Pros: I have read all the negative reviews about this board and the USB 3 ports going out,but I can tell you my experience has been a very good one.. I got this board in March of 2011 right when the rev 3 came out and I have not looked back..Paired with a 2600K @ 4800mhz it has been flawless.. I did not want any part of ASUS before this board..My first p67 was an ASROCK Extreme 6 then the recall happened and the ASUS was the first board available and I am happy it was because it overclocks way better than the ASROCK board did..
Cons: None!
Other Thoughts: The people who say they have a high tech experience with computers and then say this board is junk, you can plainly see they know nothing about computers..

Pros: Looks very nice.
Cons: This mobo working fine for about 2 months then the usb ports started going out. I lost one keyboard to it, and had to re-install my old mobo.

Rating: 2/5Oy...Asus, come on.
Pros: Fast, Great board for the tweaker, Amazing OC capabilities, plenty of heat sinks.
Cons: Well, I have owned this board since 4/14/11 and for about a year and a half it was doing ok. Just a few days ago, it not only fried the top USB ports, but took my mouse and keyboard out with it -_- My G19 and Mx518 are not responsive at all. I tried it on other computer and I get No power to both. The ports on my Motherboard are tweaking out. They'll work for a bit, then 100% shut down on me. I Don't understand what's going on! lol. It scares me to see how many people are also having the same problem on there boards as well. I've resorted to only having (cheap) mouse and keyboard plugged into the bottom USB ports since I am afraid of More of my components frying on me.
Other Thoughts: I'm rather upset with how many problems people are having with this board. I waited Months for this board to come back into stock after they were recalled. Then to drop a Ton of money on it to have it wreck a $200 keyboard and $40 mouse. Not Cool.
Manufacturer Response:

Rating: 2/5First board DOA, Second one USB ports break
Pros: Great motherboard when It works.
Cons: The first one I got was DOA and they attempted to charge me for shipping on both ends, me sending in my DOA one, And them shipping the new one. Once I finally got it and it was all situated the board that they sent me looked used but refurbished. I didn't order a used board. I purchased a new one. But because they sent me a bad board, they think its okay to send me a used one. Either way, the new mobo worked fine for about 5 months, then the top 4 USB ports slowly stopped working. It didn't bother me for too long because I wasn't using them too much. Finally the next month, My Audio interface, My mouse, My Mic, And my game pad all shut off. all but 2 of my USB ports are now broken. I really hope ASUS can solve this problem for me.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
We're sorry to hear about the experience you had with this motherboard.
Motherboards that we send to you as replacements are not new but refurbished units. However, they have been tested to work just as well as a new unit. If the replacement is now having issues with the I/O port, we would be glad to send you another replacement. Please contact us at 1-812-282-2787 as soon as possible.
We only cover one-way (return) shipping for RMA. Customers are responsible for the cost of shipping the unit to our service center.

Rating: 4/5Great Board despite negative reviews
Pros: This thing has all the bells and whistles for the overclocking enthusiasts. POST LEDs. This things are way helpful when adding new components that might be DOA. The reset BIOS button. Handy when overclocking. Having 2 BIOS chips. Easy switching from overclocking config to non overclocking config. ROG connect feature. Tons of room.
Cons: Mine arrived DOA like much of the others that have posted negative reviews but I'm not an douch and understand sometimes there's a bad board in the batch. I too have had USB 2.0 devices plugged in the USB 3.0 port problems. I haven't updated my BIOS to the most recent so that might fix but I don't know. Installing the USB 2.0 bracket that the MoBo came with fixed that issue.
Other Thoughts: Lost one egg for the USB and DOA problems. ASUS was more than helpful and so was newegg like always. For those of you that have the USB problems just update the BIOS like ASUS says to do. I read someone complaining about the BIOS update process!?!?! It's the easiest thing to do. Download the file. Reboot. Get into the BIOS. Click the update BIOS tab. Browse for the file. Update the BIOS. DUR!!!!

