1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Don't know have not been able to get it running yet.

Cons: I bought this for my wife for christmas, along with the rest of her build. This mobo and the power supply I bought were DOA. I odered a shipping lable and sent it back. It is due to arrive back with Newegg on the 3rd, and then I get to wait the 3-5 days processing and then I am sure another 3-5 days (minimum) for shipping it back. Overall I am quite dissappointed. I will add another review when the replacement arrives.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We're sorry to hear that the motherboard was DOA. If you've received a replacement from Newegg and are still having trouble, please contact me at cl-benson@asus.com (reference #C1037-7656)(include CPU, memory, video card, PSU if possible) and I'll be happy to assist you. Thank you.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: I recently upgraded my system from an older AMD motherboard to this one. I installed a third gen i3 3.4 Ghz chip with 4 Gb of RAM and it fired right up with no problems. I wanted a board with a few USB 3 ports and this one works fine. I am using the stock Intel cooling fan because I am not into overclocking (yet). The BIOS has has graphics and lots of tweaks you can change. The Win 7 rating system gives the i3 a 7.2 rating which beats a i5 laptop I am using. Nice quality board from one of the leaders in MB's.

Cons: None so far.

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints

Pros: - Solid performance
- Easy installation
- Great setup GUI

Cons: - Needed a BIOS update
- Could use another fan control

Other Thoughts: This is a near perfect basic board. I built the machine for a relative, and I've had no issues. At this point, I would not hesitate to recommend and ASUS motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsDefective

Pros: 3.0 express slot, and it's cheap for what it has.

Cons: I had this board for about a week, I constantly had to call Asus to figure out the problem of this board. The first call took me to buying new ram, the second call lead to someone hanging up on me, and the third call lead to the mobo being defective and I had to send it back.

Probably the worst customer service I've ever gotten, and I don't get any compensation whatsoever for wasting my time with this board for a whole week of problems.

Other Thoughts: I honestly think that the mem ok function is defective, but I am a first time builder.

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize for the issue you had with the motherboard.

The easiest way to set up your system properly with this motherboard is to obtain memory from our memory Qualified Vendors List (QVL) http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8B75M_LE/#MSL. as they have been tested and are known to work with the motherboard. The MemOK! function is useful if the motherboard does not POST immediately. Pressing this button will cycle through all of the settings available on the memory until it finds a setting compatible with the motherboard.

In addition, please plug a 4-pin speaker to the system panel on the lower right corner of the motherboard. If there's a problem with the motherboard unable to POST, it will sound beeps that point to problematic areas you should look into. For example, 1 long beep 2 short beeps correspond to a memory problem, 1 long beep 3 short beeps means a video problem.

I'm sorry that our customer service could not have been more helpful. Since this is the first time building a system, I recommend reading system build guides. If you have questions about our motherboards or want to continue troubleshooting, please feel free to contact me at cl-benson@asus.com reference #C2673. Be sure to include system parts and specs when replying.

Benson

3 out of 5 eggsupdate to "a pretty good board"

Pros: No change. Still works. No problems.

Cons: One thing to look out for with this board is that it is the most sensitive board I've every had with respect to plugging stuff into it. The first time I plugged in memory, a sound card, and a bracket for the serial header the board beeped and was very unhappy. I fiddled with whatever the new thing was and the board eventually accepted it. So, if you think your new board is DOA, it might just need a bit of resetting of whatever you plugged into it.

4 out of 5 eggs1st Asus Board " 1st time builder"

Pros: Easy Install
Great Manual
Perfect for a new builder like myself

Cons: 1 issue that not even Asus support seems to be able to fix;

I recieve a small Asus set Red X pop-up window after every bootup.

It reads: [ SetupInfo ] value is NULL

Other Thoughts: I can close the window and everything seems fine, but I'm guessing it isn't. Also, my corsair vengance ram 1600 runs at 1333. Trying to set it up at 1600 only results in an overclock failed screen. Timings and voltages were set correctly

4 out of 5 eggspretty good board

Pros: My build consists of this board, a Core i3-2100 3.1GHz CPU, G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) RAM, an Antec EarthWatts EA-500D Green 500W power supply, and a pair of Western Digital RE4 WD5003ABYX 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s drives (software RAID1). I installed Debian Wheezy (testing) with no issues. The integrated Intel graphics are quite good and the overall feel of the machine is quite snappy.

Cons: My only qibble with the board concerns a few of the hardware choices. I don't understand the logic of one 6 Gb/s port and five 3 Gb/s ports. Since I use software RAID1, I can't really sensibly use that odd SATA port, fast as it is. I also wish the board had a PATA and a floppy port, but I can live without them. Since I monitor my UPS via a serial line, it's a bit annoying that the mobo only has a serial header and I have to scrounge up a bracket to use it.

Other Thoughts: I've always preferred Asus's style of BIOS. Their new GUI BIOS is a bit of a shocker the first time you see it. I may learn to like it ...

My first attempt at a review slightly misfired as I got the P8B75-M LE (which I bought from newegg) and the P8B75-M/CSM confused. I have to suppose that the latter is probably pretty much the same as this board.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Impressed

Pros: none.

Cons: DOA.. Computer never even booted up, i sent it back, now newegg says its my fault and will not replace it.

Not impressed at all!

Manufacturer Response:

Dear Valued Customer,

We apologize that the motherboard was DOA.

If you're having trouble getting to POST, please try the following:

1. Clear CMOS. Turn off the computer. Turn the switch on the back of the power supply to OFF. On the lower right corner of the motherboard is a jumper marked "CLRTC", move the jumper from positions 1 and 2 to 2 and 3. Wait about 15 seconds, and move the jumper back to positions 1 and 2. Power on the computer.

2. Try to plugging a system speaker to the 4-pin speaker connector (lower right corner) and monitor if any beeps that occur when you turn on the computer.

1 short beep = keyboard issue
1 long beep and 2 short beeps = memory issue
1 long beep and 3 short beeps = VGA issue
1 long beep and 4 short beeps = hardware component issue

In addition, identify, if any, LED lights on the motherboard--CPU_LED, DRAM_LED, VGA_LED, BOOT_DEVICE_LED. If any of these are lit, that will tell you where the problem is.

3. Are you using a CPU that has onboard graphics? Not all Intel i series CPU are capable of onboard graphics. Please visit http://ark.intel.com to check if your CPU has this feature.

4. Some memory are not compatible with the motherboard. To ensure that memory will work with the motherboard, please try to obtain memory from our Qualified Vendors List (QVL. Downloadable from the product page). Also, try pressing the MemOK! button after you power on the system to load the default fail-safe settings of the memory. Your system may cycle several times during this process.

5. Please make sure to check the power connections, specifically the 24-pin and 8-pin/4-pin. Have you tried using another power supply?

To continue support, please contact me at cl-benson@asus.com reference #C1037-1990 with system parts and specs.

Regards,
Benson
