ASUS P5G41T-M LX PLUS LGA 775 Intel G41 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard

Pros: Great little motherboard has an I3 2120 proc in it and runs 8 gigs of ram with no problems a 120 gig SSD and a 1.5 tb HDD as storage for my mom with an old ASUS 4870 graphics card and it will play most games pretty well

Cons: for some strange reason it forgets what drive is the bootable one, have to go into the bios and select the SSD again instead of the HDD. 3 times in a year and a half that I have owned the board.

Pros: Up to 8gb of DDR3 memory. Good heatsink on the Northbridge.

Cons: Only one PCIe-x1 slot. No eSATA port. Needed an extension cable for the hard drive activity LED.

Other Thoughts: The build consists of an Antec Minuet case with a battered used Q9300, Rosewill RCX-Z300 CPU cooler, SI-PEX40061 SATA 6Gb/s card, 8gb of G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3, Kingston SSD and Seagate 750gb notebook drive. Very quick with no lag whatsoever.

Pros: Overclocks descent
uses up to pc12800 1600mhz ram ( i run this in my core 2 duo e8400,8500,8600 cpu builds) wow they still seem fast even in 2013 tweeked like this (i'm a i5 2500k owner as well so this statment means something)

Cons: its hard to find these boards anymore i wish they would keep these available , its like an easter egg hunt lol

Other Thoughts: ive purchased over 7 of these boards , they've all fired right up and i get descent overclocks in all my builds ive used with these here are some examples
e8600 c2d 3.82 ghz
e8500 c2d eo stepping 3.63ghz
e8400 c2d eo stepping 3.47 ghz
q6600 c2q 2.9ghz
e7400 c2d 3.23ghz
e5300 pentium dc 3.15ghz

these are not hardcore overclocks but this board overclocks them better than any other 775 matx ive tried , my benchmarks are better on this board than any other ive used ,which have included MSI G31,G41 mobos, Gigabyte G41 mobo, Asrock G41 mobo.
ECS and foxconn boards ive tried were garbage and never worked i'll refrain what i think about them.

Pros: - LGA775
- Can handle my Radeon HD 7850 at full speed.
- Nice color scheme and layout.
- Good Size
- Bios is easy to operate and overclock.

Cons: I knew all of this stuff before buying the board but:
- 1 PCI x16 slot
- 2 Memory Slots
- Not many 3 pin fan headers

Other Thoughts: I purchased two of these boards over a year ago. I didn't have the money to upgrade to a new CPU at the time so I was hunting for a newer LGA775 board. This was perfect. Installation was a breeze and overclocking was even easier. The bios even has it's own pre-configured overclocking profiles (10%, 15%, 20%...). I put in two G.Skill Ripjaws 4gb running at 1066mhz. Haven't had a single problem yet. I would highly recommend this board to anybody still using the LGA775 socket.

Pros: Small form factor.. easy to fit into just about any case. It's ASUS. What can I say? Stable & Reliable, just as I've come to expect from them. I coupled this board with 8 gb of Crucial Ballistix DDR3 1333 ram (the max -- 16 gb max would've been better). Popped a core 2 quad e8300 into it.. and it runs great.. Skyrim? No probs whatsoever.

Cons: Sorry guys, but only 4 SATA ports does NOT cut it.. Now I'm gonna have to go order a PCI SATA II / III controller so I can add more drives to this beast. only 2 RAM slots?! I must say that is a major drawback, but for the price at the time, I had to settle. *shrugs*. -- This board doesn't overclock worth anything, so do NOT expect to be able to.. The options are there in the bios, but no matter what I try, I CANNOT OC my CPU, which really kinda stinks.. while others with other boards have easily OC'ed the same CPU with AIR COOLING. Not sure what's up with that. But as long as you've got a decently fast stock speed / specs on your CPU, it's really a non-issue.

Other Thoughts: Keep this board happy, clean and cool.. and it'll serve you well. If you have inadequate cooling in your case, you will indeed eventually start experiencing problems.

Pros: no problems for nearly a year but the LAN controller has now failed. It worked great untill then.

Cons: The Lan controller failed in less than a year.

Other Thoughts: I was very happy with the unit untill the failure.

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: Nothing, zip, nada. All the lights come on and the fans start. Will not post. The hard drive will not spin up. I bought this about 9 months ago, but didn't get around to putting all the pieces together until last week. Returning to NEWEGG is not an option.

Other Thoughts: I received the following from "Fiona" in asus "Tech Support."

Please clear CMOS. Then you should take the motherboard out of case and keep the necessary components (a CPU, a video card, a memory,) clear BIOS for a test.

In the end, please replace other accessories to test.

I can clear the CMOS by removing and re-installing the battery, but I can't figure out how to clear the BIOS if it will not post.

I don't guess they understood me.. It's dead.

Clearing CMOS using the jumper method or by removing the battery will reset to BIOS defaults. Once you've done this, plug a VGA cable to the onboard for a test, or if using a discrete card, plug the respective video cable from your monitor. Be sure that the monitor is set to receive the correct output. Without the drive installed, the board will still POST. If you have the drive connected to the SATA ports but does not power on, check the SATA power connection/cable.

Also, try connecting a system speaker to the system panel and monitor for beeps:
1 long beep and 2 short beeps = memory
1 long beep and 3 short beeps = VGA

Pros: Great board, designed by ASUS, always a great company, but little over priced sometimes, but what isn't.
for the price, and how old the LGA 775 is, it's a great board, I'd say go for it.

Other Thoughts: I had 4gb ddr3 in it, but I kept getting blue screens, figured out it was the Ram that was corrupt, I took one stick out, seems to work now, but with 2gb in this day and age, it's horrible, but, I still don't know if it's the motherboard slot, or the actual RAM.

Pros: This motherboard has a connection for everything. I have 5 hard drives connected and two blu-ray drives and I am running a RAID 10 array as well. Double UEFI BIOS is amazing. SLI support is a great option. I am also able to run my new FX 8 core processor and overclock it without any stability problems. Fastest computer I have ever used. Windows rating at 7.6 across all components I have attached. This motherboard laughs at all of it and says give me more. LOVE IT!

Cons: I obtained an RMA from ASUS to have this board repaired. It was going to cost me over $155.00 to ship this $59.00 board to Canada for repair. Needless to say, I didn't send it off, I ordered a different board. Quite a racket.
