5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Will handle 220w FX processors. VRMs are practically indestructible. Outstanding overclock functionality. Too many features and functions to list. Only step up from here is breaking into the wall safe and ponying up the money for the crosshair.

Cons: Clearances to items at the top of the board an absolute pain for water cooling in a mid-tower. But there isn't an AMD board I have seen yet that didn't have this issue in some form or another.

1 out of 5 eggsPCIe 3.0 support

Pros: n/a

Cons: Caution
This board does not support PCIe 3.0. However the Gen3 version of it does. Newell needs to fix the search criteria for this board so that it does not come up on the list for PCIe 3.0 support.

Other Thoughts: This board does not support PCIe 3.0. However the Gen3 version of it does. Newell needs to fix the search criteria for this board so that it does not come up on the list for PCIe 3.0 support.

1 out of 5 eggsShifty MB

Pros: Out of the box it feels like a very solid MB. Has 8 internal sATA ports which is nice if you're running many HDD/SDD's. It was an easy install and the UEFI bios was very easy & intuitive. The direct bios and ram frequency on the MB were also very handy.

Cons: Where to begin. Well, right off the bat, the MB died within 6 weeks, just long enough for it to be out of the time frame to RMA. Disappointing. Second, while proceeding with the build, the BIOS would only read my RAM as 1333 when it was rated roe 2400! After fiddling around I finally got it to read at 1866 which was good enough since every time I tried to higher the MB would give me an error message. Disappointing. The most disappointing thing would have to be the fact that it up and died within 6 weeks. Had to fork out another $180.00 for a new MB - not manufactured by Asus.

Other Thoughts: I do custom PC builds quite often, for my own PC as well as for others. I was a big fan of Asus and only used their MB's for several years. And for a good while the MB's were excellent. However, it seems that in last couple of years, the manufacturing has gone downhill. I've now had a total of 4 boars die within 6 months (2 of my own) which is unacceptable for any company. I will no longer be using Asus as my go to company for MB's. It's too bad they have forgotten about quality control as they used to put out a great product. Now? Not so much.
I highly recommend looking at a different MB manufacturer, one comparable to this one but manufactured by a different company.

1 out of 5 eggsBuyer be Very Aware

Pros: Was an awesome MB while it lasted.

Cons: Died on me twice (2 MB's). First time it was dead out of the box. RMA'd it and got a new one within days (5 Eggs to Newegg for their customer service). Installed second MB and it worked great - for less than 6 months. Can't RMA it and Asus isn't going to do anything for me.

Other Thoughts: So far this MB has cost me over $300.00. First you have the actual cost of the MB which is ~ $180.00, another $160.00 for a replacement MB, then get this, because I had Windows 7 installed while using the Sabertooth, I now have to buy a new license key for another $160.00.
Shame on Microsoft! I could spend the entire evening ranting about their illegal & unethical practices, but that's not what this review is about.
I've always been a huge supporter of Asus as they put out products which, when they actually work, are of high quality. However, this is the third time over the past two years I've had an Asus MB completely fail. I've only had two MB's from Asus which worked until I upgraded. One of them lasted for over three years without a single issue. However, those odds aren't impressive and I hate to say it but I'm no longer going to support Asus again. I had to buy a new MB this go round and I went a Gigabit board which has been working great (it's only been 4 days however) from the moment I powered her up. I do miss the features which Asus MB's come with, but I would have to say that the only feature I can't live without is excellent quality control. It seems to me that Asus has NO quality control what so ever. So yes, if you are even considering purchasing this MB, be warned. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. There are many other quality manufactures with better products - because they work! I'm going to miss the excellent features that come with an Asus product, but it's due time I cut the cord with Asus permanently. I well NEVER buy another Asus product when doing a build again! Makes me sad and angry at the same time. But what's done is done. Again, and I can not stress this enough,

4 out of 5 eggsTurbo Boost causes instability

Pros: Good design, plenty of chassis fan connections, price

Cons: bios not very explanatory, neither GUI tips, nor manual.
Turbo Boost bios setting causes system instability.

Other Thoughts: Purchased with AMD FX-9590 CPU, GSkill RipJaws X-Series (2x8GB), and Cooler Master Seidon 240M liquid cooler. Upgraded old MB, CPU, and RAM. Reused Sapphire HD7970 3GB video card, and 2 Seagate 7200rpm HDs.

Upon first assembly and refreshing Windows Experience scores, the system would slow to a crawl about half way through. System clock would essentially stop. Tried adjusting BIOS settings to figure it out, but nothing fixed it. Decided to try PCMark 8 Demo, and had same effect, except it slowed almost immediately. Started up the CPU Fequency monitor from Asus Suite, and rerun PCMark. When the system slows down, the cpu frequency would spike anywhere from 800 to over 2000, and would not drop to normal until I managed to cancel the benchmarking. Went into the BIOS and disabled Turbo Boost, and repeated the benchmark and everything worked fine.
Not sure if this is a CPU issue, MB issue, or a bug in the BIOS.
Other than that issue, the board seems to work perfectly fine.

3 out of 5 eggsdepends on your personal preferneces

Pros: The board is pretty decent. It's fast with lots of options from the asus programs. Well priced for what it is.

Cons: I've had the board for a year and a half and I'm going on board number 3. First board has a bad CPU socket so the CPU wouldnt lock in and kept falling out. Rma department was pretty friendly and cool about it. Second board the onboard sound went out then it fried 3 video cards. Hope the 3rd on is better.

Other Thoughts: Asus is a pretty decent company, but there products always have something irritating about them. Like the tablet I'm using now likes to close my web browser randomly. It's also brand new.

For the price it's a good board.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

Pros: This motherboard is absolutely amazing looking. I ordered it with 3 day shipping and it actually got here the next day. I am still waiting on my processor(AMD FX-8350), but I will update performance afterwards.

Cons: There was a slight puncture mark on the bottom of the box. Its almost like it hit the corner of something in the warehouse, but no actual blemishes on the MOBO itself.

Other Thoughts: Overall I am extremely satisfied so far. I like the durability of the Sabertooth lin, but I didn't like the tan color in the online pictures. I was delightfully surprised when I got it to learn that its not actually tan colored, I think it was just the angle of the pictures or something.
