5 out of 5 eggsBetter then I would expect

Pros: One of the best motherboards I have ever owned. Runs a 1100t perfect.

Cons: Not much in OC ability on the cpu(3600-3700 stable, though you can hit 4.1-4.2 and still make it through 3dmark it just ain't pretty). To repeat what others have said, bios takes a bit to get use to. On that note, using a 125W cpu voltages need to be set manually for best performance (otherwise the board will downclock the cpu as load goes up, I found lowering the NB to 2200-2300 and lower the CPU voltage by two notches will solve power problems, leave the rest on auto), you will also need to manually turn on all cores. ohh and you will want to look at the settings for the RAM, my board misread my ram and gave some messed up voltages/timings/frequency. You can find exact settings with the Ram packaging. Once all that is fixed the board should power up and run smooth as butter:/

Other Thoughts: 1100t 3.3GHz x6
Kingston Laptop ram 2x4GB
64GB SSD Now Kingston (will replace around Christmas with a 256GB as prices are dropping like crazy)
Asus 6570
M4A88T-I Deluxe
4x scythe 40mmx10mm fan
3x scythe 40mmx20mm fan (all used in PSU to replace old fan)
1x scythe 60mmx20mm fan (have to order from UK)
1x foxconn 70mmx10mm fan to replace cpu block fan
Apevia 100 itx case (250W psu)

All that afixed (cause I couldn't say that word that also means carnal affairs - which I said cause I couldn't say ...) onto the back Acer AL2216W, with Logitech M515 couch mouse, K750 solar keyboard, and some really awful Rosewill USB speakers. The case is heavily modified to fit a 6570. 5800 3dmark vantage not OC, 7600 with cpu at 3686~ and gpu at 825/1075.

4 out of 5 eggsLinux drivers on cd

Pros: My first review was a little biased. There is linux drivers on the cd, linux runs great on this board. As a matter of fact linux seems to run better than windows 7 in terms of drivers. (standby didn't work in windows 7 that well)

Ubuntu varians shouldn't even need to install them off the cd since they are already included with the distro.(I think they are for red hat anyways)

I haven't tested the onboard video because of the uncommon dvi port standard that was used.

Cons: Doesnt use the usual dvi port for the onbloard. Still kind of raging about that.

Still dont like the foxcon name on some of the parts. I have owned a foxcon board that self destructed itself because I booted linux on it once. (Not sure if it was a bios mistake or foxcon but it happened.)

http://linuxologist.com/1general/even-more-incriminating-evidence-in-the-foxconn-debacle/

Other Thoughts: The motherboard functions really good.

The only thing I didnt like on the layout was where the wifi antennas are, and how the ram is super close to the cpu.

I use it for gaming. I paired it with my old nvidia 470, everyhitng is arranged in a way that it stays out of the way of a big video card.

I dont like over clocking but it does overclock really well when paired with nice ram.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little package with big options!

Pros: Great flexibility. Has a lot of included utilities from ASUS. I love the turbo v utility makes it easy for noobs to OC.

Has everything, and every option and supports usb 3.0.

Love the core unlocker and turbo switch onboard.

I upgraded my emachine el1300-g HTPC with this. made me a nice little power house. I have it hooked to my 55" LCD 1080i LOVE IT!

Cons: Loots of options make it very easy to get confused about how to setup your machine. I have done a fresh install 3 times now (win7) to get my machine setup how I want it.

Also I tried to setup RAID 0 and Win 7 64 would not recognize any drivers and it was a b to get put back to normal IDE.

Other Thoughts: I really think this would be a kick but machine if I could get RAID to work. But it is still a very powerful HTPC otherwise.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this motherboard

Pros: Tons packed into this tiny board, everything has been working flawlessly for me under Linux mostly and a bit of time with W7.

Didn't read carefully enough and bought a 4core 125w cpu, but it's been fine. Was able to undervolt a bit and temps look great. I do still have this in a full size case so that prob helps.

Cons: Came without wifi antennas and a few other little things, but was an open box deal so thats OK.

