1 out of 5 eggssecond board that went

Pros: Seemed ok at first....

Cons: Just like the m3a79 deluxe t i had before... but something always goes..... before in the deluxe t something went and they couldn't tell me what. Then they sent it back to me a second time scratched. Wouldnt accept it back.... As for this board now the either net socket went.... They are just producing bad boards from what i can tell now.

Other Thoughts: Don't trust the asus tech team for the most part. Got the shaft on what was a 200.00 board. Now this one is no better.. Go with evga they tend to care more about their customers. That will be my next board... looks like im going to have to go with intel too.

Manufacturer Response:

1 out of 5 eggsMB died after 7 months

Pros: Cheap
Good ACC
Able to unlock cores without problems
Stable

Cons: Onboard Audio problems
Died after 7 months

Other Thoughts: Unfortunately motherboard died without any reason after 7 months. This is my first ASUS MB and probably the last one. As far as i love this company for their displays, im really disappointed with this product.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Vauled Customer,

Please RMA your board for a replacement if it is faulty.

Regards
ASUS Customer Support

4 out of 5 eggsMotherboard with lots of options

Pros: Multiple options (older and new) to use: PATA, SATA, AM2, AM2+, AM3, DDR 1200, up to 16GB RAM, onboard sound, onboard graphics, PCI Express x16, x1, and plenty of USB 2.0 ports--all in a MicroATX form factor.

Cons: The RAM slot started to fail after one year of use. I would get random BSODs; sometimes BSODs occur when a certain threshold of memory is used (e.g. 850MB RAM in task manager). Using one different stick of RAM in the malfunctioning RAM slow won't show anything on screen on boot (or POST beep). Computer doesn't BSOD and boots fine when immediately switching the RAM to another slot.

Other Thoughts: I'm hoping Asus will replace it, as it is still under the 3-year warranty.

1 out of 5 eggsDead!

Pros: Good board for the cost. Audio is good, decent video for the price

Cons: It just died! BIOS won't even come up. Everything powers up, but nothing comes on the screen. Tried with different monitors, so I know it has to be the board.

Other Thoughts: Hopefully ASUS can replace/fix it.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear about the issues. We hope the replacement board works fine for you.

1 out of 5 eggsWorked for 10 months

Pros: While it worked it worked nothing fancy about it.

Cons: So this board lasted for 10 months. After that it died and would not do anything. Haven't been able to figure out how to navigate Asus' website so I think I will just email the address listed here several times and see if that gets me any results. This board claims to have a three year warranty and at this rate I will have gone through 4 different boards by then. This was just used for an HTPC so it was not worked that hard. Should have lasted much longer. Very dissapointed because so many friends advised that I purchase Asus and it turned out to be a dud. I have already replaced it with a Gigabyte MB.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear about the issues. Please contact us at Newegg_ASUS_MBSupport@asus.com stating all parts used and we will look into this for you. Four dead boards may point at an issue that lies elsewhere.

1 out of 5 eggsGigabit NIC died TWICE

Pros: Supports ECC with Chipkill, essential for building a server (and desktops, for that matter).

Also has six internal SATA ports (none external), again useful for a server.

Cons: Internal NIC died within a year. RMA was cross-shipped so I know it's not the same board.

NIC died again after eight months. Didn't bother with the RMA. Bought an Intel PCIE NIC.

This is a light-duty server that does not drive the NIC very hard or very often. Both failures happened after a clean reboot. This looked like a great board for my server needs but all the pros mean squat if you can't talk to the box!

1 out of 5 eggsShort lived, it should have served me longer

Pros: Motherboard worked fine for 13 months. Upgraded video card six months ago and it really worked well. Newegg shipped it on time. I am very happy with Newegg. This is the first item that I feel should be still working.

Cons: Now it is dead, no life, no POST, no Boot. It worked the night before. It was shut down properly. It never booted again. Tested all other components.

Other Thoughts: I believe the minimum life expectancy of computer parts should be at least four years and not a year and one month. I do not overclock!
