket. Good show ASUS. Nice finsihing touch.

It is a pretty board. Not that it really matters, but it is. The heat sinks are stylish.

It has just about EVERY setting you can think of in the BIOS. If you're interested in overclocking, this is a great board.

Cons: I think it is a bit power hungry. My no name (Zumax) 400w PSU was fine for a Pentium D on an ECS board. Running all of the same peripherals, the Zumax choked on this BAD! The system would NOT run. Perpetual reboots, no POST etc.

I upgraded to a Thermal Take 750 watt :) Needless to say I have power to spare and the system runs FLAWLESSLY.

BIOS version of the board was the initial release. It needed to be updated. I think there's been three revisions since, so keep that in mind.

Only six mounting points on the full ATX board. Three more on the back of the board would have been helpful, but as long as you support the PCB while inserting RAM and plugging in the power connector, you'll be just fine.

Other Thoughts: It is a good board. I know sometimes people get DOA stuff. But also, sometimes people don't know what they're doing. I could have very well thought my board was DOA. But I recognized my inadequate power supply.

You got to take these reviews with a grain of salt. I stressed out in reading reviews for motherboards. The last thing I wanted was a DOA board. And you'll see that on EVERY board review. Remember, some of them are valid, others are human error. ASUS is a good board. They're top tier. Keep that in mind too.

1 out of 5 eggsBad

Pros: none

Cons: i have tried everything to get this board setup with sata/raid.i have done what i know to be right and if i did'nt know i read the manual and followed it to a t.I have even made 3 calls to asus and here i am 8 hours later and i still don't have a working computer

Other Thoughts: i should have sold the chip and stuck with the computer i built 5 weeks ago.I just turned it off and have given up.I'm either very unlucky or this board is'nt worth a d***.I have been building and fixing computers for 10 years and have not been this frustrated in years and hope i never am again soon.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: Price, functionality.

Cons: Windows 7 x64 Final Release doesn't like the Silicon Image Raid controller.

Other Thoughts: On the flipside, stay on the ICH10R part of the SATA controller, set your raid array up with it, and Windows 7 installer recognizes the array and soars.
