5 out of 5 eggsGood Reliable ASUS board

Pros: Good Board for the price I needed an emergency replacement for a 8 year old ASUS board that finally gave out. Solid board I have had no issues since February.

Cons: No built in WiFi like my old ASUS board.

Other Thoughts: It is what it is. I didn't want to buy new memory and processor when my old board quit. This was a good cheap board. Every time I buy ASUS it just works. This is my 4th build with ASUS.

1 out of 5 eggsGood til it died after 4 months

Pros: Purchased this board to make my son a computer for Christmas last year. It was good up until about a month ago when it just wouldn't boot anymore. Tested all other components and they all checked out fine....

Cons: **DO NOT BUY FROM ASUS**

I have been trying for the last 3 weeks to RMA this board. I have submitted an online RMA request 2 times, both answered with 'Closed' ??

Called them up a couple of times as well just to sit on hold for about 10 minutes, then someone picks up, takes my number, and says someone will call me back.

I'll never buy Asus again

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear about the issues. Can you please email us at Newegg_ASUS_MBSupport@asus.com and we will assist with the RMA.

Regards
ASUS Customer Support

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Prevents surge at all time, fast and reliable running windows 7 on it with a core 2 duo E7400 I'm Very Happy With it.

Cons: A Little Small its an Micro-ATX (what do You expect) Specially if you got a graphic card in it that uses two slots besides that it goes pretty well. Didn't have the money for a bigger one at that time 11/23/2009.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdate Review from 3/1/11

Pros: Got a REPLACEMENT board from ASUS.

Cons: Why I got a replacement I don't know, as when I called, the answer to my asking what was wrong was that the problem could not be replicated! So now I have another board that exhibits the same problem. What is ASUS doing? Rotating their bad stock in hopes your configuration will somehow work with another board that was sent to them that didn't work?

Other Thoughts: So the board does boot and run Windows 7, the problem is waiting 35 seconds to actually start the boot process. I wonder if I will ever get this thing going as it should

5 out of 5 eggslong lasting, durable, balenced

Pros: nice color of board, goes well with kingston hyper x ram with blue heatsinks, and a few blue led fans. best accent effect ive seen on my own builds. hasnt failed me yet, anti surge has saved it more than once, turbo key is easy to use and helpful although i had to hunt for it on the asus site. didnt find it on the motherboard install cd.

Cons: only 4 sata ports. in a micro atx case if you want to go with all new sata drives, 5.25 in drives and hard drives, you would need more ports, luckily you could utilize the pci ex1 slot for a sata card that will run just as fast if not faster then the onboard sata ports. not ddr3 ram. only 2 ram spots. so if you want to use the full 8gb supported, be prepared to shell out some extra cash for 4gb ddr2 sticks.

-if you are still using more then 1 pci card, and have a good graphics card that typically uses 2 expansion slots, you're out of luck. using a wide graphics card will cover one pci slot.

Other Thoughts: this was my very first build over a year ago and this board is still surpassing my friends computers performance. when paired with an intel Q8300 its a perfect balance of price and performance. ddr2 ram was rather spendy at the time that i built this rig. $55 for a 2 gig stick.

5 out of 5 eggsLE/CSM v. LX2/GB

Pros: The P5G41LX2/GB is the consumer version of the LE/CSM. Same layout slotwise, same amount and type of DIMM slots, and the same G41/ICH7 pairing. I bought mine to replace an nForce 7100/630i-chipset mobo (also ASUS) that died (BIOS failure). I moved everything to the LX2 with zero issues - I have since upgraded graphics card (Visiontek HD5450 from HIS HD3450) and CPU (E3400 replaced E1200); things remain problem-free.

Cons: Absolutely none. The Realtek 8111E is no Intel (the PRO1000CT built into my legacy P4C800-E Deluxe spoiled me for Intel-based Ethernet); however, it's no slouch. The two PCI slots (a rarity for mATX) let me keep my X-Fi XtremeGamer (while long in the tooth - it dates back to 2005 - it's stil going strong).

Other Thoughts: To the poster that had issues with the nVidia cards, could it have been a grounding issue? (Improperly-grounded motherboards can, and do, fry.)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks nicely for what it is

Pros: Good manual, easy to install.

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: I bought this as part of a bundle. If I had it to do again, I might've bought a higher-end board, but given what it is, it seems to work just fine. I'm going to be plugging in a PCIe 1x card soon, and will see how it handles that.

5 out of 5 eggsP5G41-M LE/CSM

Pros: excellent MOB for legacy devices 2003-2010.
Just transfer your old HDD, CD Rom, IDE devices including 3.5 floppy drive from another manufacturer over to this board installed in a coolermaster case with plenty of room for add on
later.

Cons: no built in speaker when POSTED.

Other Thoughts: This board posted right away from the start for BIOS setup from the disk included with the board.
