1 out of 5 eggsSolid motherboard. NO DUAL GRAPHICS

Pros: +The board works.
+UEFI Bios is nice

Cons: ASUS/AMD, I'm beyond frustrated. AMD Dual Graphics is a joke. I've done all the different methods detailed through ASUS.com, AMD.com, and even helpful resources such as eggXpert. IT DOESN'T WORK!

I WANT A REFUND for this board! AMD - I want a refund for my APU seeing how Dual Graphics is bogus!

-SATA ports on-board work poorly with included angled SATA cables. Luckily I had cables from a different (Better/GIGABYE) motherboard.

Other Thoughts: May seem whiney. But when I pay $99 for an AMD motherboard to give APU's / AMD Dual Graphics a try, I want it to work.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you had with the motherboard.

For AMD Dual-graphics to function, a quad-core A-series APU is required. The A6-3500 is a triple-core APU and is therefore not supported. This motherboard is capable of Dual Graphics but it is dependent on using a compatible APU.

Please visit http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/dual-graphics/pages/dual-graphics.aspx#1 and http://www.amd.com/us/products/technologies/dual-graphics/pages/dual-graphics.aspx#4 for more information regarding AMD Dual Graphics Technology.

Benson

4 out of 5 eggsGood board, not great.

Pros: I have an AMD A8 3870 running on this board with 8 GB of memory (1333 MGHz because I had it lying around) and it is Auto Tuned to 3.3GHz no problem with an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Ver2 CPU cooler. I like the UEFI Bios and aside from the cons listed below I am very happy with all other features of this board.

Cons: The PCI-E x1 slot is under the PCI-E 2.0 x16 slot. What were they thinking? I have an XFX 6670 Graphics Card installed that covers this slot up. I am stuck with very few choices for wireless connectivity. The regular PCI adapters are hard to find and not as good as the PCI-E adapters. I built this machine for a friend and still don't know if they will need a wireless adapter but my choices are much limited if they do. The last Asus FM1 board I used had the PCI-E x1 slot above the graphics card. I kick myself for not noticing this big drawback before I bought it. That is the one egg I deducted.

Other Thoughts: I like the FM1 platform and dollar for dollar this is a great performing machine. I will say that I tested it with no grahics card and my Win7 WEI graphics numbers were 5.9 and 6.6. With Crossfire they went up to 6.4 and 6.6 but running the 6670 by itself I get a 7.1 and 7.1. This surprised me. I would have thought the Crossfire setup would have been best.

3 out of 5 eggsUEFI Difficult

Pros: Has a lot of features, recognized everything I attached to it

Cons: I don't use all the features, mouse for UEFI runs off of scroll wheel, other comment about boot choice correct about method to boot from a different drive. UEFI is clumsy. Onboard video (A8) interferes with add-on card reconfiguring it not to is difficult and varies from one setup to the next.

Other Thoughts: If it's a setup and forget system it's fine... if you are going to tinker/learn get a different board without UEFI

5 out of 5 eggsF1A75 M

Pros: Works great every time. I have used this board 6 times now and not one has failed.

All builds were for average gaming, CS5 and public workstations.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: use RAM at 1600 or higher, it helps with the GPU side a lot. If you have stable RAM that can be pushed or can buy higher RAM, get it to tight times at 1866
Tested on this board with A6-3650 at 3.0GHz, 4GBs RAM at 1866 with SATAIII 1TB
WEI scores are:
Processor - 7.2
RAM - 7.6
Graphics - 6.6
Gaming Graphics - 6.6
Hard drive - 5.9 (7.9 with SSD)

4 out of 5 eggsOK, not great

Pros: Does everything necessary, once you find the Advanced BIOS settings.

Cons: I hate the UEFI BIOS. Lots of options seem to have disappeared, e.g., to boot from a different drive you don't hit F11, you have to enter the BIOS, find the boot page, scroll down and click on the desired boot device and wait... and wait... about a minute before the boot to begin.

Other Thoughts: I hope mobo manufacturers will learn to merge the BIOS features of old into the new BIOS or offer the older version as an update.

5 out of 5 eggsQuality little board

Pros: ASUS quality. UEFI BIOS. USB 3.0. SATA 6GB/S. Memcheck feature.

Cons: Unfortunately, UEFI BIOS can only run at standard resolutions - on my 1080i TV most of the BIOS screen is cut off.

Other Thoughts: Other than the UEFI gripe, this is another solid ASUS product.
