1 out of 5 eggsOK while it lasted

Pros: Good price, most things were good while working

Cons: Sound was a bit off but i let it slide.

Other Thoughts: Bought this March 2011 and it died March 2011.
This product doesnt live after its warranty expires, and by looking at other reviews its pretty common. I highly regret buying this mobo.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: First ever computer build, so it seemed like things was a breeze.

Cons: Last month it started acting crazy. Some how it would only unlock 3 cores instead of the 4. Bios didn't bell because it started yo blie screen witj some wired messages then it would jisy freeze up. Then a blinking red light poped up on it and it haven't came back on yet. . Really dont know what the problem is but I cant afford to biy new mobo. Very disappointed to get less than 2 yrs from my first build. ....

1 out of 5 eggsDead before 3

Pros: worked for 2 years, 8 months

Cons: Just like my previous ASUS motherboard, this one died before 3 years. It just stopped working, not even the boot up. Took the cpu, mem, hard drive and power supply out, put them in an older system case and mobo, and it is working fine, so pin points that this mobo went bad. You would think this is not much a problem, since it is warranteed for 3 years. However, I sent my first ASUS mobo back to ASUS tech support three (3) times to get it fixed, and they never did. They actually ended up making it worse. Sooo, should I go to the trouble and cost to send this one in to be fixed?

Other Thoughts: It is pretty annoying that you can not count on a major computer components maker to make parts that last, its not that hard if you are not so cheap to even try to get it right. But then to brag about good service and warrantee, then not deliver on that promise, that is even worse.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't purchase

Pros: Don't buy.

Cons: This is a horrible mb. Don't purchase. Had problems within a year of getting it and Asus support is completely useless.

Other Thoughts: Asus used to have good MB's now they are complete junk. I will never buy anything Asus again and would tell everyone who reads this to also not buy anything Asus as their brand is just horrible now.

3 out of 5 eggsLost the sound and PCI slot

Pros: Easy install

Cons: Sounds ports and PCI slot have failed after 15 months.

Other Thoughts: Purchased from Newegg in August of 2011. Everything worked fine until Nov 2012. Suddenly no sound. I bought an inexpensive sound card for the PCI slot assuming the onboard sound died, but the PCI slot is inoperable too. Stuck without sound.

1 out of 5 eggsGood Motherboard, Bad Lifespan

Pros: - High-End AMD CPU Compatability: AM3 - 2.8 GHZ to 3.4 GHZ with up to 6-Cores!
- 16 GB RAM at high clock ends.
- PCIe x1 for high end gfx such as GTX 560s

Cons: - Small, light-weight.
- Feels like cheap material and components.

Other Thoughts: This motherboard lasted me 1 Year and 2 Months of use, which is not a good average life-span for any motherboard. Most should last over 5 years if not more past their own warranty.

I had a pre-built HP model with an Asus motherboard and it lasted 6 years and counting, with no components replaced. Now that is QUALITY. I hope asus didn't discontinue this because of bad product and recalled it for a new version.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We sorry to hear about your experience with the motherboard. We would be happy to receive it and repair/replace the unit as necessary. Please RMA it to us using the following form at: http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_rmaserv.aspx or call us at 1-812-282-2787. Our motherboards are covered under a 3-year warranty (Sabertooth models 5-year).

3 out of 5 eggsVideo

Pros: If it does not function 100 % hqw can it have a pro

Cons: So far the video is not stable. Updated BIOS to latest. Latest ATI ATI video Driver ver 12.6. Latest ASUS drivers from theit web.

Other Thoughts: ASUS - Test a product before you put it on the market.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you had with the motherboard.

Can you tell me in under what condition is video not stable? During video playback, when gaming, or in desktop? Have you tried loading BIOS defaults? To continue troubleshooting, please contact me at cl-benson@asus.com reference #C1037-3367. Be sure to include a screenshot or picture of unstable video if possible.

5 out of 5 eggsOne year later, works great.

Pros: What more can I say that hasnt already been said in other reviews? Sata6,usb3,latest chipset from AMD. Came with plenty of cables to.
Got this board for cheap and it has worked flawlessly.

Cons: The sata ports can be hard to get to once the system is together.
Drivers on the cd and on Asus site are way out of date.

Other Thoughts: I don't OC and I think that's why this board has been so good for me.
Basic system specs:
Phenom II x4 965be
8gig ddr3 1333 ram
Geforce GT430 gpu

1 out of 5 eggsFeatures Don't Work

Pros: Impressive feature list

Cons: One of the main features that makes this board desirable, the 6 SATA ports and RAID controller does not work. I set up a 2TB RAID 1 (mirrored) partition which worked fine. After several minutes (probably hours) passed copying data from a backup disk the raid partition failed and the mirror was split.

Other Thoughts: ASUS RMA support sucks. I sent the board off and got it back within a week. It's looks like the same board and the RMA tracking site does not indicate what they did if anything. Over the past 10 years I have used MSI, Gigabyte, and ASUS boards that all get good reviews on hardware sites and New Egg. It seems like no matter what the brand/review is they all suck. I have a DFI LanParty bought used off of e-B-a-y that's lasted longer than these new boards.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Egg, Terrible Customer Service

Pros: Easy install, core unlocker worked like a charm, everything went smooth for a while...

Cons: Had to return twice for quality problems.

After about 6 months of light/moderate use, MB started flaking out and freezing before passing BIOS. Tried to update BIOS, it froze and corrupted BIOS. This was RMA#1. They only reflashed the BIOS and sent the card back, this process took around 7 weeks to resolve. About 3 months after, same problem. RMA #2.

Other Thoughts: Upon receiving new MB (which had another RMA # on it), discovered that factory installed CPU heat sink mounting bracket was considered an accessory that should have been removed before shipping back. I have spent the last 4 weeks playing phone tag, waiting for call backs, and listening to someone on the phone telling me I should have known better. Even though I have had this MB working for only about 5/12 months and two RMA's the call center said "there is nothing we can do", and suggested that I just buy another mounting bracket from them. I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER ASUS PRODUCT AGAIN. I completely understand a bad MB, it happens. However, my customer experience was so bad that I will just never take a chance with this company again.
