Not satisfied
- Pros: Probably works great if you dont Update Bios.
Overclocks good. Somewhat decent CMOS. Easy auto Overclocking functions for those who does not really want to put their precious time for Overclocking CPU/MEMORY.
- Cons: Was working, as soon as I updated my bios, unable to boot. Which means I cannot install/turn on os.
Windows 7, (both X64 and X86)not working Windows Vista, (x64) not working. Windows XP SP3 (X86) not working. Windows XP SP2 (X86) not working. Windows XP Sp1 (X86), only OS that kind of works, but What can you do in XP SP1? Im trying to figure out what I can do with this product. Please, Please buy ASUS products from Well known resellers, like Newegg. Also, PCI Express1 is too close to CPU, which makes some heatsinks unable to install on this board. even if you do, heatsinks too close to VGA, not a good thing. Not going to be the problem if your using stock cooler. Board design is not my favourite. some cases, may be little frustrating to install.
- Other Thoughts: Please buy ASus products from well known resellers. especially Mobos, like Newegg.
Awesome!
- Pros: Incredible bang for your buck! I love this board, it has everything one can possibly want (except maybe a floppy drive connector if you are still into that...)
-Raid (many forms) -Overclocking tools for beginners to experts -Tons of USB and firewire ports -Cool power, fan, OC management software that works well, along with PC probe. -Very stable, system runs at 32 degrees Celcius under almost all circumstances, and CPU at 35 (idle) up to 55 (max load). Has never hanged on me once unless I was playing with manual tweakers. -Works great with Windows xp and Windows 7.
- Cons: Wish there was a way to completely disable ExpressGate (nifty but I don't use it) which slows down the boot up by 5-10 seconds even without it installed. No biggie. By the way, ExpressGate worked well for me when I did load it up, and it is nifty, but I have no use for it.
You may want to upgrade your PSU if this is for an upgrade. Manual recommends at least 600w and an 8 pin EATX connector. I only have a 430w with the old 4 pin connector (which works fine) but it would probably work better with a better PSU. Not really a con just a heads up.
- Other Thoughts: It even looks great! The heat sinks look very nice (blue aluminum) and work well. Also the boot up LEDs (there's one for CPU, memory, boot device, and VGA) can be very useful (I had no issues starting it up so I haven't made use of them yet) but even if they never serve you any use they still look cool!
Overall: Highly recommended. You can't go wrong with ASUS or this board!
Has it all
- Pros: This board has everything I was looking for, and then some. Was easy to install (RAM took a little bit of a shove to fit), and ran everything with no problem. My expertise is probably less than the person reading this review, but this motherboard is pretty much everything I could ask for, and looks sexy to boot.
- Cons: No on board speaker.
- Other Thoughts: You want this Motherboard.