5 out of 5 eggs1 year review

Pros: Really good overclocker if you cool it properly.(4.6GHz on pii 975)

tiny... sodimms are CHEAP now &@ 1866mhz!!! super stable board... very well built...foxconn did NOT biuld this board like the guy below seems to think??? full x16 pcie lane on a m-itx..

this board WILL run ANY AM3 chip.. 6core, 4core, athlon or sempron

just NOT bulldozer FX chips... but if you want to run a chip beyond a 95 TDP and o/c it ---you best know how to cool a mobo properly.... ill expand on this in the other thoughts...

the wifi works great (if you're patient) good range too

FULL BIOS tons of options

now runs Asus AI Suite w tpu/epu!!! no fan xpert tho

pics do not show it but does now come with a VRM heatsink (i'd still replace it with copper ones tho)

been running it for a year now with a P II 975 BE @ 4.4GHz and an asus gtx 460 top dcu I and it's just as stable as it ever was!!!

Cons: 1) this board must be cooled-- sticking the NB/SB together like that gets too hot an down-throttles the cpu....if you dont cool it....

simple fix.... use a down draft cpu cooler or put a 50mm fan on the NB/SB (ive watercooled it tho...)

2) if you want to overclock it you'll need to replace the VRM heatsink with some of those small 1cmX1cm (or smaller) copper mini-sinks. (sold right here at newegg)

3) only has 3 sata ports. (but ARE RAID cpbl)
you can also use the usb3 ports for extra

Other Thoughts: NOT a beginners board...flat out...90% of the problems i read about in the reviews below are ALL HUMAN ERROR!!!

This mobo can be SOOOO much fun, and a GREAT learning exp if it lands in the right hands... if plug and play with no gfx card is what your after id really consider a LLANO board instead (has better on die gfx anyway)

ive had nothing but good exp with this lil'guy...heck it may be the ONLY fully watercooled mini-itx out there(???) any thing that goes wrong ive found it was MY FAULT and easily fixxed!!!

so in closing if you follow three simple rules you will be rewarded with an amazing amount of power in an amazingly small space

cool it

cool it

cool it!!!

1 out of 5 eggsidk if its just my board

Pros: compact:- fits ok with an ITX chase
wireless:- exists
overclocking ability: the only good thing about it

Cons: Where do I start??? I hate the HDMI output of this board!! The HDMI output never gets full resolution. It does not matter what driver is installed. I have tried all possible drivers with different combination of operating systems including Linux. It doesn’t even get full resolution in BIOS. That made me conclude that it wasn’t the driver. So I contacted ASUS support and they gave me an RMA. So I send it to them and they said it will take 7-10 business days once they receive it...seriously??? Which company does that? I tracked my package and it was received on a Tuesday but when I check my RMA on ASUS support website, they won’t say they received the item till Friday. Then they finally send the board back stating that it was fixed. So I rebuild my HTPC and of course I still do not get my full resolution. I still get that 2" black frame around the picture. Plus i had to pay for shipping!! i am soooo mad!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear about the issues. You will not receive full resolution in BIOS as most GPUs will default to a common resolution supported by all monitors.

Your issue sounds like a scaling problem from the display input on your monitor. This can be fixed by setting the appropriate scaling level in the driver control panel for your GPU. You will need to set "overscan" to 0% for a full image if you are getting a border around the screen.

Regards
ASUS Customer Support

3 out of 5 eggsArgggh!!!

Pros: Not sure since I RMA'd the board

Cons: I am confused about am3+ compatibility with Asus with their am3 boards Some are backward compatible while others aren't. This board listed as compatible with some 6 core processors, but apparently not the one I bought (AMD FX-6100 Zambezi 3.3GHz Socket AM3+ 95W Six-Core). Perhaps that is my fault. The I/O shield was atrocious, very flimsy and cheap. I returned the board for the 1 x ASUS F1A75-I Deluxe FM1 AMD A75 which has 6gb/s SATA and USB 3.0 and MUCH better I/O shield. However, it utilizes the F1 AMD chips. Because Newegg's policy is no returns on CPUs that meant another motherboard to accommodate the am3+ chip I bought. This is getting expensive...

