4 out of 5 eggsLimited bios

Pros: Great price with bundle, easy install and stable performance. Quality build.

Cons: Bios is some what limited for tuning for best performance. I flashed the newest bios and it improved some. The advanced mode isn't very advanced. Maybe I am just used to the old layout.

1 out of 5 eggsHorrible board! Do not buy!

Pros: I bought this board a few months ago and have had nothing but issues! The GPU wasnt displaying ANYTHING until i finally got lucky. Played okay, was really slow, but i could game on it. Just reseated my core and now it wont play video again. I have a GTX 650 TI and a GT 620. Neither will show ANY video. Now im stuck with a PC that i cant do anything with until i get a new board!

Cons: Pretty much DOA.. Or just really faulty. No video display is a very common issue with these boards. DO NOT BUY!!!

Other Thoughts: Bad board, TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: UEFI Bios have an awesome interface
Asus software makes overclocking and updating bios a breeze
Price, Price, Price
Neat looking black PCB

Cons: Quality assurance not up to snuff
Becoming a date motherboard very quickly

Other Thoughts: It does the job, that's for sure. I love the UEFI bios and how easy that makes everything. I only ran into two hiccups. The first was that the cpu wouldn't seat easily, and behaved as if the socket itself is somewhat warped. Must have been a quality assurance issue to let something like that sneak through. Nothing a little more pressure than normal didn't fix. Second is that I spent a great deal of time trying to install my OS on an SSD in AHCI mode. For some reason, it repeatedly failed to boot in AHCI. I ended up having to switch to IDE mode in order to install the operating system (significantly slower SSD peformance) and then go into Windows and manually enable the AHCI driver before rebooting into bios and changing SATA modes from IDE to AHCI so that I could utilize my SSD to max potential. No biggie, but it was frustrating to have to do my own research to discover this trick. Delayed build completion by a couple hours at least. I had almost begun to believe my motherboard was bad.

The other thing that kills me is that I accidentally booted with my SSD disconnected today and that somehow managed to just completely wipe the SSD from my motherboard's recognition. After reconnecting it, my SSD was no longer listed in the boot priority list. The only way I could load my operating system was by pressing F8 during post and manually selecting to boot from my SSD every time. I was eventually able to get my motherboard to automatically boot from the SSD by disabling the CSM feature in bios and letting the thing post with errors. Upon reset, it recognized the drive again, and I was able to reenable CSM and resolve the automatic boot problems. Not really sure why that fixed it, but it did. Suddenly my hard drive was listed in bios again and I was able to set it in the boot priority list.

So, it has bizarre issues, but nothing impossible to work with. Given its strange hiccups, though, I have to admit that I'm probably not going to be buying an Asus for my next build.

4 out of 5 eggsNice features and expansion options

Pros: All cards, and other hardware went together onto motherboard very easily, My new pc started up on my first try, bios setup and Windows install went more smoothly than on any pc I've ever built before.

Cons: No USB 3.0 connectors on the motherboard, I had to use an adaptor cable to convert my front panel USB 3 ports to use USB 2.

Other Thoughts: The bios screen is very different than what I am used to. It's not hard to figure out, just different, so it took me longer than normal going through the bios options.

4 out of 5 eggsOk, for fx 6300 OC

Pros: Supported my fx 6300 Overclocked at 4,3ghz for more tha a year, really stable and easy to update with a flash drive.

Cons: Can't support the a,d fx 8320 at stock settings or OC, the tubo core do not event go in during video rendering, video conversion or stress test (at regular settings)

Other Thoughts: I think my CPU is broke but I suspect the motherboard to be...

1 out of 5 eggsLasted two weeks with issues

Pros: For the pricing it had what I needed to make the gaming rig I was working

Cons: This board turned out to have a defective bios as after I ended up troubleshooting the rig I built using it found out from the user that it had been having weird issues up until the point in which it simply would not boot past the Bios. Reset the BIOS to attempt to see if I could get to the point of updating the BIOS and it now won't get past stating it is corrupt though we never initiated any BIOS updates.

Replaced this with GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 and already a night and day difference.

Other Thoughts: Really wasn't happy as this was my girlfriend's first gaming PC so to last two weeks was obviously unacceptable let alone she was already paranoid and treating the computer with kid gloves.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Worked perfectly on arrival. The BIOS screen is user friendly and efficient. Great value for the price, with all the features found on a lot more expensive boards.

Cons: The secone PCIe slot is x4. So you'll need to make sure when building your machine to place the video card in the right slot. This also means SLI and Crossfire are not practical either. The memory bank and CPU could stand to be placed a bit further apart.

Other Thoughts: I have the 1.1 version of this board and bought this for my brother when he built his computer. That's how much I like this board, I bought it for a family member.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA, RIP

Pros: none

Cons: I expected better, it arrived open box, Strange I thought. DOA. Both PCIe slots are unresponsive. PCI slots ok, a legacy VGA card allows BIOS to post. Second opinion by professional OEM confirmed.

Other Thoughts: First ever failure of 10 years ASUS and newegg association.
