5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap; on-board video, LAN and audio; good design.
This is a great motherboard if trying to save money.

Cons: Only 4x USB slots wish there was 6 USB slots.

Pros: Cheap; on-board vid,lan and audio; good design.2nd one seems to be just fine...

Cons: Would randomly power down, had to reboot on a regular basis.

Other Thoughts: Thanks to Newegg for the quick RMA; board #2 seems to be working just fine.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for home server

Pros: ECC RAM Support!
Legacy connectors (parallel and serial ports)
Installed and setup without any issue.

Cons: Only 2 RAM Slots. Could use a few more fan headers on motherboard

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board with an Athlon II x3 processor for a multi-core home server. What sold me was the low price, and the ability to use ECC RAM. At a price lower than most Atom boards, this combo, plus the fact that it can use ECC RAM, makes this a highly recommended choice for low-end servers. I installed a pair of WD RE4 drives for ZFS mirroring, installed TrueOS 9.1 without any issues, and it has been running rock solid for the past 4 months!

ZFS does take a lot of RAM, and if I want to increase my hard drive space much more in the future, I may need to upgrade past 8 gigabytes. Only having two slots means I would have to discard the 2x4 kit I have in there now an purchase a (for now) very expensive 2x8 kit.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS M5A78L-m THIS mother board

Pros: Works perfect, I added a radeon 6450 video card instantly to this it works great, i havent used the built in graphics card but it does have it in case this one dumps on me, but it is a msi with fan

Cons: has a 1 second small burst of sound out of the speakers when shutting down or something odd, but the built in sound card works perfect like it should

Other Thoughts: wish i had gotten a board that held more ram but you really dont need it, 8 gigs of ram is all you need

Great HYBRID board unlocked my phenom II 555 to all 4 cores this was a replacement for a bad asus board, of course i tore the old asus up by messing with it so much having fun my fault.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works great.
Solid product.

Cons: zero issues.

Other Thoughts: Plan ahead if you're like me you will want some room to grow. This MB only has room for two sticks of ram and one gpu.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Motherboard shield was a little goofy, had to bend a few of the steel separator "cushions" in order to access the ethernet port.

5 out of 5 eggsso far so goodies

Pros: purchased this board a fired right up..I managed to overclock a bit...installed FX 8core 3.1 ghz and easily o/c to 3.7 ghz just by changing the multiplier. Bios was a little different then my last Asus board, but I found what I needed.
idle 19c @ 3.7 ghz CPU

Cons: Memory slots are a little close to the CPU. I do not recommend large heat spreaders on your memory sticks as they may block the installation of an aftermarket heatsink/fan.

Other Thoughts: bios loaded I think was from April 2012 but I found a new one easily and used the built-in auto flash provided by this motherboard.
very pleased. Thanks Egg~

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Slim, simple, good value for money. It is exactly what it says on the tin, and the one I received hit the POST on a first try.

Cons: Only one PCI slot, which is a bit lacking.

5 out of 5 eggsTypical ASUS High Quality

Pros: Like clock work it posted 1st time and runs like a rocket. My external video card hasn't arrived yet and it's nice to have the on-board to knock out 98% of the build.

Cons: It's an ASUS so it's hard to complain. I guess they could have thrown memory and CPU trouble lights on the board in case someone got some DOA chips. For a package deal that got me around 50 bucks I guess they could have washed my truck as well.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Cheap board, great bios, VERY easy to overclock my graphics card and cpu with this! Small (micro derr) and is much more appropriate then my old motherboard for my case.

Probably THE best AMD, AM3+ board you can buy from this website considering the price. I would pay $100 for this.

Cons: Coming from a Gigabyte motherboard to an ASUS, had a lot of drivers to fix. Not a real biggy, just spent 30 minute fixing them all with the included cd.
