1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Unable to make any judgement as of yet. I will update if I get one that works.

Cons: DOA

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you had the motherboard being DOA.

Please let me know what CPU and memory you're using on the motherboard. Some CPU's require newer BIOS in order to POST. Please see here for more info: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_FM1/F1A75M/#CPUS. Are you using memory that's on our QVL? Memory on the QVL have been tested in our labs and are known to work on the motherboard. The list is at http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_Socket_FM1/F1A75M/#MSL.

Please try plugging a system speaker to the 4-pin speaker connector (lower right corner) and monitor if any beeps that occur when you turn on the computer.

Note that the motherboard cannot support HDMI and DVI simutaneously.

Please let me know your complete system parts and specs so that I can help you troubleshoot the no POST issue with this motherboard.

Regards,
Benson

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely wonderful

Pros: Solid, inexpensive MicroATX board with plenty of features. SATA III, USB 3.0, DDR3 1866 support, and UEFI BIOS all worked wonderfully. I used this as the cornerstone for my new HTPC build, and I couldn't be happier. Partnered with an A8-3850, it's very quiet and uses between 60-100 watts from the wall (measured w/ Kill-a-Watt meter). That's w/ two 5400 RPM mechanical drives, an SSD, and a blu-ray drive.

Cons: Has a standard PCI slot; wish I could find a board that didn't.
USB 3.0 was a new experience for me. You have to install drivers in Windows separately. Not sure when I'll actually have a USB 3.0 product, but it's there when I do. The USB 3.0 fast-charge requires that the ASUS utility be installed, and evidently it only works with Apple products. I only have an iPod Touch (my wife's), and I guess it charged it quickly. It doesn't get much use since we both got Android phones.
HDMI worked on my Dell monitor when I was setting it up, but I couldn't get it to boot into Windows when I hooked it up to my Onkyo receiver via HDMI. It took me 30 min to think to try a monitor w/ VGA to figure out what the issue was. I almost reinstalled Windows. However, a quick driver update from AMD's website to the APU video driver fixed the problem. It was newer than the one on the ASUS download page.

Not sure if it is HDMI 1.4 capable or not. Thinking about buying a 3D TV in the future.

Other Thoughts: Deactivated product? I bought the CSM version because it was about the same price, and I thought I would have better support from ASUS if the need arose. I'm glad everything worked, because if I had had to RMA it to Newegg, I would have had to get a refund (minus restocking fee) and order the non-CSM model. Can't dock an egg for the board for that.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Using this motherboard in conjunction with an AMD A8-3870k and 8GB of ram for my Dad's computer system. Haven't tried any overclocking. So far it has been 100% stable.

Cons: Motherboard's UEFI (BIOS) dated back to July of 2011.

Other Thoughts: Updating the UEFI was a snap due to the built-in update utility that is able to read a large assortment of USB media (2GB SD card in a card reader in this case).

5 out of 5 eggsLoving It

Pros: Used this for my HTPC build. Everthing is working flawlessly so far. This is my first Install of Win 7 Home Prem 64 bit on an OCZ 60Gb SSD and it is super fast. Boot-up times are 25 seconds or less. Works above my expectations. Have yet to buy my tv card but plan on a Hauppauge 1229 WinTV-HVR-2250.

Cons: None I can think of

Other Thoughts: My HTPC Build;

4 out of 5 eggsMobo review

Pros: Works very well. Asus applications are very nice, lots of information is provided to the user. For the price there is alot of features and the build quaility is very good.

Cons: Found 2 issues with this mobo, both are document in support forums.
1). There has been isses with the AI suite 2 and low voltage warnings. This seems to be an issue with the software and not the mobo. I don't know personally with thie issue is because I didn't use a voltage meter. I had this issue with the Corsair cx600 w psu. The higher end psu don't see to have this issue.
2). After installing all drivers through their installation cd and installation software, I was missing 3 drivers. SM bus controller, 2 usb controller/hubs. You will have to go into device manager and make the device search the CD for the drivers.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to well document the issues so, everyone else doesn't have to look to fix them. But by no means does this suggest you shouldn't buy this mobo. The mobo is definitly worth the money even with the small issues. I hope this helps.
