1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy This!

Pros: Nothing is pro about the product I received.

Cons: This product came damaged. Three of the pins were completely broken when we got it, and we did nothing that would cause damage to the motherboard. If you buy this product, be prepared to have to send it in to Asus and pay an extra 130 dollars just to get it repaired and sent back to you. They don't cover damages on their motherboards. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT

Other Thoughts: I will be looking for a motherboard that will work with my computer parts from another brand now. I refuse to pay to fix a product that should have been in tact when I received it.

1 out of 5 eggsDamaged on Arrival

Pros: Seemed like a nice board.

Cons: Box and antistatic bag arrived opened and the board had a damaged USB 3 header and CPU pin.

Other Thoughts: After hours on the phone, Newegg won't repair the board because they believe I damaged it when it arrived like this. Asus and even my accidental damage warranty won't cover this because it arrived damaged.

You're out of luck if you happened to receive a damaged unit.

3 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Work(ed)s as advertised

Cons: Died after a bit more than a year
Onboard Wi-fi marginal, antenna too short

Other Thoughts: At this point in the game if you are looking for an 1155 board, you are desperate or silly. Everyone with a brain is on 1150. That being said if you HAVE to get an 1155 board, and wifi is NOT a selling point (or you are going to be right next to the router) then this likely IS the board for you. It configures and runs easily, just a great board for 'working', until it doesn't.

I have owned, and do PROUDLY own a LOT of ASUS products. That being said, this is the first 'real' ASUS failure I have EVER had. Was working on the PC all morning, stepped out for a few minutes on a bright, sunny day, and when I came back it was like it was hibernating, but never work up. I never saw the Asus logo from this motherboard again. I have since, swapped everything out, and the CPU, RAM, and other devices are fine on another ASUS board.

5 out of 5 eggsSmoothest install yet.

Pros: This motherboard allowed the smoothest, easiest computer build. ASUS has addressed probably the most frustrating part of the task (plugging in front-port connections) with a stand-off to allow you to actually see where pins are going before connecting them in a unit into the motherboard. Love it. All software installed without any issues. There is some bloatware that comes with the motherboard install disc, but it allows you to install only the core components separately. Great job, ASUS!

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I have been building computers for 15 years. This was the easiest that I have ever done, largely because of the motherboard. I am using a Core i5 with on-board Intel video and a 4TB SATA HD for use as a data storage / media center. It fits this need perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus a trusted brand ...

Pros: High quality build and build to last more than 5 years (I have P5Q8 Pro Q6600 oc 3.3Ghz, 8GB RAM, it continues running nowadays without a hiccup...!)
Stay with the brand you have best experience with... ,

Cons: Package accessories is little cheap although the motherboard is not really cheap one...could include something better worth - for example thermal compound.

Other Thoughts: All everything you need is already included on the board.
Let I tell you my story,, a story of switching the brand a brand which it was proven by P5Q8Pro working no problem last 5 year and continue working as of now..

Now I went back to Asus and never look other brand at was a painful experience but luckily I had Accidental Damage Insurance with the replacement was no pain at all..DO NOT SWITCH BRAND if you already know it work for you!!

,I was switching to ASROCK when building LGA1155, ASROCK Professional Fatality ...whatever ASROCK...after a year the motherboard started weird, post ran OK but kept hanging during the initial boot after a few restart and it was ok...NO GOOD ASROCK! 2 weeks later it went dead completely!

3 out of 5 eggsUSB connectivity issues - otherwise great board

Pros: Aside from this issue, the board has performed well.

Cons: Somewhat outdated USB drivers on the ASUS site (2012)

Other Thoughts: This board has been great for the last year, aside from the USB connections on the rear of the board having connectivity issues. The front connectors on my case, that are linked to the board, run my keyboard and mouse just fine. If I connect to USB rear connectors, however, constant disconnect/reconnect occurs.

I have flashed to the BIOS revision 2104 and installed the latest USB drivers ( and chipset drivers ( available on the ASUS website.

The problem persists and is apparently a thing with this series. A quick Google search for "ASUS P8Z77-V usb issues" (no quotes) will return a large amount of results.

5 out of 5 eggsGaming PC

Pros: Typical Install. Everything went smoothly. Lots of configuration options and overclocking ability. When I build my rigs, I plan to have them last 4-5 years. Overclocking software works great and easy to use.

Cons: The only thing is that I wish you did not have put a screw in from the bottom of the motherboard for the wifi adapter. Putting in the wifi adapter was an after thought for me since I run hard lined. I would have to uninstall almost everything in my case just to get the motherboard out to secure the adapter down.

Other Thoughts: Great board for people who do not want to pay the pretty penny for a Haswell setup. Pair this up with low latency ram and a decent i5 proc or better and a pair of solid states and you will have a screamer. Very impressed with the performance out of the gate with no overclocking.
