1 out of 5 eggsIncompatible Memory

Pros: Cheap

Cons: The memory supported list doesn't support many of the common memory modules on the market, make sure you check the list before buying RAM for this mobo.

1 out of 5 eggsQualified Memory list not very long

Pros: Nice Price

Cons: Qualified memory list is so short that it is very hard to find approved memory for sale. It is even worse when you are trying to find 32GB with low latency. I can't find anything that is for sale and on the short Qualified Memory List for this motherboard

Other Thoughts: If you can't find memory for a motherboard it becomes useless.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

If the memory isn't listed in our QVL you can try another memory kit. You can look at the manufacture website and put what motherboard you are using and will provide you with a list of recommended RAM kits.

We recommend using RAM with lower latency as it's more stable with our boards.

Please provide me with the kit you are planning to purchase so I can see if you can use that one or an alternative.

If you have any questions or comments you can email me again at cl-jeffrey@asus.com which I reside in the U.S

ASUS strives to meet and exceeds our customer expectations within our warranty policy.

Regards,

Jeffrey

3 out of 5 eggsDecent buy

Pros: what you expect out of a motherboard other than its simple to connect everything.

Cons: Problem with the board, after a year of having it. i wanted to purchase a sound card to go with my surround sound system. the PCI slot is near the PCI 3.0 ( i have a 560 ti fermi overclocked) which the sound card partially covers up the fan of the GPU. I had graphic issue since then. i might need to upgrade to a new one that has space between the two slots. other than that an amazing MB.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your feedback regarding this motherboard. If you are considering adding a discrete sound card to your system, please have a look at our Essence, Gaming and Entertainment sound card solutions, which are availabing using the PCIe and USB interface: https://www.asus.com/Sound_Cards_and_DigitaltoAnalog_Converters/. PCIe x1 cards can be installed in the black PCIe x4 slot. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me below. Thank you.

3 out of 5 eggsWAS good, going down fast ...

Pros: Flawless instal, easy to go with, good for amateur gaming or pc use.

Cons: Going down fast, losing USB response more and more frequently, did everything and its really the motherboard's prob.

sata3 is not a good choice, go sata6

Other Thoughts: sadly, will need a better one fast now, not reliable, surprised because i WAS with ASUS since the dawn of ages .... maybe will look around now.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your feedback on this motherboard. Can you tell me more about the issue with the USB ports? What devices do you have plugged in to these ports? Is the issue intermittent or does it happen only when performing a specific task?

The Intel H77 chipset on this motherboard features both SATA III 6Gb/s and SATA II 3Gb/s ports (http://www.asus.com/Motherboard/P8H77M/#specifications).

To continue support, please contact me at cl-benson@asus.com (reference #C1037-8909 in the subject line) with a description of the issue. Thank you.

1 out of 5 eggsRMA Story, Part 2

Pros: None

Cons: Motherboard worked for less than a month upon new PC assembly. PC was just under $2,000, I built it in mid August, motherboard died first week of September, ASUS Blu Ray Burner died first couple of days, and it is still not functioning as of today because of HORRIBLE Customer Service from this business. My initial RMA request was submitted on the 14th of October, first response took 2-3 days, and only told me the serial number was wrong, as the number I gave them was taken off the motherboard itself, and not the actual box, which was at my mother's house while I assembled and had to disassemble my entire machine, wires and all, at my father's. Replied with all the correct information about a week ago, still have not received any feedback, most likely on purpose, so as the warranty period dwindles away and expires before they have to actually own up to selling faulty merchandise. Terrible company all around with quality of products and service, will not be buying ASUS again; I encourage anyone reading this to do the same.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about your experience with RMA.

To locate your mtoherboard's serial number, please visit http://www.service.asus.com/warranty.aspx#!Motherboard Serial/cqt6. For the P8H77-M/CSM, the third digit of the serial number should be the letter "M". It can be found on the box and also on a motherboard label. Please contact me at cl-benson@asus.com so that I can assist you with your RMA. Reference #C1037-5400 in the subject line for faster reply.

CSM models (stands Corporate Stable Models) such as the P8H77-M/CSM qualify for cross-ship replacement within 1st year of ownership (http://www.service.asus.com/commercial/infopage.aspx?rid=9#!csm/c1ys) and come with 3 years of warranty (http://www.service.asus.com/commercial/infopage.aspx?rid=9#!Motherboard Warranty/c1c20).

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of Time

Pros: Low Cost, Easy Setup

Cons: Dead on Arrival w/ Bent CPU Pins
No Post

Other Thoughts: Would like replacement, but against Newegg's return policy.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear about the damaged socket pins you had with the motherboard.

Unfortunately, damaged socket pins are not covered under warranty as it is considered customer-induced damage. 1 out of 5 eggsRam Slots Dead

Pros: None

Cons: DoA

Went through basic install, never posted. The MemOk button and light didn't work. Bought this with an I5 2500k and 8GB Corsaire Vengence. CPU and Ram work in another rig so I know it was the board.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you had with the motherboard.

If you're having trouble getting to POST, please try the following:

Please make sure to check the power connections, specifically the 24-pin and 8-pin/4-pin. Do you see standby LED? Do the fans spin at power on? Have you tried using another power supply?

Also, make sure the Clear_CMOS jumper is inserted in positions 1 and 2. If the jumper is missing or in another position, the motherboard may not power on.

Some memory kits are not compatible with the motherboard. To ensure that memory will work with the motherboard, please try to obtain memory from our Qualified Vendors List (QVL). Also, try pressing the MemOK! button after you power on the system to load the default fail-safe settings of the memory. Your system may cycle several times during this process.

Try to plugging a system speaker to the 4-pin speaker connector (lower right corner) and monitor if any beeps that occur when you turn on the computer.

1 long beep and 2 short beeps = memory
1 long beep and 3 short beeps = VGA
1 long beep and 4 short beeps = hardware component

If you still having trouble getting the motherboard to POST, please contact me at cl-benson@asus.com. Reference #C1037-4958 in email subject line.

5 out of 5 eggsAbsolutely gorgeous!!

Pros: Automatically detects everything. No jumpers to set, no bios settings to wander through. Just use the slick install disk (which has the mouse enabled, no less), and smile.

Cons: Doesn't make toast or scrambled eggs.

Other Thoughts: It's been over five years since I built a PC, and I can't believe how easy it is now. All the junk I had to set up on the last board is now done automatically.

This thing is smooth and sweet. Asus won my heart with this one.
