3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Everything works at default settings 1333Mhz. Small form factor, yeah its dated but for me I was looking for something that was a space saver. This is a so-so board with descent parts.

Cons: Shipping was Horrible. I love the Newegg window shopping experience but they lack the info. where its coming from within the u.s. and shipping took a long while. I'm stuck with this board, I'm ok with that, but at least I can buy 2400mhz and it should run at 1333mhz. The stated 2200mhz OC does seem to be a marketing ploy so they can sell this product or help their DDR 3 and laugh at the customers spinning their wheels. I have 4gb Crucial 1866 Ballistix Ram and it lowered the performance to 1333Mhz. The bios isn't exactly an easy button its supposed to be. XMP profile option should set everything in auto optimized default, it did not work and even selecting 1866mhz ram speed from the board didn't work either. This is the second ASUS product I bought and I'm very disappointed with the so-called O.C. options and performance they brag about. I think after a few months I'll be going back to MSI. I would not recommend this to anyone on a tight budget or someone looking for a common sense buy because of their marketing scheme. Alot of people brag about this ASUS stuff and I'm really disappointed, I'm definitely not getting my monies worth of what was printed on that box they sell.

Other Thoughts: I know ram is always an issue, but for me MSI was better in that arena than asus. This board came from the east coast so if you want it just under a week get the 3 day shipping and avoid fedex smartpost that newegg does under free shipping...or call them to make sure where it shipped from.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Happy

Pros: Good Price

Cons: Bough Asus 1155 computer. Had trouble right away and then during a lightning storm she died. Took it to a tech who suggested I just by another. My son told me to just buy a motherboard and he would put it in. Well new motherboard and couldn't even get up bios. Went to a different tech which could not figure it out and told me to junk it. New computer (junk). Put it on the shelf and got out my old faithful dell which is so outdated that it drives me crazy. Three months go by and I get out the Asus and take it 70 miles to a tech with really good reviews. He worked on it for about a hour and kept saying he couldn't figure it out. Then he took out one of the ram strips and bingo the thing came to life. Traded the ram around and found out that my brand new motherboard was doa. Reading the reviews on Asus I decided it was a waste of time to try to deal with Asus so now I have one slot that is good so I have half the ram but I won't buy another of these boards. That will do it for me and Asus.

2 out of 5 eggswas once a good board...

Pros: Was using this board in quite a few builds for customer sites. Worked wonderfully for the price, however....

Cons: In the last several months, I've been getting and aweful failure rate (I think it'd be generous to say 50%). Last straw was today when I used a brand new one to replace a failed one and it would not get passed the BIOS splash screen. Tired of wasting time and money, so I'm going to try a different brand.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent inexpensive board

Pros: Reasonable price, seems to be solid. Good built-in features, along with the ability to use most of Intel's 1155 CPU's.

Cons: Only 2 RAM slots (but that is common with lower cost boards and I knew when purchasing).

Other Thoughts: I needed an inexpensive main board for my 14 year old daughter. Her old XP box was running an AMD 3000+ and had performed very well for years. I purchased a Pentium G2030 and two 4GB Ram modules with this board. I installed Win 7 Pro. It makes a good basic PC for internet and homework purposes. Her Sims 3 game seems to work just fine on it, far better than the old PC. I like that I could simply drop an i3 or i5 CPU in it at a future time if more performance is needed.

5 out of 5 eggsAsus quality

Pros: -UEFI bios are awesome, as expected from asus
-Very stable
-$63, seriously..thats very cheap

Cons: -no overclocking on h61 chipset

Other Thoughts: I've heard about compatibility issues when selecting memory for this board. I have 2x4gb of corsair vengence that works perfectly if anyone is concerned about this issue. Processor is also an i3 3240.

5 out of 5 eggsnice rev 2 board

Pros: Awesome board. Has a lot of features in a small form factor. It's an established board, so it's dialed in!

UEFI can be mouse driven, but keyboard navigation is faster. It has an AHCI hot swap SATA section for those that like to eject your hard drives.

Price point for value is unreal.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Board runs Linux and FreeBSD flawlessly. This would make a great FreeNAS server.

Paired it with a Pentium G2030. Nice!

This would be a great first PC due to price or an office machine that could employ encryption with the use of an i3 CPU and TPM module. VPN also. This board has too many applications to count.

Pros: This is a good board and does what it should do at its price point, but it has problems with stability if you don't use the proper memory. Otherwise, the board handled well.

Cons: I tried the board with two types of G SKILL memory, and had serious issues. The G SKILL ripsaws were better than the G SKILL modules without a heat spreader, but I still had intermittent crashes. The G SKILL memory without the heat spreader was very very unstable.

Corsair memory seemed to work really well. To be fair they have a memory QVL, and I suggest you use it. This board appears to not be very stable with some of the more popular G SKILL modules, and possibly other brands as well.

I verified this with multiple boards, as I rolled out a few of these.

Memory tested, and failed:

stay away from using those in combination with this board!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard!!!

Pros: Greatly labeled ports, ports for pretty much everything you'd ever need besides USB 3.0, and GREAT BIOS editor.

Cons: No USB 3.0 support.

Other Thoughts: I built a high end gaming PC, and ASUS was the first manufacturer I went to to get a motherboard, they make AWESOME products.!
