5 out of 5 eggsBUY IT

Pros: This MOBO has everything you NEED. Surely there are others that have all these features but before you purchase a MOBO, ask yourself if you actually need or want them. ASUS, is amazing. GIGA lan port, USB3's and tons of fan chassis. Great MOBO if you plan on overclocking as well.

Cons: the wi fi feature only supports a single channel 2.4ghz. * although if you plan on running hard line, this shouldn't matter.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard.

Pros: Super easy to install. ALL the bells and whistles you could imagine. Looks great, Runs great and overall, IS great.

Cons: The backing for the motherboard has a foamy cushion to it which is amazing cause its soft. however it needed to be compressed a bit so I could get the Screws for my mobo to sit properly into the Spacers.

Other Thoughts: Initially All my ram cards wouldnt work with the mobo. I pulled 1 out so 24gb ram (instead of 32gb.) System booted great. Ran Bios and Installed os. Overclocked the allowed power consumption for the Ram cards. Rebooted w/ all 4 cards RAN great first try.

5 out of 5 eggsBreeze to install

Pros: - Did what I wanted and expected out of the box.
- Win7 install to desktop under 10 minutes.
- Lots of features, connectivity, UEFI BIOS.

Cons: - Little pricey. In hindsight, probably could have gotten a similar quality board for $20 less without some of the features I probably won't use. Not regretting this purchase at all though.

Other Thoughts: i3770K
Intel 335 SSD
G.SKILL Ripjaws 2x8GB
GTX 460
Win7

I have nothing to complain. Although I really haven't tested it's capabilities and limits yet (no OC'ing yet), so far it's flawless in what I want it to do in terms of basic BIOS setting and adding peripherals. The UEFI BIOS is nicely implemented. Not using ANY of the ASUS software as I find it useless.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome new pc

Pros: First off thanks Newegg got everything within a few days. The MB is awesome no problems what so ever. so many options i'am still playing around with them, I have never had a bent pin on the MB or the CPU maybe just luck. I have built a lot of pc's all with parts from Newegg. loaded Win8 in under 10 min.

Cons: My only con would be the I/O shield poor quality for a board of this caliper.

Other Thoughts: The board is well layed out,The manual is very good and helpful. here is a list of what I built

Asus p8z77 LGA
Asus DVD burner

5 out of 5 eggsNot disappointed

Pros: Awesome board with lots of features and extras, a must have for anyone that has the spare funds to afford it. Comes with three separate manuals for the board itself and some of the features. The manual for the board itself is huge and covers so much, something that is lacking in a lot of hardware manufacturers.

Cons: Not really a con, but the SATA ports are facing forward instead of up, the cable is flexible enough to bend, but just plan ahead because it can get kind of cramped for space at that angle.

Other Thoughts: Not sure if I'll make use of everything this is capable of, but what sold me was the Wi-Fi Go, a card you install instead of a PCI card or a USB card. I like knowing that I'm getting the most out of my Wi-Fi. I've yet to install my new SSD with Win7, I'm currently running XP on a 1.5TB, 7500rpm HDD with an new i5 3570k and 8gigs of pc1600 G.Skill Ripjaws (only 4 right now since it's only XP). BIOS is fully modernized with a GUI interface and mouse support, it makes it easier to go through settings and gives you options for how you want your system to run, normal, power saving and performance. Awesome board and worth every dollar!

2 out of 5 eggsVery Confused

Pros: The feature set seems good. It has the things I wanted (USB 3, SATA 6)

Cons: Seems to be self-destructing. It ran windows 8 preview fine for 7 months. Then RTM ok for a few months, then one day bam, reboot loops. I went back to windows 7. Then bam, reboot loops. Back to win 8 - ok for a day or two - now sometimes will not even get a bios screen, but if it can, reboot loops. Terribly inconsistent boot behavior. Even during an install.
Looks like this is not an uncommon theme with this board.

