1 out of 5 eggsDOA.

Pros: It makes a nice decoration.

Cons: Was working on my first build, super excited that I got everything hooked up, finally went to power it up and. . . nothing. It tried to start, less than a second later, shut off again. Rinse, repeat. Double checked all the components in another working computer, everything worked, except for the motherboard. What wonderful luck that was. Tried to RMA it, but failed to include the stupid IO shield, so it got kicked back. By the time I was able to get home and send the piece back (I'm at college 200 miles from home, so it's not so easy), the pieces passed each other in transit. RMA got canceled, piece arrived the next day. I realize that was my fault for not including the shield, but I failed to realize that it even went with the motherboard, which was a stupid mistake. Either way, I now have a nice decoration, or target practice. Bought a completely different motherboard, and it works fine.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus P8-z77-v LK

Pros: Has everything i need. It fired up out of the box with no issues. I was worried about purchasing this Motherboard after reading alot of reviews of faliures but i havent had a problem with Asus in the past. Very happy!

Cons: Ethernet port doesnt seem to be working but it might just be my fault. I have a Usb wireless adapter i can use so its no problem.

2 out of 5 eggsNot very lucky

Pros: Good features, when you get one that works.

Cons: Have to RMA the board again. Will no longer post. Also, if you use an OEM CPU cooler it may overlap the first RAM slot. As of now I have not had good luck with this board, But I'm hoping the third times the charm.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS BOARD!

Pros: The features of the board and the price were the only Pros.

Cons: Dead Board.

Other Thoughts: I ordered this board because the ASROCK Z77 EXTREME 4 mobo I wanted was out of stock. I should have just waited.
When I received the board I did the usual inspection of solders and connections, but I failed to check one thing (I'll get to that in a moment). Upon installation completion and I did like all of us did and hit the power button with a bit of excitement for that first power up. The lights came on and then shut off and Nothing....
I checked and rechecked connections, made sure I wasn't grounding out anywhere, swapped the power supply and still it would not fire up so I submitted for an RMA.
After the RMA department received the mobo I was informed my return was declined due to "End User Damage" This is where the one thing I failed to check bit me in the but. The CPU connections pins were bent. So it had come from ASUS that way. So I'm out the money because the paper weight is being shipped back to me, but I've learned a lesson I'm more than willing to share. When you get a new mobo go over it with a fine tooth comb and if you find something wrong take pictures to submit with your RMA if that is the rout you have to take.
Regardless ASUS products are off my shopping list in the future.

1 out of 5 eggsDead

Pros: Love all the features of this board, the reviews helped me to choose this board as the AsRock board I wanted was and still out of stock.

Cons: After I got all the parts for this build and put the computer together, I hit the power button and nothing. I swapped out the power, checked to make sure it wasn't grounding out, checked all the wiring and NADA.

Other Thoughts: I'm currently in the process of doing an RMA. I will update this post accordingly after I get the new board and get it re-installed.
As a personal note, I would have preferred getting the same AsRock board as I have in my current rig. Sorry ASUS.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY THIS BOARD

Pros: The paper specs of this board are fine. Too bad none of it holds up in practice.

Cons: 3000 characters isn't enough to list all the cons with this board.

The main issue I have with it is that the CPU power supply circuity is terrible. Voltage regulation to the CPU is non existant, with wild voltage swings no matter how the LLC is set. This leads to major problems with overclocking. There is also clearly some fault in the motherboard as the OS will randomly freeze. This happens even at stock clocks. I can transfer all the components to another board with the exact same configuration and OS image and not have this problem. I have a feeling it's probably related to the CPU power circuitry.

I also hate that the BIOS does not let you set less than a 60% duty cycle for the fan headers.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board to replace a rather cheap Gigabyte Z68 board that had served me well for years but the sound jacks had failed. I expected that buying this supposedly superior board would yield at least equivalent results. However, in all cases performance is down, especially when you factor in the sacrifices to overclocking I have to make to deal with the abysmal CPU power circuitry.

I haven't bought any Asus products for years because I feel they are overpriced garbage, with only the very top end of their product line offering acceptable features and build quality (and a stupidly high price to match). The terrible hardware quality of this board just reinforces my belief and I'm not apt to buy an Asus product ever again.

4 out of 5 eggsHad to take a star away

Pros: Still a great board.

Cons: I still love this motherboard but about 9 months after I got it the on-board audio started having a loud buzzing noise. Also one of the hard drive slots and a couple USB ports went out.

Other Thoughts: Can not complain

5 out of 5 eggsUsing it right now

Pros: Easy install for a first time pc builder
UEFI BIOS

Cons: Only two SATA II Cables
I couldn't get the wifi to work

Other Thoughts: I still give it five eggs because I am pretty sure the wifi problem is on me and I have a cat5 cable handy. Otherwise I do enjoy this board as it doesn't have flashing lights or bells and whistles to cover up a cruddy board. This is a budget board and it knows it, so in my opinion, this is a great budget board for a beginner like myself.

5 out of 5 eggsP8Z77-V LK

Pros: Great Board, No issues installing or connecting things. This was my first build and I am glad I went with ASUS. The Blue colors were a nice touch. Was able to overclock 3570k to 4.3Ghz easily.

Cons: No wifi, Not as many heatsinks on VRMS as other P8Z77-V boards, apparently PCB is not as thick as Gigabyte. Had difficulty installing board to IO panel, though this could be due to my inexperience.

Other Thoughts: For the price I paid, couldnt be any better. All the cons were not surprises, and might not even be that much of a con.
