It is what it is
- Pros: One of the few Sli boards for AM3, Setup was a breeze, more overclocking options than I need.
- Cons: DDR2 only, on board audio could use work, odd placement of SATA ports
- Other Thoughts: I like this board and would buy again & encourage friends to as well. I'm just annoyed that the choices are so few for SLI boards. I don't have any plans to go to ATI video any time soon, and find it annoying that the trend is to go with crossfire.
- Pros: So far so good. For those of you that are having problems with the board.... understand what it takes to build a computer. Download a copy of the manual from asus.com, then buy the approved memory from an approved vendor. There is a reason why not all types will work.
- Cons: None that I can find.
- Other Thoughts: I have building computers for over 10 years now, Asus has always been my first choice. I have yet to have any problems with any of their boards.
Half of the board not working.
- Pros: Not a bad motherboard, if only everything on it worked as it should.
- Cons: Pathetic and useless support. Paid a lot at the time for the best AMD motherboard that money could buy - then two of the memory slots did not work. After I RMA'd the board, ASUS informed that there is some "trace damage", and that they will charge me $100 to replace it. I told them to just ship it back - I am not willing to spend another $100 because I received a broken item. I received the board back - and lo-and-behold, there were two chips in the enamel slightly smaller than the head of a pin. I have no idea if they did it to rip another $100 off from me, or if I bought it like that. Bottomline, is that is the first motherboard from over a 100 that I installed that ever had a problem that fast.
- Other Thoughts: If you ever need to RMA an ASUS item, take pictures all ofver the board to make sure they do not rip you off. Shame also on newegg for even carrying ASUS products. I have to say that the half of the board that works, is still working, if that means anything to anybody.
