4 out of 5 eggsStill going

Pros: Price, Memory Capacity

Cons: Over clocking required I guess.

Other Thoughts: So basically I have ran 3 diff types or Ram all meeting the requirements. Re-installed Windows entirely and I still run into a memory management problem or other problems telling me to remove my Memory and clean it out basically. So the O.C. required maybe? I running the stats requested by the board but its not overclocked memory.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: The board supports any am3 cpu and overclockable. Supports ddr3 ram up to 1800mhz in speed. Built strong and durable, I'm pretty sure I bent it and put a lot of pressure on it. I even accidently drilled a nail into the usb port. Not to mention I spilled a drop of water near the sata ports. I know I'm very uncareful xD. Has everything I need, still working great as expected from ASUS.

Cons: Doesn't have an extra pci-e slot for crossfire/sli. Oh well. :3

Other Thoughts: Couldn't have asked for more, I bought it like a year ago. Here's my current build Build:
Asus M4A77TD mobo
AMD Phenom II x4 980 BE 3.72ghz
AMD Radeon HD6870 - 1gb - XFX
Corsair Vengeance 16gb ddr3- 1600mhz
Western Digital Caviar Blue-500gb-7200rpm
Corsair CX600 psu

4 out of 5 eggsOwned since Apr. 2010. Still Runnin' Strong. Army Strong!

Pros: 8 Channel Audio(including SPDIF) works well, Gigabit Ethernet(awesome!), PCIe 2.0 x16 is wonderful (honestly, x16 is the only way to go), has more RAM/CPU overclocking utilities in BIOS than I've ever seen in a board. CD included software (AMD OverDrive) specifically for OCing your AMD processor but experiencing a lack of stability taught me to use ASUS's TurboKey (also included on CD) instead. TuborKey's not perfect either but it worked more often than AMD's OD. Stays cool. Haven't had any Mobo components overheat/short-out on me yet.('n I live in the HOT part of AZ) Plenty of USB ports. Floppy & IDE drive capable.

I've been able to find drivers for pretty much all its hardware for every operating system I've used this board for. O'course I've only used Windows OSs(XP, Vista, & 7); can't say much about trying to run Linux stuff or turn it into a 'Hackintosh'. I'm a PC, lol

Cons: Initially had some boot problems: click power button = fans on, mobo power, but no post. Have to reset until it decides to function properly. Didn't happen all the time but often enough to be annoying. Had to OC my RAM(Corsair Dominator DDR3 1600) but it failed several times. I didn't fiddle with it much; just kept going back into BIOS to turn it back on.

After several months, both of these^ issues subsided. It's been over a year of solid performance.

Aside from the CPU fan header, there's only 1 other = only able to monitor CPU & chassis fans.

Other Thoughts: This was my first build, specifically built for low-temp handling of high-end games, particularly for Crysis. My specs below include the my current GPU (a necessary upgrade), not the original EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX+. Current system is pretty stable but not perfect. Handles all Crysis games, both Portal games, Mirror's Edge and everything else I throw at it beautifully! Mass Effect BSODs once in a while. I dunno, maybe my RAM's getting old? The Dominator RAM was pretty expensive when originally purchased. :S

2 out of 5 eggsDissapointed by ASUS

Pros: Still a decent board for its age.

Cons: The onboard NIC has failed twice. Seriously, this is a pretty basic component and I had to send the board back once already for a repair. Now it has failed for a second time and I am truly annoyed with ASUS.

Other Thoughts: I very much doubt I will be buying any more ASUS products. I have started doing Bitcoin mining and have actively avoided buying their video cards because of my experiences with this MB. I know very well that even the best manufacturers sometimes put out a product that just doesn't match their usual quality, but there is just no excuse for the NIC failing twice on this board. It was fairly easy for someone who has done phone support to recognize that the failing NIC on this board was a known problem even though the person I spoke to didn't come out and say so. Good luck in the future ASUS, maybe I'll give you another try in a few years to see if you've improved. Maybe. Frankly, it isn't the failure of the board that has shut you out so much as the fact that I sent it back and it now has the same problem.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard

Pros: I've had this motherboard for more than 2 years now, and no problems so far.

Cons: My stock CPU heat sink came very close to touching the ram, so be aware of that.

Other Thoughts: It works great, what more could I ask for?

1 out of 5 eggsStinks

Pros: Worked for 1.5 years

Cons: Dead, won't POST

Other Thoughts: Bye bye ASUS. You lost my loyalty.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear about the issues. You may RMA the board if it is faulty.

2 out of 5 eggsNice board, lots of features, broken a LOT.

Pros: Lots of features, support for a lot of processors, decent price.

Cons: Sent the board back for repairs: NIC failed and PCI slot not working. Got the board back and the NIC worked for a few months and failed again. The PCI slot still didn't work when I got the board back.

Other Thoughts: It is extremely unlikely that I will buy another ASUS product. They have a good reputation, but it seems to be quite undeserved, at least as far as this product is concerned.

3 out of 5 eggsBe ready to di it alone.

Pros: It works. Unlocked 4th core on my tri-core. AI OC.

Cons: Poor support.

Other Thoughts: While attempting to find info about running a RAID, I tried the website first. After 2 days, I gave up trying to find anything in their site, so I attempted to use their site to email support. They wanted model and serial numbers of every component in my rig. ... wt&^%$? I wasted 15 min trying to gather all the info before I gave up and called them. Their service is not very professional, but were finally able to answer my question. On top of that fiasco, I was denied the rebate for this item, because I bought it ON the last day of the promo. *&^$* ASUS?!? Since they cannot offer decent support for their products, I wont be buying anymore.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat mobo!

Pros: .
- Easy overclocking (2.8GHz -> 3.08GHz by adjusting one BIOS option)
- Fast startup (can go through BIOS in under 7 seconds flat after some tweaking, even faster if you overclock)
- Incredibly reliable, even when the *motherboard* temperature is 70C due to 3 fans failing simultaneously...I didn't notice the fans were stopped until my room started getting warmer.
- Cheap, but still very well built

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: My rig, bought from newegg:
2.8GHz AMD Phenom II x4 (can overclock to 3.08GHz easily, but my case can't cool it fast enough)
4GB DDR3 1600
1TB hard drive

works like a charm
