5 out of 5 eggsExcellent AM3 Motherboard - Still Relavent

Pros: 1. Excellent construction - very sturdy PCB and large heatsinks
2. Runs cool - CPU is using slightly less voltage than with it'd old motherboard and runs about 5C cooler with the same HSF/Fan.
3. Rich feature set with lots of OC options
4. SATA III ports
5. 6+2 power phase for good overclocking ability

Cons: 1. Only USB 2.0, unlike its sibling the M4A89GTD Pro/USB3.
2. Supports only first generation FX processors (Zambezi) with a beta BIOS.

Other Thoughts: I know this is a discontinued motherboard, but they still are available on Fleabay for an excellent price ($59.99). Its brand new OEM whitebox, but includes the IO shield and the switch card to disable the onboard graphics (so you can get the full X16 speed from the PCI-E for a dedicated GPU). It was well worth the price for me when I assembled a "spare parts" rig with a Phenom II X4 980 BE. Good layout, easy installation and it fired up without issue. Even though they are several generations old the CPU and motherboard coupled with an HD 7850 have given me a very capable gaming rig for not much money. If you have an AM3 CPU this would be an excellent choice. Rock solid ASUS quality.

2 out of 5 eggsWorked for 10 months

Pros: Good motherboard. Worked well while it lasted.

Cons: I built my system with this motherboard. The motherboard died after 10 months.

The MemOK! LED on the motherboard stayed lit, indicating a memory error. I had not overclocked the system at all during this time. I replaced memory modules with new ones, tried every memory slot. Did not help.

Eventually returned the motherboard to ASUS for RMA. The RMA process took a month, including shipping. On receiving it back, there were no explanations of any detected problems (if any) or servicing done (if any) or parts replaced (if any). On building my machine again, the same problem persisted.

Now I have trashed this motherboard and looking for a different make.

Other Thoughts: My previous system was an ASUS/AMD one. It ran flawlessly for 7 years. ASUS probably does not make motherboards like they used to.

5 out of 5 eggsgood mobo

Pros: This motherboard is a perfect mid-range board for anyone building an amd based system, it has usb 3 which i have made use of on many occasions transferring files, I actually transferred 700GB of media into my system at 150MB/s!

Cons: it doesn't seem to have the capability to provide the huge power required by 6 core phenom II processors under overclock conditions, it will run 3.8-4.0 GHz no worries its just when the core voltage gets up around 1.4-1.45 that you can see the motherboard can no longer provide stable enough voltage to the cpu, however this is only an issue for extreme overclockers and under any "normal" conditions this mobo is a champ.

Other Thoughts: its nice.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Motherboard

Pros: - 2x PCIe

- Runs great for over a year

Cons: - Both PCIe run @ 8x with 2x video cards. With one video card the top slot runs @ 16x
- Not 990fx lol

Other Thoughts: ASUS does have a BETA bios for the new FX chips but i haven't tried it out yet..

5 out of 5 eggsASUS Motherboards are quality products

Pros: This was my first ASUS MB and will not be my last. I am running some ripjaw ddr3 1600mhz with amd phenom quad 3.2 ghz c3 cpu and this rig works great once you tweak the bios for ram.

1 out of 5 eggsboard great service very bad

Pros: The motherboard sounds like its great.

Cons: I opened motherboard box that has no seal and the vga card was missing.Had to rna board.

Other Thoughts: Purchaced board for $139 had to rna missing piece. They would not send another board because they are out of stock. They also would not backorder a board for me at this price and said i would have to reorder board at the higher price.I dont think this is fair because I spent $13 buck to ship it back for there mistake. For the last several days there websight still says the board is available but I thought it is out of stock.I have been a loyal Tiger fan for 10 years and thought i would give Newegg a try boy was i wrong.

3 out of 5 eggsAlmost impressed.

Pros: Sata 3, hdmi, nice quality build. It's features are the pros.

Cons: I have continual cpu fan errors, memory errors that are NOT due to memory as I have tested it in another machine. The machine will randomly dump cores from being unlocked, even though they reported no errors in stress testing. Overclocking is also countered by Asus Turbov EVO, cannot use mobo oc and software oc.

Pros: Rock Solid with all teh options that I need.

Cons: Wish that I would have bought the usb 3.0 option instead of just the 6.0 gbps

Other Thoughts: My thoughts are to buy the best cutting edge product that you can afford. wish that I had 3.0 usb.
