2 out of 5 eggsWhen it worked

Pros: Very user friendly bios.
Good physical layout
Fanless design was nice.
Worked well and fast when it worked.
Accepts a wide variety of CPU's and ram.

Cons: I felt it should have lasted longer then then the just over a year I had it.
It's different components went progressively, starting with the on-board sound. Required me to get an sound card to get it to work. After that the USB power dropped causing everything from my mouse to my USB headset to stop working. Then after that the board all together went. The board felt like it should have lasted longer

Other Thoughts: All and all I wouldn't buy this again. I enjoyed the product, but feel that the product should have been better and lasted longer. If given a chance to try the product again I would though because I understand that one product malfunction or product that doesn't work well when others say it does doesn't make the full product and doesn't apply to every one of the products sold. However to take a chance on this product again with my money won't happen.

5 out of 5 eggsNevermind, this board is awesome.

Pros: This motherboard is a very good board. Why? It can do so much!! I love it, it is still handling great, after all the stuff I overclocked on it. Great overclocking board though. And it also includes SLI, which I have not used yet.

Cons: Nothing really, but I cannot seem to find the multiplier settings, if any one knows where it is, thank you. But it should have since I saw someone else that had the screen, but either way it is good.

Other Thoughts: If you have a very good understanding of this board, I recommend it. If you do not know anything, and fail on your mistake, then you are at lost. That is what I did, but now I see it is a very handy board.

2 out of 5 eggsI should have read up...

Pros: Pros? Um... It supports up to 16GB of RAM and SLI? I guess...

Cons: I would be echoing other people, so there is really no point.

Other Thoughts: I bought it in April '06 and just now have had the money to finish the system. The CPU fan connector did not work, which really was not a big problem for as I was going to do water cooling anyway. Then I made the mistake of flashing the BIOS with the ASUS Update utility from 0212 to 0310. The utility stated that everything went OK and I restarted. It would never POST again. Ordered a replacement BIOS chip, but no dice.

The guy that posted a review before me got lucky. I have been using computers for 21 years and am very familiar with both the hardware and software sides. This is my first build, but that doesn't matter. Some people have good luck with this board, most don't. I wasn't so lucky.

5 out of 5 eggsThe Rainman's Review

Pros: Everything on this board is Superb. I have had this board for over 6 months. Never had a problem with anything I have bought off newegg that is an asus product.

Cons: The only con I would have to say is the people on here that are first time builder giving their assumptions about this product. I am a computer technician. I own and love this board.

For those who are first second or even third time builders which alot probably are. Please do not leave a bad review. You probably messed something up or shorted out the board.

For those that know what they are doing. I seriously recommend this board. It is beautiful.

Other Thoughts: My Specs:
Pentium D 805 2.66ghz overclocked to 3.6 with a ZALMAN CNPS9500 (PS you can take the 805 in this board to 3.6 with no voltage adjustment and this fan and the temp will max at 44 elcius, With a small voltage increase you can take it to 3.8)
2GB Corsair XMS2 5400
ATI X850XT 256
Antec Neo500 Power Supply
Sony DVD-Burner 16X

2 out of 5 eggsSkip it....

Pros: When it was working I was very happy with this board, a lot of great features and performance was great.

Cons: Stability and quality are poor. The P5N32-SLI Premium and SE Deluxe are newer versions of this board that have been released to correct design flaws. Don't take my word for it, but do your own research. When I first got my board I noticed the board itself was warped and was causing the heatsinks not to make contact with the voltage regulators. I had to install and additional standoff below the heat sink to push the board up in order for it to let the heatsink work properly. This is brand new out of the box and already ships with defects. Also, you need at least a 600W power supply in order for the board to work properly. BIOS is still beta and has been for several months now.

Other Thoughts: On paper this boatd looks great, but after owning it for six months I regret ever purchasing it. I suggest you look at the ASUS Support forum for this board before purchasing. I've already had to RMA this board twice due to major failures. Seriously, caveat emptor. Also, ASUS customer support is the worst i've experienced and I work with computer equipment for a living. A shame, this used to be such a great company. Go with someone else.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat board

Pros: This board is great. Overclocks fantastically. Yes it needs tweeking in the bios like any other good board when you put new hardware in like memory, video card, etc. KEEP IN MIND, it needs a high end PSU that is SLI certified, about 650W. Or it won't boot, just give you the green light and beep. See my comment below. It is picky about the memory you use so check the memory compatability carefully. Other than that this board rocks. Gamers will love it as well as overclockers. SLI is easier to use than other boards. It will handle duo core cpu also but I haven't tried that YET.

Cons: May be a bit complicated for newbies. Very picky about the power supply and memory.

Other Thoughts: For those of you who have had a problem with it let me tell you my experience. The first time I got it I had the same problem as a lot of you. It would not go past the bios when booting. After a few attempts all I would get is the green light showing it got power but nothing else. I thought it was defective. then I read on a post that someone was having the same problem with a similar board and it was the power supply being too low. I got a new Antec 550W PS. The same outcome, nothing. Then I read in another post about the SLI boards needing SLI certified PSUs to work. I contacted Antec and they told me that the PSU I bought was not SLI certified and required a flash update which they can do at the factory. I decided to buy a different power supply. I ended up bying a Silverstone Zeus 650W PSU from Newegg. That thing is heavy but has Quad Rails and it is a work horse. I hooked it up as soon as Newegg got it to me three days after order. Wow, Newegg! The mobo powered up no problem.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb Board!!

Pros: Excellent Board. I have a presler 915 oc'd to 3.6 since day one! Gskill ddr2 667 ram and an old 500watt thermaltake running it. Video is an x850xt and i 130fps in css consitently. Great motherboard to build

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I built this system in one night to get ready for WSVG the next day! Has been a beast of a machine ever since. oh yeh btw ive got 1.8tera on this board in a lianli case. The 500watt modular thermaltake has been more than enough power for the entire sytem.

5 out of 5 eggsDon't listen to the Others...This is actually a GREAT BOARD

Pros: I haven't had an issue with this board yet! I've owned it since it first came out.

Cons: Only con that I have found with this board is that if you install a Tv Tuner card into the bottom PCI slot, it makes it near impossible to use the USB bracket.

Other Thoughts: I work in a computer store and we have not had a single problem with these board. I personally use liquid cooling on my home set up and it works great!

2 out of 5 eggsWorst on the market

Pros: Ok Let me start off by saying this board sucks. It's a great theory board. Everything sounds perfect and amazing, but there is so much that they don't tell you. I had to RMA my board 6 times!!!!!!!

Cons: Power hungry. You need atleast 600watts, with EPS12v, with dual rails no lower than 18A each rail. Memory is picky too. Have to flash the BIOS the first chance you get, and download the Intel X16 chipset drivers so you can get it somewhat usable.

Other Thoughts: Asus tech support sucks.
