3 out of 5 eggsSolid Board

Pros: Great board - I've been a big ASUS fan since I started using their motherboards years ago.

Board is solid, no issues out of the box and I'm very happy so far. I'll update this when I'm done with my OC.

Cons: Only uses 6 mounting posts and the power and IDE connections are at the very edge. Had to use my fingers to support the board where those connectors are. BE CAREFUL when you hook up power and/or IDE! (that's why I give this board 3 eggs - feels flimsy at a critical point)

Only 1 additional onboard fan power connector. Pfft - gotta dig out my adapter.

No pwr/reset/spkr/HDD LED/PLED block came with this motherboard (my P5K did). Gotta make those connections directly to the board - not a big deal just a minor irritation.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks, Great Board

Pros: This motherboard is great! It works just as it should, and as this is my first build ever, any builds in the future will be with ASUS Motherboards (unless another manufacturer offers a better board with better/equal features and lower price).

Cons: Only one: one of the PCI slots I assume is burned out. It worked fine for a while, but I believe it was my own error in allowing the bracket of my PCI graphics card to come into contact with the motherboard around the slot. I now unplug the power before messing with PCI devices.

Other Thoughts: This motherboard was great for my very first build, which is a gaming PC. I would highly recommend this board to anyone wanting a great gaming PC with affordable parts. However, if you want Crossfire, another board is required, but I can't afford Crossfire at the time, so it's alright.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard for the price

Pros: Straightforward connections with good instruction; core unlocker and turbo boost are nice features

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: I'm a newby at building computers and put my first one together last night using this mobo. It was easy to connect due to the good little instruction booklet with diagrams showing connection points. When I booted it up with my 3-core AMD processor, it prompted me to open the Core Unlocker, which found and unlocked the four core. The utilities that come with the mobo are good for monitoring the performance and power usage. For the basic gaming machine I built, this is a great mobo for the price

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: Very good over clocking support, all necessary connectors and ports for a fast inexpensive system, very resonably priced

Cons: None that I'm concerned with

Other Thoughts: This is by far the best solution for a budget oriented gaming PC. It has all the necessary settings for over clocking. Very stable

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent mobo

Pros: Nice stable mobo with lots of features. Great for the price.

Used this with an Athlon II x3 440. The mobo was able to unlock the 4th core with ease. Also ran my ram at correct timings (7-7-7-7-21) without any configuration, worked right out of the box.

Great mobo for the price. Will definately use again.

Cons: Wish the board was black instead of an odd brown, but thats purely cosmetic.

Other Thoughts: For its price point, it has everything I needed and more. Great mobo, easy to use and easy to understand BIOS.

5 out of 5 eggsEZ install - good budget board

Pros: Note: it's a small thing but newegg says it's 1333 OC but the manual confirms it does take standard 1333.

My m3a died (hopefully I get a replacement) so i bought this budget board. I hope I have better luck this time. The board was ez to install and booted right away. Having more USB than the old board is great and frees up my external hub.

I like that the USBs are spread out a bit on the rear panel. Just a personal preference. Also I'm noticing IDE on fewer boards and that was a major factor in deciding on this one as well as 3 PCI slots.

Cons: For some reason I had trouble getting the ethernet to work but that may be my fault. It also happened again when I installed a new SATA drive so I'm leaning towards user error :)

Anyone who has a PCI slot fan beware! It may cover your SATA connectors and you will have to put the fan on the bottom slot, not right under the video card, like i wanted. It will also block the connectors on the bottom but I don't use those anyway.

This is the first board i've ever owned that has no floppy so i hope the case of floppies in my drawer doesn't contain anything valuable.

The shield in the back is worse than a joke. I probably should have used my old one if it fit. It's such a pain to get on and stay on when you close up.

Per the specs there's no on board video but my guess is a lot of people have video cards anyway. I figured since I have a card the only reason to have onboard would be troubleshooting.

Other Thoughts: I'm not experienced enough to know whether or not this has become standard across the board, but I am experienced enough to know that ASUS has gotten stingy with their parts. From my old mobo I used the quick connector (reset/power etc) and all the other screws. Now I agree you don't necessarily need all those parts every build (sure is nice to stockpile though) but for something like that quick connector, it should be in ever board they make. Without it, it's very tedious plugging all that stuff in and ensuring you have the right connections.

With a 15 dollar rebate this board was a no brainer. Plus don't forget to look at the combo deals newegg has, saved me a few more bucks!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: This motherboard is great, got it yesterday and I have not had any problems with it so far. I had no problems running my patriot memory at 1333mhz.
I have had no problems with it so far, bios are easy enough to navigate but I have no tried overclocking yet.

Cons: There are only 6 mounting holes on it, which wouldn't be so terrible if the power connector wasn't right in the middle, so when I was connecting the power the mobo was bending quite a bit, but nothing seems to have broken...
