3 out of 5 eggsOk Mobo

Pros: Lot of features. Stable. Looks cool.

Cons: Network adapter is an issure with this board. The adapter on the first board I received died within weeks. RMA'd through Neweggs great service. Second one is now 2 years old and same problem. Had to pay one way shipping to Asus for warranty repair and tear apart and rebuild my pc.

Other Thoughts: Been building for around 12 years and have always used Asus boards. This is the first time I've ever had an issue with them. Just a fluke design I hope.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you had with the motherboard.

Please let me know when you receive the unit after RMA and still have problems with the network adapter on the motherboard.

Regards,
Benson

3 out of 5 eggsGood board

Pros: Cheap, inexpensive, functional mobo. It performed well out of the box. Added a video card to play low end games. Athlon II CPU worked with 4Gb RAM.

Cons: After 15 months, the LAN connect failed, BIOS setting do not want to stay set. Replaced battery. Mobo will reset itself by itself. It becomes completely unresponsive at times.

Other Thoughts: Taking components and moving to another mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsNIce Board

Pros: Core unlocking and overclocking worked very well. On board audio isn't bad at all. The Express Gate looks like Ubuntu, but is cool.
It is fast and stable, works nice so far.
Running an Ath 2 triple core 3.3 Ghz CDPU on 4 cores @ 3.8 stable on stock fan, and it seems real happy. Windows experience of 7.4 for Memory & CPU, 7.6 on the SSD.

Cons: I have to give it to my customer pretty soon.

Other Thoughts: Fast, stable, and great features. It is a great $99 board.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little Asus

Pros: It's the perfect little board. However, 6 - 6 GB/s SATA onboard? Wow. PCI-e 8x, 1x etc? I have 4 GB of Crucial RAM in it with an AMD Regor 3.0 dual core in it.

Cons: I actually wanted the full size board but ordered the Micro. No biggie. Just missing the PCI-e 4x slot

1 out of 5 eggsDefective Board

Pros: None, doesn't work.

Cons: Slot for the DDR2 RAM is in the wrong spot. Granted, this was an open-box item. Now I know why.

Other Thoughts: Will adjust my review when either Asus, or Newegg replace the product.

3 out of 5 eggstry another one

Pros: This is usual ASUS mb. Do it's job

Cons: A north bridge is very hot. I can hold my finger more than few seconds on it. If i play the computer hang up after 20 min. I changed thermal grease on a chipset heatsink. It halped, but it's still hot.

Other Thoughts: Try more expensive ASUS bm.

4 out of 5 eggsNice Little Mobo

Pros: SB850 Southbridge
Good memory support
ASUS quality
LOTS of BIOS options

Cons: AMIBios is a little quirky
SATA connector location is not quite right

Other Thoughts: Overall it's a great mobo. Super easy to unlock cores on Phenom II processors. I'm not a big fan of AMIBIOSes, offsets are just a dumb way to do things IMO.

Looks good, runs cool. What more can you want?

2 out of 5 eggsNot good for Linux

Pros: Probably good for Windows XP. Problematic with Windows 7.

Cons: Not working on Windows. Even on Windows RAID sucks. Suse 11.3 does not want to start on this one at all - problem with BIOS. SO do not buy is you intent to use anything other than Windows 7 and SINGLE drive. Do not try to use RAID on Windows 0 you will waste your time.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This mobo with the documentation made my first ever computer build very easy. The core unlocker technology allowed me to unlock the two hidden cores on my phenom II X2 BE 555 and works great with enhanced mushkin RAM.

Cons: none
