TUF stands for The Ultimate Force. The TUF series delivers a “tough” image. With the unique design & high quality components (military-standard), TUF series is born for pursuing the preeminent stability, all-round compatibility, and extreme durability.

Start from the ultimate cooling solution, which combines TUF Thermal Armor for total airflow-boosting heat dissipation, and TUF Thermal Radar for real time temp detection and heat removal. The military-standard TUF Components, such as Choke, Cap. and MOSFET, enable rock solid stability even under tough duty or severe environments. New DIGI+ Power Control presents an all-new precise digital power control for CPU, iGPU and DRAM for better efficiency and overclocking margin. More features like UEFI BIOS for full-scale performance tuning with easy BIOS Interface, USB 3.0 Boost technology, network iControl for real-time bandwidth control and USB BIOS Flashback for easy, worry-free BIOS update or recovery guarantee an incredible performance, easy functionality tweaking and effortless system maintenance. The LucidLogix Virtu MVP enables up to 60% hybrid graphics boost while the SLI and CrossFireX support in combination with the PCIe 3.0 capabilities push the graphics performance to a new level to bring you a brand new gaming experience.

  • newegg "Ultimate COOL!" Thermal Solution New generation Thermal Armor boosts cooling with dual turbo fans, enhancing the original TUF thermal design and helping direct hot air away from components and the motherboard via smart shunt funneling. It covers the entire board with more powerful airflow, and uses special heat pipes to expedite thermal removal and make sure temperatures stay low. The dedicated I/O cover fan draws additional cold air in and expels even more heat for improved stability, plus special convection holes in the PCB facilitates underside airflow. Thermal Radar monitors temperatures in critical parts of the board, automatically adjusting fan speeds for better system stability. Fan Overtime keeps fans working in critical minutes post shutdown to extend component lifespan, dropping temperatures by 7?C in just ten minutes after the computer turns off. New Fan Off consists of a switch that disables fans should temperatures drop below a manually or automatically set level for effective power consumption.
  • newegg TUF Components (Choke, Cap. & MOSFET; Certified by Military-standard) Get rugged performance even in the most challenging conditions with robust TUF chokes, solid capacitors, and MOSFETs--certified through third-party, military-grade testing. TUF Chokes, also known as the “Alloy Choke”, is a made of a compound of various types of metal instead standard iron, enables the support of up to a massive 40A of rated current, 25% higher than conventional component. Furthermore, the single piece packaging also eliminates the emission of vibration noise, delivering superb characteristics as well as durability under extreme conditions.
  • newegg New DIGI+ Power Control New DIGI+ Power Control includes multiple digital voltage controllers, allowing ultra-precise modulation and tuning for CPU, iGPU, and DRAM. This innovative and industry-leading ASUS technology provides an extremely accurate voltage tuning for better efficiency, stability, and performance. With the next generation Intel VRD 12.5 future power design, CPU wattage can be decreased by half, creating a cooler and quieter PC. This innovation of industry-leading ASUS technology provides the smartest control for better power saving scenarios.
  • newegg LucidLogix Virtu MVP LucidLogix Virtu MVP featuring HyperFormance Technology boosts your discrete graphics card up to 60% beyond its original performance through the test of 3DMark Vantage. Designed for Intel processor graphics and Windows 7 PCs, it perfectly combines the performance of discrete graphics cards with fast computing iGPU. Also with the newly designed Virtual Sync, users can enjoy a smoother gaming experience by eliminating tearing artifacts. LucidLogix Virtu MVP could also dynamically assign tasks to the best available graphics resource, based on power, performance and system load. This allows users to fully utilize 3x faster video conversion with Intel Quick Sync Video technology while retaining high-end 3D rendering and gaming performance, provided by both NVIDIA and AMD graphic cards. When the discrete graphics card is not required, power consumption goes automatically down to near zero, making the system more environmentally-friendly.
  • newegg Intel Smart Response Technology Intel Smart Response Technology boosts overall system performance. It uses an installed fast SSD (min 18.6GB available capacity required) as a cache for frequently accessed data. Key benefits include reduced load and wait times, and lower power consumption through the elimination of unnecessary hard drive spin. This technology combines SSD performance with hard drive capacity, operating up to 6X faster than a hard drive-only system.
  • newegg SLI and CrossFireX Support SABERTOOTH Z77 brings you the multi-GPU choice of either SLI or CrossFireX. 1 out of 5 eggsTo much hassle

