Pros: i love this board all the features are great but 1 see cons. easily overclockable

Cons: the only reason i took of an egg was that almost everytime i power down the next time i turn on my pc it wont detect either my lan port or my audio conections and you need to go in to the bios and enable them

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy with the AM3+ chip without a new BIOS chip

Pros: This board has a lot of promise, seems very flexible.

Cons: I bought this board February 2012 with the new AM3+ processor. It won't POST with the existing BIOS chip (sorry I don't have the version as I get no video, and their is no onboard speaker for POST code). Asus tech support told me I need a new BIOS chip to support the processor.

Other Thoughts: It takes 10 or more days to get an updated chip.

1 out of 5 eggsCould not enter BIOS

Pros: None(on my current board)

Cons: would not work, bios is no existent on the board i recieved, it would no boot into the bios no matter what i did. a little bit of research and i learned others had similar or the exact same problem. seems these boards are hit or miss. unluckily for me, mine was a miss. VERY angry about wasted time, effort, and the amount of stress this $230 paperweight has cost me.

Other Thoughts: Going to RMA this board ASAP. im very disappointed in ASUS, their products are usually much better. this being a $230 board makes me worried about the future products ASUS come out with. Hopefully my next board works like a charm or i will have to go with another brand. :/

5 out of 5 eggsBEST MOTHERBOARD EVER!!

Pros: This is the most beautiful motherboard I have ever seen, unboxing it was fun. Great board, installed fast and easy, has plenty of USB(3.0)!!!
Well worth the money for my 8 core processor that's overclocked from 3.6 to 4.5 on air cooling stable just upping multiplier.

Cons: Wish it was a lil cheaper, $200 woulda been nice... Not enough to knock an egg off.

Other Thoughts: Don't regret this one bit.

5 out of 5 eggsNew Dozer Build

Pros: This board is a BEAST! has plenty of extras and the added x-fi audio is a big plus. Full support for my new fx-8120 straight from the package. Awesome UEFI Bios makes overclocking a breeze. Have had so much fun with this I can't stop tweaking and newegg is having fun charging my card for new toys! Would like to thank ASUS for making this build so easy. Was nervous waiting on this to arrive because others are complaining about QC issues, package damage, and no AM3+ support. None of which was true. Had a large package with an entire build shipped from Newegg and payed the extra for next day service and thats what I got Newegg.com = A+ Service!!

Cons: Only thing I don't care for is the color, it is red, although it does match the AMD Bulldozer scheme it does not match my black case and blue LED fans. If ROG has to be a red silver gray/black scheme please put the same specs on a different color board. So not much of a con, but a good excuse to get rid of my Antec 1200 and move to my Corsair case.........

Other Thoughts: This build went super smooth. Here are my specs and I will include OC settings for those who are curious.

AMD FX-8120:
OC'd to 4.8 GHz Stable 1.45v
XFX-7950:
OC'd to 1240MHz core clock, 1700 Mem clock, 1212mV MSI Afterburner for the OC
3Dmark score=9087 on 1 card!
4x4GB 2133mhz G-skill rip-jaws, set at 1.7v timing also set from 11-11-11-30 to 9-11-10-28
Had on a Corsair H60 that was cooking me to a 4.5 stable OC replaced with the H100 today and can run at 5Ghz but decided 4.8 was cooler and lower voltage. H100 made a 10 degree differance over the H60.
Windows 7 Professional
Antec 1200 case- H100 only fit because I modded it so don't buy unless your not using H100
Only included all this in this review because did not finish OC untill today when H100 came to replace H60. Hopefully you will gain some knowledge but remember not all OC's are the same you may get more or less.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Board

Pros: This board is just awesome. The features it has will no doubt boggle the mind of the less experiance Oclocker. The auto tune is a nice little feature but you can get more out of the CPU in manuel mode so to say. I have the AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz clocked at 4.5 and running at a very cool 30c idle and no more than 49c full load with this board. Will deffently buy another.

Cons: Sata ports suck! There are many that is true. It's just the direction at which they point can be a pain. However, that will not stop me from buying another.

Other Thoughts: Nice board you wont regret buying it.

1 out of 5 eggsDesign flaw!!!

Pros: Looks nice

Cons: Mind you, I'm not having problems getting through to Asus service. The last guy slipped and said they were getting a lot of RMA's with my symptoms. I'm currently returning my second DOA board. The flaw is in the PCIE 16 bus lane. It may boot to the point of either starting Windows, or into the setup, but then it goes black and powers off the computer. The LED post check lights go through their cute little dance, only to flash on the VGA graphics LED (why do they call it VGA? kinda stupid, don't ya think?). Then blinks on the CPU LED and immediately powers down. This is supposed to indicate that the board has some issue with the video card or communication, there of. I guess I should be thankful that it does power down and doesn't eat my farg'n FX 8150, 'eh? If Asus is trying to capture the "robust sturdy board" market, and likewise the gaming community....they better get on the stick.

Other Thoughts: I've been in computer operations and communications for most of my career. When the service kid (and I do mean KID) suggested that I may have mishandled the board during installation, I informed him of the fore mentioned fact. I also pointed out to him, that he was the one who said they were "getting a lot of board being returned for that reason." He tried to retrace his steps and tried to smooth things over by saying that even the ASUS bench technical staff were having troubles with installing this board. Now THERE's a big indicator that there's trouble in paradise. I hope third time's a charm!!! Oh, this second RMA is direct with Asus. I think this might be a mistake....supposed to (the kid proudly said) only take 14 days... Yeah, and I've already been without my PC for a month....AND Guess who gets to pay all this shipping?

2 out of 5 eggs3doa 4th work(ing)

Pros: I can finally get it to run.

Cons: If I am sitting idle it will run all day long, when i try and stress test or run any games it will crash within 2 minutes. CD wouldn't run for drivers. I called ASUS about the third board and it not being compatiable with my FX8120, I was told by them that "it has a sticker that says 'fx ready' so it is your fault and a faulty CPU". Got the 4th one 2 days ago and I have been fighting with it since, CD will not work to installed driver, crashes when I try and load games. This is the last ASUS product i will be buying, I stuck with them trying to be loyal but enough is enough.

Other Thoughts: ASUS has really gone down hill from my experience.

4 out of 5 eggspretty amazing

Pros: really great craftsmanship, lots of features, nice layout.

Cons: when I first got the board, I was able to set my memory to 2133. but when I updated the BIOS to the latest, the system wouldn't even boot. had to reset CMOS and can only run my memory at 1866 right now. hoping they fix that in next BIOS update.

Other Thoughts: not really using any of the included software for overclocking or anything, so I can't give an opinion about that stuff. but it's definitely a good mobo.