Other Thoughts: 1 x ASUS F1A75-I Deluxe FM1 AMD A75 installed and working flawlessly. Still a fan of Asus boards, and have never had one fail on me. Still not sure if this is my fault or not in choice of CPUs. I do believe they are pushing boards out with immature BIOS updates though.

2 out of 5 eggsFoxcon ewww

Pros: Turns on and off.
Pci-e x16 slot.
Has better drivers than my previous asus board had.

Cons: FOXCON name on some of the jacks. FOXCON has designed their boards in the past to self destruct if you run any os besides windows. (when loading linux on some older foxcon boards, the bios gets corrupted. foxcon is somewhat hostile to linux.)
I cannot believe asus would put crrapp like that on their board even though it is just a connector.

Now that I'm done ranting about that, the normal cons are:

Not a standard DVI connector.
RAM could not be any closer to cpu.
wifi ports are under the audio jacks. regular wifi antennas get in the way.
Asus site still slow.

Other Thoughts: Would it have killed them to use a standard DVI connector?

4 out of 5 eggsBest AMD ITX Board... for now.

Pros: PCI-e on a mini ITX board. Feature rich. Compact size. Build in wifi with the ability to be a Wifi AP.

Cons: Summary: not SATA III, Software for WiFi AP is shotty at best. North bridge chipset/heat sink is very close to PCI-e slot so cooling may be an issue with Graphics card.

More Detail: 1. I really hate the software for the wireless access point. I think they tried to simplify it for less tech savvy users but failed. I've been in IT for 12 years and I had a hard getting it to work. Also, After getting it to work I connect a laptop to the SSID and it takes ~5 minutes to be able to use the internet.
2. I use a Saphire 6570 low profile card and when running graphic intensive games (like Skyrim) I get frequent driver crashes. This seems to happen when the GPU gets to ~50C. I blame this more on the inadequate cooling on the card but the North Bridge gets very hot under any load and I can't help but feel it's contributing to the overheating. Then again many VGA cards are able to handle temps above 90C so this may be just a fail for Sapphire.

Other Thoughts: I really wanted an AM3 or AM3+ mini ITX board with SATA III (6.0Gbps). My only requirement is a PCI-e slot for a better graphics card. I'm not disappointed though. My OCZ SSD (SATA III) gets a 7.7 on the windows experience test. So I shouldn't complain.
I wish there was a better selection of Mini ITX boards on Newegg but as of this posting this one is the best. I guess I'm an AMD fan boy but I have build AMD systems with MSI, Jetway and Asus motherboards and now I'm an ASUS fan too. I love their BIOS and Over Clocking is very simple. I'm running a Phenom II x4 960T at 3.6 Ghz with no issues. I would love to unlock the other 2 cores but I tried and it didn't recognize the processor. The TDP max on this board is 95W so I'm pretty sure that's why it won't take it.

Specs:
M4A88T-I Deluxe (obviously)
Phenom II x4 960T
4Gb Gskill DDR3 1333 RAM
Saphire 6570 1GB DDR3
120GB OCZ Vertex 3 SATA III SSD

2 out of 5 eggsFailed after several boots

Pros: -Small form
-Has nice bios with over-clock features

Cons: -GPU over heats and Mobo shuts down
-Battery craddle flimsy and was shipped to me snapped off already
-No VGA out and DVI is the one without 4 holes around the slot hole. I think its called DVI-D, and is nearly impossible to find a DVI-D to VGA.

Other Thoughts: I sent ASUS 3 different RMA's each time w/o any follow up from anyone. the last time bot sent email and was sent a customer survey.

Been emailing one person from there that I got from Newegg that works for ASUS. he told me to submit my info and since Dec 12th no response since. (today 1/13/12)

ASUS Tech Support is Terrible, Could be a nice product if corners are not cut. Last time I ever buy ASUS

2-3 eggs for product