Other Thoughts: Not sure what to do. Is it a bad CPU ... motherboard .... disk (SSD) virus? So, I went to find what the current high end is - looks like this is still it :(

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you are getting these reboot loops. Have you tried going into the bios and under the advanced configurations you change the SATA mode to AHCI or IDE vice versa for a try. I had this issue and this is all my colleague did to stop the reboot loop.

5 out of 5 eggsGood company, Wifi works well

Pros: Asus is reliable, wifi is nice to have on board, lots of USB ports

Cons: I have a USB headset that has distortion every 10 seconds if plugged into the top-right usb port. Currently using a different USB port with no issues. Other devices work fine in the port

Other Thoughts: Would be nice if I got a motherboard with Bluetooth as well

1 out of 5 eggspoor quality

Pros: pretty nice looking, good fetures (fan controls, temp sensors), pretty stable OC,

Cons: poor quality, got 2 bad mobos, first one: the heatsink is almost falling off. Second one: the USB 3.0 port was damaged.

Other Thoughts: Got full refund from Newegg, thank Newegg, I don't want to get another replacement that will result a overheat or other issue.
I don't recommend this Mobo, rather pay another 30 bucks to get the PRO one

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board

Pros: After reading all of the reviews on Newegg and another retailer (that mostly sells books) I decided to take a chance, treat the board right and see what happens. Everything worked as expected, I didn't even have to update the bios or put the install CD in! I was worried because the RAM I had was quad channel ARES 32G that I had bought for a LG2011 system and couldn't find anyone that had used it, but after setting the speed to 1866 it worked just fine. I overclocked the 3770K to 4.3GHz and with a Corsair H55 and my temps idle at 30C. I would not hesitate to buy this board again, just make sure to use proper ESD and treat the socket pins with care!

Cons: I wish it had one more USB 3.0 header on the board.

Other Thoughts: Asus P8Z77-V

Gigabyte 660

1 out of 5 eggsSwitching Manufacturers

Pros: Great in the short time it lasted. Packed with a lot of high-end features for being under 200 clams. Also a great over-clocker.

Cons: Random, unreproducible BSOD's and freezes. Occasionally won't recognize the video cards but will still boot. The board will sometimes revert my EUFI settings back to my default settings for no apparent reason.

Other Thoughts: I really liked this board when I first purchased it. It almost seemed to good to be true and guess what...IT WAS!

A few weeks after building my system the board wouldn't recognize my video cards. It wasn't all that frequent and I couldn't reproduce the error so I figured that it was just due for an update. Over time this problem occurred more and more. Sometimes I would have to reset up to 10 times. I later figured out that it was because of ASUS's "Fast Boot" technology which is set as default for some odd reason. However, occasionally the board likes reseting EUFI which subsequently restores "Fast Boot" which in turn causes the board to not recognize my video cards.

In the last 3 months or so the MB has completely turned on me. It randomly freezes and randomly BSODs. At first I thought it was because of the OC on my 2600k so I started tweaking the voltages. I would stress the CPU with Prime and Burn Test for hours on end and it would pass with no issues. It only seems to BOSD and freeze while I'm gaming or doing random tasks. I've updated the firmware multiple times. I'm really just sick of it at this point.

I don't even bother calling ASUS tech support anymore. 95% the time I call them I feel like I am more knowledgeable than the tech and I'm not trying to be arrogant, I'm sure many feel the same way.

I would rather just give my money to another manufacturer. I mean who can really afford to have weeks of downtime so that ASUS can send me back the same broken motherboard.

If you are reading this ASUS, we don't want our boards repaired, we want new ones. You sold us a bad product, we don't want it back with some scotch tape on it. Stand behind your products and warrantee.

Asus's products have been on a steady decline these past few years and I am moving on. Good riddance.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Sorry to hear that you are having issues with your MB getting the BSOD. Have you already tried updating the drivers for your graphic card that you are using.

Can you try using the onboard graphic to see if you also get BSOD. If you are still having the issue, then you will have to send the unit in for service.

Do you also get the BSOD when you don't overclock and drop your memory speed down to 1333.

Can you please tell me the specs of your build.