Pros: Powerful board, looks beautiful

Cons: Shipped with bent pins, motherboard doesn't send power to my tower.

Other Thoughts: Bought this board with a i7 3770k thinking it would be great. Well when I got it i had quite a few pins bent, on top of that the board won't send out power to my computer tower. So now I have to pay 125 to asus to have them fix the pins, then I have to send it back for an RMA for a faulty board. Will be looking for a new supplier for motherboards in the future

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: Looks good out of the box

Cons: Doesn't work

Other Thoughts: Dead on arrival. Used this for my first build and after a few hours of headache figured what was wrong.

1 out of 5 eggsASUS Non-QA

Pros: None. Never got to try it

Cons: ASUS includes two fans in the package. Maybe they're supposed to be different sizes, but both fans were too small to install in the I/O location. Had to immediately return this un-useable MB, Huge waste of my time. This is now the fifth ASUS MB I've purchased and all 5 have been returned almost immediately.

5 out of 5 eggsCompletely Innovative

Pros: This board is almost entirely cased in by a cool looking cover! Makes handling the MOBO safer, makes the inside of the machine look AWESOME.

Performance wise, this thing boots in a snap, has a modern bios with a GUI that supports the mouse.

Works well with water cooling.

Cons: DON'T BEND THE PINS!!! BE CAREFUL!! DON'T TOUCH THEM!

Mine came with a bent pin, almost certain disaster, but I managed to bend it back into place and everything runs GREAT!

Other Thoughts: I built a rig with the Z77, Core i7 3770k, EVGA GTX 470 FTW, 32GB of G.SKILL ram, Samsung SSD, WD HDD, it all runs great together.

5 out of 5 eggsDOA, but second received worked great

Pros: Great design
Works as intended
Thermal armor
Stays very cool

Cons: First MB received was dead on arrival, unfortunately. However, I still decided to give this product 5 stars as the product (when working) works as well as it should. Service was easy. Returned it easily and got another only a little over a week later. Definitely use RMA through Newegg's website, as ASUS's website is extremely difficult to navigate.

No cons with the physical board really, other than the thermal armor can sometimes get in the way. Ignore all the hate reviews as they're probably just frustrated with a DOA motherboard or killed the board themselves.

4 out of 5 eggsVery nice Motherboard

Pros: - Feature rich with a SotA BIOS
- Nice software overclocking options
- Runs really cool
- Nice layout and placement of connectors
- Decent manual and very nice packaging
- Excellent performance and works well with Crossfire

Cons: - too many features
- cost
- Loads of bloatware in the included software...you need to choose what you want.
- Lucid Logix Virtu is useless.
- Network iControl - killed my local network speeds until I disabled it.
- BIOS needed to be reset for the board to start acting normal...there's a button to press in the back panel to reset the CMOS. This is nice...but initial bootup was highly problematic until I did this. (System did not post...eventhough everything was correctly hooked up)
- Issues with S3 Sleep..machine will not properly enter sleep, fans will keep spinning etc.

Other Thoughts: This was part of an expensive build where I didn't spare much expense. I got a really nice machine out of it, but one that wasn't without problems. I guess that's part of the fun though, right?

This system currently has an issue where it will sometimes completely fail to detect one of my hard drives. The problem is fixed by restarting until the board sees it.

There are also issues with S3 which have never been fully resolved (using Win7 Ult x64). My answer has been to just shut down the machine.
