5 out of 5 eggsgreat product

Pros: this is by far the best thing since sliced bread for people that want to overclock its simple and theres no restarts

Cons: doesn't lock into place well in the 5.25 bays it need rails or a screw to make it secure

5 out of 5 eggsOkay, I'll be the first comment on this awesome device.

Pros: Used with Crosshair III mobo.
I will probably update this review eventually as I’ve only owned the OC Station for a couple days now.
I will just say that I love this thing. Installation was a snap, and the fit within my Antec 900 case is perfect. I looks great too because some of the angles on the face of the OC-S are similar to the molded plastic top of the 900 case. When you power up your machine (and shutdown), the same ROG logo & animation appears on the OC-S display that appears on your monitor during POST, which is kind of cool. First thing I did was download the latest driver/GUI app. & firmware. The firmware was easily updated via the OC-S tray application with a couple of clicks. The tray application itself serves only a few purposes: Firmware update, the ability to name the 4 extra fans that may be connected to the OC-S, OC profile naming, & photo slideshow file location.

Cons: REVIEW CONTINUED (NOT CONS) ---
That’s the only interface the OC-S has with Windows, unless you count the ability to control EPU or CPU Power-Up, which you probably don’t care about if you’re over clocking. Those 2 functions require installation of other Asus applications into Windows, which I don’t care for. Again, if you skip those 2 functions, the ONLY Asus software that needs to be installed in order to use the OC-S is the simple tray app., which is tiny and uses virtually no resourses.
The quality of this device is 2nd to none, which is typical for Asus, especially ROG. Any adjustments you make on it are immediately adjusted in the BIOS. You can control nearly all of the most used parameters you normally have to adjust in BIOS. Unfortunately, one missing adjustment is memory OC’ing.

Other Thoughts: The OC-S display all of the same temp readings and fan speeds as BIOS does. The fan controller has alarm functionality for all 8 of the fan headers on the mobo, plus the 4 that are on the back of the OC-S. However, no adjustments can be made to the CPU fan, the “chassis” fans, or the “PWR” fan; only the “OPT” fans on the board and the “EXTRA” fans (the 4 on the OC-S) have any speed control.
The photo slideshow is a cool feature, and the display has good enough color and resolution to make your photos look quite good. However, it looks like the slideshow must be started manually, which requires a few button presses. There is a “screen saver” that pops up after a set amount of time, but it just shows the date and time. The power button on the OC-S only turns the display on and off; it doesn’t negate any adjustments that are made. Also, unlike some earlier reviews stated (early firmware), the unit does turn on and off with your PC. I'm out of space now, wish I could write more..
