5 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: Working well since 2011 in a Xen server system that runs 24X7. No issues, board just continues on.

Cons: No cons; ASUS delivers once again.

4 out of 5 eggsgot a slightly buggy board

Pros: Problem free build. Good quality construction.

Cons: Rarely get error -- display driver stopped responding and self recovered, but still a black mark in my book. No stranger to this error and over the years--and many, many builds--have isolated this hardware issue to the motherboard. There is no fix, simply must trash the board...trust me on this one. I'm guessing its a faulty north bridge and cannot be remedied.

Other Thoughts: Zotac motherboards have been notorious for this error in my past experience. No known fix...flashing bios, reformatting hd, driver updating/reinstallation, swapping out gpu, all a waste of time. Bummer to experience this with a "better" name brand board.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Board

Pros: Solid board, has the basics. Nice that it has USB3, despite only being a SATA-300 board. Decent for a mATX setup. Never had stability issues with it. On-board graphics can be active and used even with an add-in graphics card installed and running. Overclocking was decent, but not the intended goal of the board so I never pushed it all that hard, and only by increasing the cpu multiplier. I never pushed it that hard, but I never made it a point to try, either.

Cons: Cons are really only the same as other reviewers have mentioned; when using the BIOS core unlock/unleash utility, it cuts the hardware monitoring and CoreTemp and AMD Overdrive were unable to pull sensor temps. Board wasn't able to manually, or automatically, differentiate between 3 and 4-pin CPU fans. Kind of stinks considering I can get that feature on a low-end MSi board. Manual stinks; had to search online for what certain features did. Also... why the lack of fan headers??? I've had plenty of other mATX boards, ASUS, Gigabyte, and otherwise, that had at least 2 more headers on it... Individually these aren't really a reason to knock an egg off, but as a bundle, I feel it is.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I liked the board. I just regret having bought a mATX form-factor, when what I really needed was a full ATX. I also regret the fact that I bought the board as a "hold me over" cheapie so I could use DDR3, until Bulldozer came out. Which was a huge disappointment. So I instead decided to defect to the "Intel Dark-Side" with an i5-2500K and ASRock P67 setup. Thus, I "retired" this board and a 955 BE, to my home server; which it happily runs Server 2008 R2 like no one's business.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Little Mobo

Pros: -Works as advertised
-Core unlocker turned my dual core cpu into a quad core

Cons: -Core unlocker made me unable to monitor my CPU temps except through an external sensor. My CPU runs very cool, but it was concerning to open AMD Overdrive and SIW to see my CPU temps as a flat 0C for all cores. This might just be a CPU flaw so I won't dock an egg and losing temp reads in exchange for two unpaid for cores is worth it.

Other Thoughts: I wish the bottom PCI slot was instead another PCIe x16 2.0 slot so I could run crossfire in my portable rig. 1 card still meets my needs though.

4 out of 5 eggsSupport was Dissapointing

Pros: Great Motherboard! Performance was outstanding!
Great Features!

Cons: Didn't come with a backplate!
Huge dissapointment! Very dissapointed with Asus and their support. An RMA is now too much trouble and I don't have the time to mess with it. Not only that but the VGA port feels like it going to break whenever a cable is plugged into it. A little flimsy without backplate support.

Other Thoughts: I realize these things happen. Oh well.
Trying to find another backplate somewhere online.

Asus still makes Awesome Motherboards.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: LOVE ASUS which is one of the main reasons i bought the board. The memory ok is a unique feature i like. The core unlocker is works great. It was very easy to install. Overall this little board packs a powerful punch.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: This board is great on the account that i can always upgrade from my quad cpu to a six core later.
