3 out of 5 eggsUpdate

Pros: Great board at first, still working for me...

Cons: Problematic. After about 6 months the on-board audio started acting up and making noise in my 7.1 system, I tried fresh O.S. reload, updates, etc.. My old 7.1 card fixed the problem but did not offer speaker fill (which was not an issue with XP when I got the card). Long story short I had to buy a new sound card, a couple of the usb ports on the motherboard do not work now, It is still working for me but it causes headaches from time to time.

Other Thoughts: Hard to find a new 1155 MB that will fit my needs now but I will stick with this one until I want to upgrade my I5.

1 out of 5 eggs2 defected motherboard in a row.

Pros: did nott have a chance to try this motherboard, item is defected.

Cons: did not have any chance to use this product. the first motherboard i received is defected, i can't boot up the motherboard, those tiny pin in the CPU socket is damaged and i can clearly notice it. my CPU is i5 2500K LGA 1155 so i am sure my CPU should be match with the motherboard. everything works fine when i switch back to my old motherboard. unfortunately somehow there is no refund option available for this item. it is so ridiculous! therefore i return the item for replacement. few weeks after, i received my 2nd new motherboard of the same model. then again, this 2nd motherboard is a defected item too!! the LED light on the board is on, CPU fan was spinning, but there is no video signal to the monitor. and when i put my finger to the CPU, the CPU is cool, and i don't feel any heat from it. i even replace a new I5 cpu to try if this motherboard could work, but unfortunately the problem still exist.

Other Thoughts: i gave up. this motherboard cost me $129.99 USD, and have no refund. how ridiculous was that? i already give it a try, to spend $15 shipping myself to send it back for a replacement, but i got another defected one? ASUS you make me so disappointed!! I used to be a ASUS fan, and consider your item is super reliable. but after this time, hmmmm i should change my mind and look for another better manufacturer.

1 out of 5 eggsDead on arrival and terrible support

Pros: none that I can find really

Cons: wireless is dead, ethernet jack is dead, support number was no help whatsoever

Other Thoughts: I thought it was working fine out first, but I realized that I wasn't getting the download or upload speed that I should have been getting. I was using a wireless connection, so my first thought was to change my wireless card, then I tried reinstalling the OS, I tried a different network, and I couldn't get more than about 7mbps down. I finally tried moving it to where it would reach a hard connection and the ethernet jack didn't work at all. This all took just too long for me to return it to newegg, but it was still under warranty with Asus, so I called the support number. I explained the problem and they told me to get the serial number and call back-- I called back and waited on hold for 20 minutes before they're phones hung up on me. I called again and waited for another 20 minutes and got the same result. Finally, I found a form to fill out and submit on their website, so I filled that out and they sent me a confirmation. It's now been two weeks since I heard anything from them and I'm really getting frustrated.

TL; DR: the product was never working properly, and I didn't realize it until too late to return and Asus's customer service is absolute garbage.

1 out of 5 eggsMotherboard dies after 2 months

Pros: The board ran fine and did everything I wanted, but only for two months.

Cons: Board stopped working after two months. A couple weeks ago I turned off my computer before going to bed, the next morning the board would not power back on.

Got an RMA number from ASUS and shipped it back. Now they are trying to charge me 130.00 plus 10.00 shipping to fix the board. claiming it was from bent CPU pins.

When I shipped the board out to them there were no bent CPU pins on the board.

The board ran fine with the cpu in for two months. It stopped working after I turned the power off on the computer and would not power back up the next morning. I packaged the board and shipped it back in the manor that the ASUS technical service rep instructed me over the phone. When I removed the processor I inspected the socket before replacing the socket's plastic protective cap and at that time there were no bent pins. I then, as instructed by ASUS's service rep placed the board in an anti static bag and wrapped the board in bubble wrap and packaged and shipped it to them. ASUS's service rep. said not to ship it back in the original box but to ship it in this manor even though I still had the original box.

I have been using ASUS boards for all my computer builds for the last 10 years. Now I may have to think about using some other brand in the future.

My computer has been down for over 2 weeks due to this situation.

Their email to me said if I don't pay them the 130.00 by October 11th that they would not fix the board. What good is the 3 year Warranty they claim to have?

Other Thoughts: Can't even get a phone number to contact the RMA return department at ASUS. Contacted the technical service department and they said that the only way to contact them was by email and that technical support could not help me with this matter.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA.

Pros: It makes a nice decoration.

Cons: Was working on my first build, super excited that I got everything hooked up, finally went to power it up and. . . nothing. It tried to start, less than a second later, shut off again. Rinse, repeat. Double checked all the components in another working computer, everything worked, except for the motherboard. What wonderful luck that was. Tried to RMA it, but failed to include the stupid IO shield, so it got kicked back. By the time I was able to get home and send the piece back (I'm at college 200 miles from home, so it's not so easy), the pieces passed each other in transit. RMA got canceled, piece arrived the next day. I realize that was my fault for not including the shield, but I failed to realize that it even went with the motherboard, which was a stupid mistake. Either way, I now have a nice decoration, or target practice. Bought a completely different motherboard, and it works fine.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus P8-z77-v LK

Pros: Has everything i need. It fired up out of the box with no issues. I was worried about purchasing this Motherboard after reading alot of reviews of faliures but i havent had a problem with Asus in the past. Very happy!

Cons: Ethernet port doesnt seem to be working but it might just be my fault. I have a Usb wireless adapter i can use so its no problem.

2 out of 5 eggsNot very lucky

Pros: Good features, when you get one that works.

Cons: Have to RMA the board again. Will no longer post. Also, if you use an OEM CPU cooler it may overlap the first RAM slot. As of now I have not had good luck with this board, But I'm hoping the third times the charm.
