5 out of 5 eggsLove ASUS

Pros: Quality board. Love the wifi so I don't have to run cables all over the place

Cons: Only comes with 2 SATA III cables and only one of those has a 90 degree connector (also has 2 SATA II)

Other Thoughts: 3rd build with similar ASUS motherboard over the last 3 years. No issues

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board, great price

Pros: great bios interface. easy to customize for high speed memory (using 2400 with no issues). plenty of room for future system expansion.

Cons: the NIC isn't fully integrated, I did a soft build outside of the case to make sure hardware components were functional prior to case build and luckily I realized the NIC required some assembly prior to mounting the board in the case.

2 out of 5 eggsNetwork Fail

Pros: Great board - for about a week.

Cons: I'm the IT manager at my factory and I've used Asus for years. I bought it in February. First, it was taking 38 seconds to wake up from sleep. It took a week of trouble shooting to find that the drives were not detecting in the BIOS. I had to swap SATA ports to get everything to detect, then sleep worked. Now the network interface is dead. No lights. No response to new drivers, uninstalling drivers, etc. Just a "This device cannot start. (Code 10)" message. I am so disappointed in Asus. This board has been out long enough that it should be bug free.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

I am sorry that you are having issues with the motherboard. When you have time, please contact me through email, and we can discuss this case further. Thank you, and have a great day. 3573489.

1 out of 5 eggsDo not pass go, go directly to NEWEGG RMA

Pros: Great advertising, lots of software features, its the express lane to the true newegg rma process and not the one of reviews

Cons: Poor build quality, DOA, open antistatic bag
On arrival I was surprised to find the bag unsealed but otherwise in good order on the top. Flipping it over there were many places that component leads had almost pushed through.

Upon opening package, solder joints appeared cold, especially in the area of all the ports. All across the board the lead lengths were untrimmed and irregular. On the heavier joints the solder was blobbed on, convex rather than concave. I've seen less critical stuff like this work but this one didn't.

Upon opening the CPU socket a dark spot, possibly a burn surrounded one of the pins. It might reveal itself upon microscopic examination to be manufacturer contamination.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this board on past reputation of both New Egg and ASUS. I found both undeserved. From my research, ASUS currently has the highest out of box rma in the field. Its about 1 in thirty or 40 according to foreign statistics. Mother boards in general have about a 1 in 20 chance of needing warranty through their lifetime.

Therefore, service of your vendor and manufacturer should be weighed very heavily in your decision. The response from ASUS has not been bad but my interfacing with them has barely begun. Troubleshooting over phone instead of chat was nice. My return process end to end will be 24 calender days. Newegg personnel have been polite.

5 out of 5 eggsASUS hits the target

Pros: Superb MB for business as well as gaming, now comes w/wireless built in to MOBO that adds even more capability to a business network. Ivy Bridge processor, Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 1600 Memory makes for a great workstation. User productivity soars.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Anything I can have in my workstations that eliminates problems and increases productivity is a very large plus on the ledger.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Motherboard

Pros: I've owned for about a year without any problems. plenty of ports and slots for a good amount of hardware, awesome bios, super easy to overclock cpu and memory with the automatic overclock feature, onboard sound is decent, everything works as it should. I'd recommend this motherboard.

Cons: I was not a fan of the wireless card. It performed great but was not an integrated piece of the motherboard. I forgot to install it the first time and had to completely remove the board. Also the wireless antenna protrudes from the case and I caught it on something while handling the case (my fault). That broke the antenna and I had to buy a replacement.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard

Pros: This motherboard has awesome features and the wireless adapter works wonderfully. You install the wireless adapter onto the board by screwing it in next to the USB ports, and then you connect an antenna (which is included) to that connection. The antenna is about 3-4 feet long and magnetic, so if theres a metallic surface you can stick it sideways, upside down, however you'd like. The WiFi GO! allows you to use the antenna as an access point, so if you need other devices to connect wirelessly, they can connect to that. The Fan Xpert is great at monitoring your chassis and cpu fans and customizing their settings. The Auto Tuning for overclocking works wonderfully, so if you're new to overclocking the software will do it for you (you have options of Fast and Extreme) and it does it well. It's a great way to learn and familiarize oneself with overclocking so you can eventually to it manually for better precision and customization. So many other neat features are in this MB. Highly recommended.

Cons: Some software is a bit useless, such as the Virtu MVP (uses both graphics card integrated graphics). It makes games stutter more and the performance boost is almost nil. Installing the software isn't mandatory, so you can just uninstall anything you don't need or like.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: looks pretty, UEFI is nice.

Cons: Logged back in to write a review. Everything seemed awesome at first and then out of no where the audio stops working. Terrible growling noise from the speakers and it keeps telling me i've plugged/unbplugged a headset. I've tried the speakers in other machines, formatted and reinstalled the OS after trying all sorts of different drivers. Nothing is getting the onboard audio working again.

Getting a soundcard as I can't be without a board for as long as the RMA process would most likely take.

Other Thoughts: I've used Asus forever. Really bummed about this one failing.

Manufacturer Response:

Greetings,

If you tried installing the latest drivers and the issue persists, there is a high likelyhood the motherboard is defective and would need to be sent in for a RMA. Should you require assistance in this matter, please do not hesitate to email me. 3559045.

5 out of 5 eggsRescued Build

Pros: Many SATA ports, USB 3.0, memory capacity, stability

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was working my first build from scratch with an online auction Intel board that had BIOS upgrade issues and was not stable. I replaced it with the ASUS P8Z77-V PRO keeping all the other components. BANG! it was up and running Windows 8.1 with a Hyper-V Fedora 20 VM. That's how builds are supposed to go!
