1 out of 5 eggsIf it works, you're lucky!

Pros: It's Shiney...

Cons: All brand new parts, strait out of the box. every time I atempt a windows install I get a BSOD at the same place. After a few days of HEAVY cross-examination, I finally narrowed it down to the mobo. S ent it back to newegg (great service and understanding as always) and the replacement had the same problem. I send it to assus and they e-mail me back saying i bent a pin on the socket, something i've never done before. they "repaired" it and sent it back, same defect.

Other Thoughts: this board has made me lose faith in assus and their "garuntee".major factory defect and from what i've seen i'm not the only one its happened to. save yourself the time, hassel, and money; get a different board.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board Still!!

Pros: I Have had this board for like three months now. I must say that it is a sweet board. I have a cheap radeon x300 se and a cheap 300 watt power supply, and I have had no problems playing any 3D games be it call of duty 2 or nfsmw or bf2 except with a little studder every,,,, now and then nothing big, but that's because of the card ofcourse. I tweaked the settings thru CCC to get it to run the best possible. Now the graphics card is going to be replaced monday with the x1600xt. I will deffinately love that :). Any way if you got a bad one that does suck but this MB is sweet when you get a good one obviously. I had my celeron @ 3.9.. last time I put my review in here now it is @ 4.035. No heat problems and I don't have any water cooling or nothing like that just a big asus heatsink fan combo on it that didn't come with the board I must add. I even have the cheap radeon overclocked with a big,,, Zaldon fan heatsink on it which will go on the x1600xt Monday :).

Cons: The whole native IDE driver thing, but thats kinda microsofts fault, so what can ya do bout that ya know. Its not asus's fault.

Other Thoughts: This Mother Board is deffinatley worth the money then some, it was ten dollars cheaper when I bought it though.

3 out of 5 eggsBought 2 so far, I worked.

Pros: I came to read reviews to find others, review before me says it all. If I were to have written it myself I would say the same exact thing. It just shuts down when I try to play 3D games or any type of media.

Cons: Cons are that I will have to pay shipping and wait because Asus obviously is putting out a huge batch of bad boards.

Other Thoughts: I am running Pentium D 945, Sapphire Radian X1600XT, Windows XP Pro, SATA 3.0 Gb/s drives, and have updated bios and all drivers to current versions.

1 out of 5 eggsThink Twice

Pros: Features, This mobo has everything you need for Pentium D. Good software. Running XP Pro, ATI Radeon X1800pro, Pentium D 3.2, 2GB Corsair 667Mhz, 650W PSU, System ran very cool!! Everything runs smooth for a while...

Cons: RMA'd after troubleshooting for 3 weeks. System crashed and then rebooted when playing DVD, or 3D Gaming. Replaced Video Card twice, Had memory tested 3 times, Replaced PSU, Updated everything possible (bios, chipset, drivers). ASUS Customer Service was great, but only on the 6th call would they admit the motherboard was the problem. Very frustrating, Thought I was going to get what I paid for. Guess not...

Other Thoughts: ASUS is one of those top of the line brands? Right? QC would be nice.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid

Pros: Stability, ASUS Reliability, compatibility.

Cons: You get what you pay for.

Other Thoughts: ASUS has been the most reliable brand of motherboard I have seen in quite some time. I used to be a big Abit fan, but their quality is slipping, even on their high end boards. ASUS has a 3-Year Warranty, which really goes to show how much they back their own products. Very fast support in my experiences.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: I really like the interactive overclocking feature while windows is running. It's a lot easier for novice O.C.ers.

Cons: The layout is horrible for desktop cases. This is meant for tower cases with out the IDE cable connections are mounted on the motherboard

5 out of 5 eggsBe sure to download the latest audio driver

Pros: Built-in RAID controller, plenty of SATA, IDE, and USB connectors. Reliable

Cons: To prevent games from crashing, be sure to download the latest RealTek auido driver from

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: I have a Celeron D 3.0 GHZ at 3.97 on this puppy and I have a stock fan on it and it is very stable not hot at all not a single problem. I gave it a .05 boost of voltage just to be safe. I have 2.5 gigs of ddr2 in her to, @ 4 5 5 4 kingston memory!

Cons: The hole IDE Driver issue, I did the same thing. I put both the cd rom and hard drive on same cable then installed the drivers with windows up."If" windows is a fresh install it is better to do it the asus way.

Other Thoughts: There is a guy @ the asus tech dep. that is a class A jerk, but there other people were nice they should weed out the bad ones.
