5 out of 5 eggsYear Strong

Pros: This board has been being hammered on for the last year. Pretty safe to say it will last another 10 years as my single core ASUS board did. Exceeds expectations overclocking is amazing. Way more features than I will use as I don't game.

Cons: Had a hick-up on the bios reboot like some others. I unhooked the power from the board and it reset.

5 out of 5 eggsI read before I bought

Pros: Always look at the compatibility list before buying things.

I purchased everything in one sitting and everything fits together perfectly.
-Running strong (pretty much 24/7) for a year+ now.
-Supports my 32G of ram running at 2133MHz (N82E16820231524)
-Runs and overclocks my i7 to unreal numbers (5GHz) (also thanking my cooling system) (N82E16819116492)
-Plenty of room for expansion
-Easy debugging with LED error codes
-ASUS has been my #1 supplier motherboard after two of my Gigabyte mobos have failed me

Cons: Some of the ram slots get covered by my fan. This could be my fault, but good to note.

Other Thoughts: I see so many people complaining here and I just want to clarify:

I've made the mistake of purchasing incompatible hardware so I always read every line before building a computer.
This was the first thing I purchased when creating my new build.

I haven't tried the OC Key.

1 out of 5 eggsexpensive piece of garbage

Pros: NONE

Cons: 4 returns to repairs in a year on a top the line product says it all. 5 days tried to get an RMA over the phone. Also tried the 'chat online' from ASUS page however they disconnect you over an over until you get tired.

Other Thoughts: If you don't want headaches stay away from ASUS. They has grown so much they just don't care about costumer service anymore. I will make sure NOT to buy any ASUS products in the future since they have enough costumers they don't need to take care of the old ones.

1 out of 5 eggsNot as Advertised

Pros: Great features in the BIOS.

Cons: First of all this motherboard is extremely picky when it comes to RAM. Using any other RAM then the RAM supported according to the QVL will cause you nothing but problems. Using high speed RAM that is supported according to the QVL will leave you limited to running dual channel instead of quad and will limit you capacity to only 8GB. I was unable to get any 16GB kits of quad channel RAM running at 2400mhz. I was able to get 16gb of 2400mhz running perfectly fine on my last motherboard but this one is extremely picky and for the price its not worth it. Also the specs for the PCI express slots are off and falsely advertised. Yes the slots are x16 but only run at x16 if you are only using one of the slots. Now why would I use just one video card on the motherboard in the 3rd PCI slot? Makes no sense at all. The PCI slots are: 2-way sli (x16,x16,x8,x8) 3-way sli (x16,x8,x8,x8) 4-way sli (x16,x8,x8,x8).

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this board there are plenty of other boards that have the same performance for hundreds of dollars less.

Manufacturer Response:

I am sorry that you are having issues with this motherboard. If I may, I would like to help. Please contact me through email regarding this case, and we can discuss this case further. Hopefully we can find a solution in a short period of time. 3558667.

5 out of 5 eggsReally cool

Pros: All of the features are great. I really expected a huge learning curve getting this thing going - I do not build PCs often. I really did not have the trouble I thought I would.

The BIOS adjustments were really easy - although the out of the box presets did not work at all. I am guessing these were for the old revision processors.

Spacing for all of the components and connectors is really nice. Not a single issue (except one in Cons) getting it all hooked up with cables out of the way.

Cons: The position of the EZplugs makes perfect cable routing a pain. If you had the top of your case free it might not be an issue. Not something worth removing an egg for, but I was picky in where wires show!

1 out of 5 eggsAsus Rive is it worth it? No

Pros: It has 8 memory slots, by far the best looking motherboard, and has plenty of usb 3/sate 6gbs ports.

Cons: Bios and Asus Support

Other Thoughts: I have had this motherboard for a year, the past 2 months, and its plagued with reboots and failure to boot problems, check the RoG forums about all the people have issues with there rive's and blacks, which is the only place you will actually get any tech support, you call asus and its either send it in or not no actual troubleshooting of the issues. Picking up an EVGA board hoping that the support makes up for the motherboard quality

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

I am sorry that you are having issues with the motherboard. At your earliest convenience, please contact me through email and we can discuss this caser further. Within the email, please include the serial number of the motherboard, any troubleshooting steps tried, and your computer component list. 3393713.