Pros: -Excellent overclocking. -Great Multi GPU Support -Nice component layout -Lots of ports -USB 3.0 -Awesome UEFI bios.
Cons: -The asus ROG light on the board failed. Its only cosmetic, but it looked cool when it worked.
Other Thoughts: Don't understand all the negative reviews. Seems most people only make reviews if they get a lemon. I have had great experience with Asus boards, this one no different.

Rating: 3/5Decent Board... if it works
Pros: The board has a few pros. - Looks nice - Great bios - Easy CPU overclocking
Cons: Asus has gone downhill. I've used them for the past 20 years, almost exclusively. If they make a product, this is the brand I've gone with for that product. However, this motherboard has shaken my faith in this company.
The first one I got wouldn't even post. It didn't detect the processor (brand new i5 2500k). I called Newegg and they RMA'd it as an advanced RMA with no problems. They took my credit card info in case I didn't return the old mobo, but they didn't bill me (this is standard practice for advanced RMA's).
The second mobo did OK, until recently (about 7 months of ownership). The top 5 USB ports on the I/O panel died. I called Asus and they determined I'd need an RMA. They asked if I'd like an advanced replacement and I said yes to that.
Asus then proceeded to attempt to charge me $335 for this motherboard, before they would even ship the replacement. Then it took them 3 days after submitting my RMA paperwork, to tell me that they were going to charge me the money before they sent it.
Terrible terrible customer service.
Other Thoughts: I'm the head of IT for a large company. So, I deal with warranty claims on a regular basis. This has been, by far, my worst warranty experience. I'm very disappointed in Asus.
Gigabyte actually stands by their products and is quick about RMA's with free overnight shipping (if you ask nicely). I'm not a Gigabyte convert.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
We're sorry to hear about the USB port you had on the motherboard and your experience with the RMA process.
The $335 that was placed on your credit card is an authorization hold, not a charge. This hold takes place before we release the replacement for shipping. Once you receive the replacement, simply ship the original unit back to us and the hold will be released. Different credit card companies notate this hold differently, as a charge or otherwise. You will only be charged if you do not return the original unit back to us. If you have any questions or concerns RMA or motherboard related, feel free to contact me at cl-benson@asus.com.

Rating: 1/5Worst Purchase
Pros: None
Cons: The product was DOA. The memory slots were unable to read my DDR3 RAM. I tried with a variety of sticks and got the same error. When I tried to return it (Making sure not to damage it) Newegg claimed I damaged the CPU pins. This is probably my only review and warning since I am no longer going to purchase anything else from newegg. This purchase ended with a net loss of around 400$ and a dead MOBO. tl;dr This MOBO is a failure and Newegg Customer support is awful
Manufacturer Response:
Dear valued Customer,
We apologize for the issue you had with the motherboard.
Regarding the damaged socket pins, you can RMA the motherboard to us for repair. Unfortunately this type of damage is not covered under warranty and there will be a cost to have it repaired--we will replace the entire socket. To RMA the motherboard, please visit: http://vip.asus.com/eservice/usa_rmaserv.aspx or call 1-812-282-2787.

Rating: 2/5Sweet board when it works.
Pros: Robust options for OC. Very nice BIOS setup. Nice board layout overall. Functions very well when it is working.
Cons: As of now, I've owned it for a little over 7 months. Many driver issues have forced me to recover from a backup image. This latest issue is the last straw. The SATA ports are randomly failing, causing my machine to lock up. Upon reboot, the boot device can not be detected. I was able to get it up and running again after a lot of fighting with Windows recovery tools, but will be replacing this board as soon as I possibly can.
Other Thoughts: Asus products will have to prove their quality to me again before I purchase another one.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Valued Customer,
We apologize for the issue you had with the motherboard.
Can you try using different SATA ports, swapping from Intel to Marvell and vice versa? Is the result the same? Is there a set pattern when the board does not detect your SATA devices? Please try loading the latest BIOS (version 3211) from our website: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/Maximus_IV_Extreme/#download, using another power supply and connect drives to different rails if possible, and try swapping SATA cables. You may also try turning off overclock and observe if the issue reappears.
To continue support, please contact me at cl-benson@asus.com. Reference #C1037-4838 in the email subject line and include system hardware setup and specs for faster reply.
